Not as good as the Buxton trout farm but nice that they had a playground. Disappointed that the ponds with NO FISHING signs were not being enforced.

Easily accessible, friendly and helpful staffs, heaps of fish if you are lucky there is a picnic area where you can barbecue your catch.

We decided to visit this place for the first time. Our experience wa very disappointing the servic wasn't good.we didn't know where to get our fish ing rods and when we asked one of the staff the response was over there. There was no bait on the beach had to ask for mooreby another staff member.to top if off had no service to remover the hook from the fishes mouth
When asked for our fish to be cleaned I asked them to fillet our fish and to our head and bones for soup. When after got only fillets from the fish. Very disappointed will.

Needs more staffing and support for people to spend their time efficiently for the money we spend there. And people need to stop leaving rods and buckets all over! Not to mention the unreasonable folks who leave fish to die in buckets and walk away once they decide the fish is too large to pay for! That's why it's best to make it affordable so people don't waste your fish!
Tangled lines all the way across then ponds. It's not my job as a customer to go around fixing and putting away rods so it doesn't get in our way. I'm not paying 150$+ to spend my time doing that. Yes the boys working there were very helpful and friendly but they had their hands full and looked like they needed a experienced adult to supervise and keep things organised. The fish could have been more varied and plentiful as we couldn't land a salmon even though we tried for an hour.maybe for the best as it's a tad over priced.
The trek path at the challenge was a mess and dangerous for children, the bridges were old and broken very highly likely someone will be falling through and getting injured very soon. I almost did a twist on my ankle and fell in but luckily I'm not so clumsy but someone else would have definitely been injured. Alot of improvements to be made if you're gonna have people coming in for a long time in future.would hate to see this place go under due to mismanagement. The fish, Employees and people including local businesses in the area deserve a chance to survive and if places like this fail to impress then everyone will be impacted by this. Hope you guys can pull your socks up and fix the place up for the modern time we are in and make it safer for your patrons! You owe us that much to make sure we come to your place and leave there safe and well. Wish you the best guys. Hope you can fix things.

We loved the place and fishing with kids was really fun only concern is if the entrance fee is reduced to a fair amount, we can fish more and pay for them a fair amount. $23.50 & $31.50 per kg is very high and if you add $9.50 entrance fee per adult will add upto the fish costing a lot per kg. It's fun but it would be great if prices are reasonably reduced we can visit at least twice a month. We wanted to catch salmon but it was too costly. Appreciate a review on pricing

Fun place to take kids. Easy to catch fish quickly! Facilities are abundant but could use a refresh (ie bathrooms, kids playground, bbq tables and chairs are all in old/worn-out condition)

Came here on Good Friday and it was packed as expected. The drive to this fish farm is very nice and scenic. In summary, it’s a nice place for a family day out and you can go fishing if you wish. The fish is not cheap though. $31.90 a kilo for salmon & $23.90 for rainbow trout. I caught 2 fish each and it ended up being an expensive exercise. That said I’d recommend have a plan and rough idea of how many fish you wanna catch. This was actually the first time I went fishing so it’s fair to say getting a fish was pretty easy!

Entery fee is too high for a family cost me $40 just to get us in the gate. I will not be going back

Great experience even for people who haven't done fishing before. You can have your fresh catch cleaned and ready for cooking. Nice views as you enjoy your meal. A play area for the little ones completes this family friendly adventure! Very nice staff by the way!

Always a wonderful day with the family when we visit Australian Rainbow Trout Farm. It's become a tradition.
With something for each age to enjoy there's no better day out.
Have fun catching fish (they supply rods and bait), cooking a BBQ, kids playground, watching the chicken farm or just set up a rug and spend a lazy day napping with a full belly.
Except on public holidays, there's plenty of parking and on site store to buy food and drinks.

Highly recommend if going with family, nice place to enjoy for a day trip. Kids will enjoy a lot as they will land fish real quick.

Please be aware, you can't catch and release You buy what you catch?

P. S - They charge you $4 to clean per fish.

Overall pleasant experience, crew were very polite and friendly.

Best experience ever! We went on the difficult one we only waited 20 minutes to catch a rainbow trout. Then we went to easy spot where the kids quickly caught a 1 kilo salmon. We end up with a rainbow trout and salmon. Was so yummmmmm

The place is pure magic! Lots of great fish and helpful team. The only downside is the very old unmaintained playground.

I really love this fish farm. The family that run it are lovely, the fish are great quality and the prices are very reasonable. I have been taking my daughter here since she could walk to get her used to fishing and at 4 years old she is now the one saying 'daddy let's go catch fishies! '

The lake is also a terrific challenge. I have had a go at it a handful of times now and have had some good success with enough time and patience.

I highly recommend the Macclesfield Trout farm, it's great and best of all the fish are fantastic quality!

Perfect place for families to experience fishing while kids are playing in playground. Good thing is that they have thought of everything you need simple but plenty of stuff needed to make a wonderful day.

It's a good place for picnic and to spend your day.
Reason for 3 star is the unhygeinic and dirty toilets. It's not entirely the management issue, visitors should respect the place
