Bahari The Hellenic Palate

We've been going to Bahari for the year and the food is excellent. Philip Vakos, notable as a contestant in the mid-2000s on MasterChef, is well connected to the Greek food community in Melbourne and serves up well priced, fresh wholesome greek fare at Bahari.

Highly recommended.

Everything food, service and ambiance was great. The halloumi, lamb shoulder and the moussaka are to die for!

What a wonderful little Greek Restaurant beautiful food and wonderful service a must when your in Melbourne.

Small almost cramped spot. Staff were ok, food was pretty good considering the expectation was set high (few friends had visited previously). Caught the waitress rolling her eyes at our group a few times while taking our orders. If you don't want to be there then it's simple, don't be there.

Awesome place for modern Greek cuisine. Their trio of dips and bread are second to none. Entrees are their forte IMHO. The place is always booked out so unless you don't mind sitting outside, call to book in advance. The owner and his staff are a warm and friendly bunch. And the best thing is their prices are hard to beat considering the location and popularity.

I called to make a booking for a group of 8 adults and 3 kids. I knew that there was a set banquet for groups of 8 and greater at $40-$50 per person. However I was told that the kids were $25 per head also for the banquet! The children are aged 1,3 and 5 years old and will not eat anywhere near $25 worth of food! Ridiculous! Would not recommend this place to families with young children!

Wow.delicious and inviting. The food was amazing, especially the dips and bread. Service was exceptional and we felt really welcome. An urban feel with yummy classic hellenic food. A must for lovers of Greek cuisine.

I went here last night on the recommendation of a friend. Philip the host, was warm and friendly as was our serving lady. The food was deliciously hearty and we left feeling very satisifed.
I highly recommend Bahari and will be returning soon for a lovely evening.

Nice food however the wait staff seemed to want to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Felt rushed and an inconvenience to the establishment. It’s a pity as food was great, but never felt welcome.

Unforgettable meal. Incredibly friendly service from the staff, the meals were incredible and portions were large enough to share around the group without feeling like you missed out. Do yourself a favour and save room for the candied bacon baklava, easily the best dessert I’ve ever had.

Fancy a Greek eatery not allowing 4 people to order a souvlaki. "Sorry, we only do souvlaki as take away".
Fine, so we went to Lamb's and spent our money there. Won't be back to this place again.

Great place to have some Greek specialties. Food is always fresh, delicious and amazing. The restaurant has a great vibe with fantastic staff!
