We celebrated our wedding anniversary with a night out at Attica. It was such a wonderful dining experience! We spent 3.5h here, loved the interactive meal (making the crocodile sandwiches/ standing up to head out for the basque cheesecake/ spraying vinegar from the perfume bottle etc). Loved the number of courses, variety and we had both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic pairings. I was very impressed with the non-alcoholic pairing, the best I've had. Aside from the amazing food, it is the staff and service which really was the icing on the cake. They did such a good job from the first moment we stepped into the restaurant, to introducing the dishes and drinks and answering our questions. Could do with extra bread slices for the crocodile sandwich dish and the dessert wasn't as wow as the other courses but no doubt, all still amazing and so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

We have eaten here twice now pre covid and on both occasions have been blown away, it’s a well oiled machine, not that you know that when you were there but when you watch the staff you realise the effort that goes into running the show. It deserves three stars, the food is magnificent every dish your taste buds explode. The plate up and presentation is an art show so well executed. A few hours of absolute indulgence. The herb garden is stunning the staff are professional, friendly and knowledgeable without being too intrusive. We will definitely visit a third time!

Not too far from the city
Open for Easter
Reservations required was what I was told. No empty tables

Each course was perfect. The wait staff were all lovely and very knowledgeable. I especially loved the surprise dessert course outside.

A magical few hours. The tastebuds exploding! Each dish was exciting and the matched wines made a perfect compliment to the food. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about each plate and wine. I would however prefer to have the meat from the shellfish removed by the chef rather than me as it can be difficult to remove the meat for very little reward in my case. This is the only dish that I found disappointing and would prefer this plate presented with the meat removed prior to serving next time. Dessert was a fun way to complete our dining experience at Attica. I very much look forward to returning to Attica for another unforgettable experience. Thank you! 10/10 Highly recommend. An amazing exhibition of Australian produce. Every dish was cleverly put together and wonderfully imaginative. This is one of the best fine dining experiences in Australia and the world. If the Michelin Guide was in Australia, Attica would receive 2 to 3 stars. I highly recommend a visit, it's special.

My partner had the pescatarian option and the changes to accommodate her requirements were very well dealt with (i.e. The dish is redesigned, not just a protein swap).

It pains me to write this review. I went early Feb 2022 and felt the menu (mostly seafood) severely lacked creativity and imagination, although it was reasonably well executed for what it was. The food was nice and well balanced, but given the type of venue I expected more. I can get a nice meal for a third of the price somewhere else.
Unfortunately, if you have an allergy you're in for a vegetarian meal with the exception of one course. Courses are small, which is to be expected at places like this but honestly if they didn't have the "eat as much as you like" desert bar then I would have left really hungry and angry.
The service was also lacking. Staff forgot to provide cutlery once and we had to flag down a waiter twice for drinks - three times if you include the cutlery issue.
Unfortunately the food and service is not worth the price.

Outstanding food, very friendly staff, great ambience and everything that you'd want at a restaurant. We will be back.

Incredible and unique dishes making for a very memorable experience. Loved the emphasis on local/regional foods. Lovely wine selection. Particularly liked the ant "caviar"!

Totally surpassed all my expectations. A creative and fun menu that showcased tasty food, with more of a focus on warmth and authenticity rather than technique. There was a story behind each menu item - feel like I got to see Ben Shewry’s soul through his food. Staff were unbelievably friendly. This is what fine dining should be, none of that stuffy, pretentious stuff, just a focus on showcasing high quality, local food with a fun twist. Highlights definitely the caviar and bellinis, and the roo frites. So good can’t wait to go back.

From the moment you open the door to this restaurant to the moment you leave, you understand completely why this place has 3 hats.

Incredible service, choreographed with an emphasis on "we are here for you".

Staff that are obviously proud of, and passionately believe in, what their workplace produces for its guests and that pride flows through, even down to the way eating implements are placed on tables.

Food that showcases what we don't know about our own indigenous foodstocks and leaves the patron in no doubt that they have been educated to appreciate incredible flavours that others have known about for centuries.

A sommelier passionate about both his non - alcoholic and alcohol based cellar, who can talk about the producer of a wine and talk about their family and what they do and equally who can talk about the in house production of alcohol free alternatives without even batting an eyelid.

It's the attention to detail that gets me, the choreography, where action is happening, but it's still all about you. A true knockout from beginning to end.

A magnificent journey across Australia with native foods. There is lots of interaction and gaiety throughout the meal which adds a fun element. We loved trying things we’d never had before like emu liver, sugarbag honey and pearl oyster. The service was notable in that our wait staff were friendly and worked incredibly well together. An enjoyable evening worth waiting for. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience at Attica and stoked I finally got to try the best restaurant in Melbourne! Moreton bay bug was a standout - got my claws right into that bad boy dessert was extra special in December (I won't ruin the surprise) Lovely ambiance. Wonderful focus on native ingredients with informed staff who explain each element to you. Left without feeling bloated or overfull which means that the balance is spot on. Wonderful for a special occasion

Delicious take home meals. Absolutely incredible flavour & the best pana cotta I've ever had. The salmon & dip with sourdough was a real highlight.

This is a review of Attica at home. As foodies, we were unsure how good this would be, however we were pleasantly impressed. Well packaged and came with detailed instructions. It tasted amazing with great flavors and good portions. Then there was the burnt cheesecake, wow! If you love cheesecake, it doesn't get any better.

ATTICA at home is a superb way to treat yourself (and others) to an unbelievable meal during lockdown. We consumed the Chicken and Chill! It was very easy to assemble at home. Each part of the meal was colour coded We also divulged the most AMAZING baked cheese cake, to die for! Most importantly Eddie was so friendly helpful and generous. Truly a fun decadent delicious family affair at home.
Sorry no pictures.we dug in too quickly YUM!

Attica at Home this weekend made for a wonderful birthday dinner for my wife; thanks Ben and your team! About the only five star event to come out of covid!

Food was very nice. Only reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars is there was a lack of explanation as to some of the dishes and what is in them and some dishes were very small for classification as an individual course.

The ambiance, wine and most importantly the food was excellent. This was a night showcasing one aspect of some of the best of Australia. It did not fall into the trap of being more hype than it’s worth. The flavours and textures were in most dishes superbly balanced. The quality of ingredients needless to say was faultless - but at this price point one could say it is expected; still, when the ingredients are respected as they have been here (including the explanation of where the honey used in a dish is from!) one cannot help but be enthralled by the whole night. If you can help it don’t read too many other reviews or photos of their dishes. I recommend just making the effort to get a booking and go with an open mind. Try to be pleasantly surprised - food tasted better than it looked and it did not look half bad at all!
