Bahari The Hellenic Palate

Don’t go here for bookings for large groups (apparently 7+ is large). You are forced to choose only from the “banquet” menu and cannot order individual meals. This was not mentioned at time of booking or confirmation email attached despite the owner mentioning so. Wait staff are lovely but owner is unpleasant and not receptive to feedback. Wouldn’t go again.

I took my family here for for a 60th and we all absolutely loved it! The food was super tasty and there was a huge selection to choose from, sending back empty plates with everything we had The atmosphere was really good and felt very traditional. Highly recommend and will be returning!

Best Tzatziki I've ever had! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and the haloumi cigars were amazing.

Nice little place that would please whoever wishes to have a taste of Mediterranean cuisine at the heart of Richmond.

Horrendous experience. Forced to pay $55 a person from a banquet menu because he had a “large group of 10”. No one informed us of this, and the owner was so pig-headed he said he would charge us $30 a head if we refused to order and leave. Do not go here and spend your hard earned money.

This has to be one of Melbourne's best, without doubt.
Firstly, every time I walk into this place, I am made feel like family. The staff have that unique blend of politeness, professionalism and informality that just disarm you, as if you've arrived home.
The menu selection could please absolutely anyone at all, no mater what your preferences and requirements are.
But the food. Oh. This is home-cooked heaven on a plate. Earthy, natural and authentic dishes. Uncomplicated flavours, genuine offerings of uncompromising quality make this place unique.
You need to come here to try this. There simply is not food like this anywhere else in Melbourne.
Get out of lockdown and get your backside in here before it fills up again. Or don't, and I'll take the table instead.

Fantastic Greek food in a warm setting paired with great cocktails. Recently got takeaway from there and that did not disappoint, fresh, tasty and decent serving size. Can not recommend this place enough!

Best Greek food we've had in Melbourne! My husband is Greek and his family is full of amazing cooks. Bahari is the only place that rivals that, and their service is just as amazing. Delightful staff, Danny was so friendly and warm.
We ordered takeaway recently and it made our weekend! The lamb shoulder and those roasted potatoes are to die for. Support these guys and you won't regret it, especially during this trying time! Thanks, Bahari!

Dine in quality home delivered lamb shoulder, roast potatoes and cauliflower & grain salad AMAZING! Everything was delicious, well presented and plentiful!

Ordered Uber delivery from here last night - grain salad, cabbage salad, pita bread & lamb shoulder. Food was excellent & good portion sizes. Lamb was to die for & salads & bread were very fresh & tasty!

Bahari has good food but there is a ridiculous policy that states if you have a group of 7 or more you must buy their expensive and completely overpriced banquet. Worse still each time we’ve been there, the restaurant is completely empty and they keep denying Our group of 7 people even though 3 of which are kids under 12. The owner told us to dine somewhere else. That was the last straw! Rude!

Went for a group lunch and was impressed with the quality of the food and the service. One of the better Greek restaurants in Melbourne.

Banquet menu was poor value. Our group was dissatisfied with what was served and the generosity shown.

As someone who has only left positive reviews for places, I’ve got to say this place has totally dissaponted me and angered me.customer service at its worst! My experience was that bad that I will tell everyone I know to not step foot in here.much better Greek restaurants with great service around.

Talk about amazing greek hospitality! The food is to die for; so fresh and authentic and the staff are so welcoming and lovely. Celebrating my birthday here was so perfect and to be offered an ouzo birthday shot and their delicious signature halva ice cream was going above and beyond! Making the wonderful experience even greater with a gringlish touch. Could not recommend this restaurant more!

Love this greek, with a twist, restersaunt. Food is always spot on and interesting wines. Great value too.

This is a staple for us living in Richmond and never disappoints. It’s up there with the best Greek food I’ve encountered here and in Greece.

The menu staples are great but they keep it fresh with the ever changing special list.

What we must have is their lamb skewers and the trio of dips. You’ll be ordering more bread it’s so good!

I suggest to book in he evenings.
