My hubby loves their ayam penyet and sambal. But dec 18 when we ate there, hubby complained that their ayam penyet has curry spice in it. It was different as before. He doesn't like curry at all and asian spices for ayam penyet are different with curry spice, imagine that. I gave 3 stars as the one who served us was really friendly man.

Possibly one of the best ayam penyet i’ve had outside of Indonesia. Even the usual accompaniments were well made.

Very authentic Indonesian restaurant. Menu is limited but that means they focus more on the quality of the dishes available. Don’t be afraid of the big crowd in the shop, you will get a table after you make the order. Go easy on the sambal, it hurt my face but it was so good.

The Indonesian food is on point except for the poor excuse of a side salad plus they charged me extra when I asked for more sambal

Iga penyet is super recommended. It could be better if only the place is more spacious. But overall, great!

Indonesian Food in South Melbourne! I love it! There is a few in South Melbourne but they are all from different parts of Indo so they are all good, as long as sambal is good too! Rawon was fantastic, good experience

The only ayam penyet that I love in Melbourne and definitely the only one that I will recommend to my friends! The taste, especially the sambal, is very authentic. However, on peak hours, you will need to wait as they only have limited tables (only 4 persons per table). If you come in a large group, you may have to sit separately.

Delicious Indonesian food. I felt like I was back in Indo eating here. Prices are around $13 and you get a decent size portion. They also sell Martabak! Which is about $8 for a long slice which tastes beautiful warmed up a little, the flavours are chocolate and cheese, chocolate, cheese and peanuts. They also sell Somay which is very yummy and priced between $8-$10. The restaurant is clean, and staff are friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends.

I was so excited to finally get a taste of Indonesian food here in Melbourne. I ordered a soup to take away only yo be told that there were no takeaway spoons only a fork! How do you eat soup with a fork?

The food was good. I ordered ayam penyet with tahu and tempe as side. Their sambal is very spicy and you need to pay $1 for extra sambal.

The guy who served me was rude, didnt say hi or even smile (it wasnt busy that time) he is the one with the glasses, big guy full of tattoos.

The restaurant it self was dirty, crumbs everywhere. My table was full of crumbs and dirty plates. I need to wiped my own table coz none of the staff member clean it.

This is one the best Indonesian food in Melbourne. For you who loves chille or sambal you should come and try their menu.

If you like the authenticity of Indonesian food, this chain offers the authentic flavour of Indonesian fried chicken and fried beef ribs, along with the 'sambal' that makes it original Indonesian food.

Our favourite Indonesian 'smashed' fried chicken and fried ribs in Melbourne. The sambal is tasty and very spicy (a warning there). We also always order the sayur asem (sweet and sour soup) on the side as the rice dish can be quite dry. The place is tiny though, so we never bring the pram, unless we are sitting outside. We also try to avoid busy times and come for early or late lunch.

Fried chicken is pretty good - most authentic Indonesian i could find in Melbourne. The best part is the chilli sauce. Right spiciness level.nommsss

Loved the food. The flavours in the sambal were brilliant and oh so hot! I tried the smashed ribs and they were divinely melt-in-the-mouth. The crunchy flakes (kreme?) were so yummy, I wanted to eat bucketloads of it by itself (not a good idea I think).

They don't open on time for lunch - it was 12: 15 by the time we got in. They do get really busy though so the tables were full as soon as they opened.
