Had a fantastic experience on Saturday for dinner. Food was amazing and service was excellent thanks to Patrick and his other colleagues, who where the funniest and most skilled waiters I have ever had.
We were also witness to the incident attracting some reviews of racism, well to the people of this table, being told you need to respect the conditions of your booking is not racist. We were all glad to see you go.

Booked 7wks in advance for the table in the window but to no avail. So on arrival we were told to find a seat!
The food as always beautiful.
Our waiter was rude, not attentive so I felt we were just a nuisance.
It's expensive, would I go back probably not in a hurry.

The food was excellent. The waiter Carlo was really good. There was a female waitress that made the experience disappointing. She kept yelling out at our table, slammed my main meal on the table so fast the chips went flying off the dish and into my lap. I was then greeting the guests and she said we needed to get out of the way, she had to work. I asked her for her name and she said it doesn’t matter. We also found during the service some beverages were ordered but didn’t come out. We asked some waiters for assistance, but they wouldn’t help or work as part of a team, and told us we had to wait for our dedicated waiter, even though the waiter we asked wasn’t doing anything.

I recently dined in at Bistro Thiery for a birthday dinner celebration. The food at Bistro Thiery is undeniably great. From classic French dishes to modern interpretations, there are a lot to choose from and the flavors are exquisite. The creme brûlé dessert is a must-try!

However, there were disappointments that they did not have foie gras on the day and when my friend inquired if they could bring out a birthday cake after dinner for the celebration, the staff declined, stating that it was not something they could accommodate. This came as a surprise, as it is a common practice in many restaurants to allow such celebrations, even if there might be additional charges involved. To my surprise, there was a birthday cake celebration on the next table. We had to go to another place so that we can cut the cake.

I’ve been to this restaurant on 3 separate occasions and I’ve got to say on all 3 occasions the staff here are incredibly rude and condescending. It’s a real shame as my wife and I are huge fans of French food and the food here is good but the service here just destroys the experience. We went back for the second occasion with me thinking the staff here could have just been having a bad night on our first visit and our 3rd visit was a friend’s birthday dinner but all 3 experiences were soured by incredibly rude and arrogant service. I know a lot of friend’s have had the same experience and going by many of the reviews here I know I’m not alone in my experiences. While I know these guys will not care about negative reviews because it’s not really their style, I would say there are so many good French restaurants in Melbourne and around Victoria. This isn’t one of them.

Wow! Not sure what service others got but we were a fairly big group, largely ignored for most of the night. It was like trying to hail Basil Fawlty as a staff member wandered past. The bread was cold, like icy cold. The fish was the most boring meal I think I’ve ever had. I cook better flathead at home. I would have done better going to the pub next door. Overpriced, under seasoned and the sides were minuscule… nouvelle cuisine… ha! Yep the creme brûlée was nice but that didn’t make up for the rest of the night. Luckily we just laughed it off and decided… Never again!

Snails was below average today however onion soup, scallops, oyster and steak was still amazing. Service has gone worse compare with our last visit (pre Covid), especially the waitress today was pretty rude.

Love this Bistro. Waiters were attentive and polite. Food was delicious and their lunch deal was reasonably priced. Will definitely recommend and return with Friends and Family.

We had a memorable dinner at this restaurant, with tasty food, and friendly staffs. My little one was also enjoying it.

It's really worth me driving more than one hour to come! Will be back!

Lovely restaurant. Starts with the impeccable service and greeting. I love the paper table cloth and the decor which gives it a real New York vibe. Extensive wine list. Had my first ever Sauvignon Blanc from France. Definitely unique and really wonderful. Entre was French Onion Soup. A classic French dish done very well. Bread was your classic Baguette. Main was duck which I enjoyed. Desert was Crepes Suzette. A masterclass in delicate tasty sauce. Staff were very helpful with my elderly mum. Nothing but praise.

I love love love this restaurant, we've been eating here for years and it's consistent delicious authentic French cuisine is to be applauded. I do hold my breath a little just before we enter, breathe a sigh of relief when we see the wait staff, so immaculate and welcoming and then the food! My husband remarked yesterday that the bearnaise is still the best he's ever had even compared to the restaurants in Paris.the crepe Suzette is amazing, perfect! Great bar and good menu choices.as always. Do visit especially if you want the real French experience in Melbourne

Always busy, loud chatter and full of life which is part of the Bistro Thierry experience. Previous experiences have been on point however couldn't justify 5 stars. Food good just not the usual excellent especially when price point expects it to be so. That said, the beef tartare and wine selection were top notch.

Thankyou Bistrot Thierry for a beautiful lunch for me and my six friends. The food was delicious. The waiters were charming, patient and very handsome. They brought us our meals promptly and with dedication. Your restaurant was busy but calm and cosy. Everyone was glad to be at Bistrot Thierry again.

I had the steak tartare which was very nice and duck for a main. The duck was a little dry and wasn't great. Dessert was creme brulee, again not the best I've had. The service was not fabulous either, all in all a mediocre meal. Luckily the company was lovely.

Dined here on a Friday night and overall the meal was good but not great. All the dishes were lacking salt and for the price point I would expect better. Service was a bit slower than I would expect. Bit disappointed.

Had an amazing night here. Delicious food and friend service. Decor on the walls adds a beautiful vibe. Escargots is a must try, definitely my personal favorite. Only thing is better not drive to there cus their wine is too good to be refused.

Amazing french restaurant (probably one of the best in Melbourne). Charcuterie board is great if you want to try a selection of French nibbles, steak frites is a classic French dish and very well priced for what it is! And the chocolate souffle (pictured) is not to be skipped, such a rich hot chocolate sauce they pour inside it, simply amazing!
