Ayam Penyet Ria reviews
82Amazing food but too expensive compared to another indonesian restaurant and talking about the size of the portion
One of the best sweet n sour soup in Melb when consistency can be maintained. Love the variety of new drinks, the mung bean is my go to.
Delicious ayam penyet, the sambal is bomb. Super spicy but so good! Staffs are always polite and lovely. Always our fav go to place whenever we miss Indon food.
The tofu and tempeh fried chicken is delicious. The grilled ribs have too strong ginger flavor.the rice is fluffy. The onion sauce is spicy but there is too much garlic. The Soto Betawi sauce is salty and too spicy
Went there twice and the first visit was terrible, the staff look like they don’t know what to do, especially the mullet guy he’s kinda cocky
Got the outdoor seat and it was dirty and they don’t even care
They don’t even have cafe umbrella thing so bird’s poop everywhere
The food was good but kinda salty
Overall good food terrible service
Lunch at this Indonesian restaurant in South Melbourne near the market: no frills but delicious food! Lots of classic Indonesia dishes here.
.
Bebek penyet: delicious fried duck leg! So flavourful.
.
Iga bakar: the beef rib was super tender!
Satay ayam: good satay chicken!
.
Es cendol: a bit too sweet but good.
Delicious food, very flavourful. Beautifully renovated since I previously attended. If you come early enough they have Hillsong playing in the background.
Simply best indonesian restaurant in Melbourne with its legendary ayam penyet and sambal:) Very close to local indonesian food.
Love the Ayam Penyet! Very tasty! Always come back for more. And the sambal, spicy but delicious
Consistent throughout the many years they been operating. Glad they survived covid lockdowns.
Very good food, reminds me of home in Indonesia. The food arrives quickly with both English and Indonesian speaking employees.
We had an amazing lunch at Ria. All the food was so flavourful and comforting with generous portions
We ordered:
Iga Bakar - grilled beef ribs, sweet soy sauce glaze, tofu, tempeh and sambal terasi
Soto ayam- turmeric soup, chicken, vermicelli, boiled eggs, bean sprouts, cabbage, fried shallot and sambal
Es cendol- ice cendol jelly, coconut milk, palm sugar with durian
Tahu Isi- crispy fried battered tofu filled with vegetables
Martabak- with chocolate and cheese
My fave was the iga bakar with their signature sambal and their es cendol. Definitely must visit Indonesian restaurant in Melbourne.
Food was nice but serving was small and the kitchen is slow. I probably won't go back considering all the other options around.
Used to be good. Came here with 3 friends for lunch. We waited over 45 minutes for our meal?
I went to Ria around 7pm today, I ordered one bakso and one Soto Ayam I paid, the cashier advised the kitchen is very busy it could be a 40 minute wait, which I said no problem. The Soto Ayam came n got delivered but the man said that bakso was unavailable hmmm after 40 minutes we got told that. The man said we could have another Soto Ayam okay we waited another 10 minutes. On the cash register they have 5% discount if you paid cash, hmm unfortunately I paid cash and no discount, I even wasn’t offered a refund of the price difference between Bakso and Soto Ayam. I just want to alert management promise what you advertised
The best coconut soto! Definitely going to be my new favorite dish! Friendly and helpful staff
Delicious food and generous portions. Definitely try if you are looking for authentic Indonesian food.
Really good and authentic Indonesian food. Nice and chill vibe. Can’t recommend them enough
Great food, great service and real prices. I went there late afternoon, so not much to say about the atmosphere. Will definitely be going back for more. Yum!
It's really good fried chicken. Deep fried well and crispy skin outside. The chicken inside was not too dry. The taste is similar to Hat Yai Fried Chicken in our country as well. The chili paste is eaten separately.
There are 5 choices of chilli paste. Let's make it the most spicy. It's red one. Highly recommend
