Bianchet Winery & Fable dining room reviews
68 I had a beautiful lunch here recently.
The French onion soup was delicious as was the steak. The staff and service was also outstanding.had a party of 7 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it!
Definitely will return again!
Absolutely superb! Compliments to the chef! Entre’ I had the pan seared scallops with pork belly, plated beautifully, for main I had the duck, cooked to perfection. Best dining experience in a long time I will definitely be back.
Highly recommended
Absolutely atrocious winery. Came here for my friend’s 40th on an organised wine tour (so they knew we were coming) and food was so slow. Waited over an hour between courses. Admittedly 4 people in our group had dietary requirements which weren’t disclosed prior to arrival however I don’t see how this makes entrees take 45-60 mins to come out after our arrival followed by mains an hour later after entree and dessert another hour later. We ended up being at the venue for over 3 hours for 3 course SET menu and everyone was starving! Total lack of care from all staff when questioned about why it was taking so long between meals which I politely asked about probably 6 times before I found the owner to query her and was quite annoyed by this point. She did not seek to understand what had gone on and just complained she doesn’t get enough money from the wine tour operator to do a good job of it apparently. Would never EVER return and unfortunately I think the owner’s response below (and to everyone who has left a poor review) says everything about this business and why they must be struggling in the industry. I would of loved to leave a great review and say we had a great time but unfortunately that was not the case. Save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere
Went on a Scoopon voucher. The pizza came before the entree even came. The pizza looked quite sad and was very doughy as it was not cooked all the way through. Place was busy and understaffed. Unfortunately I will not be coming back.
Prices are exorbitant. $39 for main & $9 for vegetables. Wine was terrible. Make sure check the bill twice. We were overcharged in the range of $50.00. Never catch our group there again.
Thank you for a delicious lunch, (Saturday 19th) and enhancing two ladies luncheon on a dreary afternoon. The Barramundi, was scrumptious, dessert was divine, and the staff were fantastic, so attentive yet discreet. Absolutely recommend the pannacotta. Thank you chef for "tweaking" the fish course due to my allergies. Will be back.
Great place. Food was amazing, worth every penny. Coffee and wine as well. We had a great time. Cellar door was closed this time. We definitely have to come back and check it out.
Best meals I’ve had since Hestons. Chef is up there with best. Incredibly cheap for the quality. $55.00 for a three course dinner. Best in Yarra valley.
Have not been to Bianchet for quite a few years. The new owners have absolutely nailed it! Great staff and service. The food? I'd eat here every day! If you haven't been.just do it!
We had an great lunch at Bianchet during our Yarra Valley trip, and took advantage of their 3 course special. Really good value for money considering the quality of the food. Our favourites were the duck breast, mushroom entree, and even the bread was a standout (served with seaweed butter). Nice local wines too and good service.
I visited Fable dining room on a Saturday night in late May. As soon as I walked in I felt the warmth of the open fireplace. I immediately felt relaxed in this cosy atmosphere. For entree I had the kingfish ceviche which was melt in your mouth. Main was duck breast which was delicious and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable and great fun.
It is great to have such a restaurant in the area and I will definitely be back.
Booked a birthday lunch for 50 people on 17th March 2019. I'm still very disappointed.
There were many issues, very slow service, smoke from kitchen in dining room (So bad guests had to go outside), waiting over an hour to order, drinks not being refilled.
The owners reaction was not pleasant when confronted with upset guests.
The food was great. The chef and his team produce some great meals but this is not enough for me to want to return.
I can not recommend this venue for any functions.
Food was OK but not representative of the price. I was there for dinner - but I think the atmosphere and surroundings would make lunch a much better option.
On a hot autumn day we had booked a long overdue catch-up lunch. Although it was busy with a big celebration booking, we were never overlooked. The food was amazing, I had the duck main, this was perfection. Being a new opening the staff are young and new seemed keen. This is a plus for me anywhere. We live in Boronia and can not wait to take any visitors there.
Fantastic, delightful experience. Food just delicious and just to die for. Fine dining experience that you must come and try for yourself. Beautiful wine. Friendly service, I even received a candle on my desert for my birthday which was a special touch. Can recommend this place.
Chicken felt like it had been under a heat lamp for 90 minutes. Came with no sauce and just cabbage
2 and a half hour wait for food and incorrect orders given. The ravioli was uncooked.
Air-conditioning was not working and it was exceptionally hot inside. We were promised that it would be fixed by our booking but was not.
There was flies everywhere and did not feel hygienic with them all around.
Would not recommend.
Had a magical afternoon on Labour day.very busy but the guys handled it well.
We will be back, food lovely and service awesome!
The Cheescake was to die for!
My husband and I had the most amazing lunch here. Food was incredibly good; fresh and flavoursome. Staff were attentive and friendly. Decor lovely too. Could not fault it!
Had the three course lunch today, everything was fantastic and incredible value. Had the pork starter, perfectly cooked eye fillet and cheese courses. Plus the estate pinot noir was delicious. Only annoyance was the large table behind us that seemed to complain loudly about everything. Would recommend to anyone.
OK. The staff on duty tried their best. The waiter who attended our party did the best he could and was lovely.
But, no air conditioning, even though it was promised to be working in time.
The chicken schnitzel looked like a McCains oven cook meal. Oh, but it came with a little slop of cabbage.
The fish n chips was ok.
Ravioli wasn't cooked and took 2 hours to arrive.
Beetroot salad was a goopy slop.
The sides - vegetables came after the main meals.
The flies that accompanied our meal were not the best feature, but the staff had to open the doors so we all didn't cook in the UN air-conditionied hut.
The owner wasnt really keen on offering any consolation.
Don't come here. There are better places in Yarra.
To the lovely staff.leave, you deserve better.
