Advanced Myotherapy

Went to Advanced Myotherapy for a remedial massage and saw Thomas. It was a great massage and sorted out my sore muscles! I will definitely be going back regularly.

About five days ago my lower back started to seize up, getting so bad it was hard to walk around the house. Pain was radiating through my hips, pelvis and at its worst down the front of my legs. I rang these guys to see if I could make an appointment ASAP and spoke to Matt. He asked me a number of questions and said he could make room on Saturday at the end of the day if I thought it was getting worse, but suggested that if I could manage to wait a couple of days for the inflammation to settle I would get much more out of the treatment. As it was the weekend I tried to apply what he had shared with me and made an appointment for Tuesday morning.

He was correct, although the pain hadn’t gone it had lost much of its severity and I could now walk all be it rather gingerly. Upon arrival at the clinic I was greeted by a young woman named Josie who asked me to take a seat while she finished up with another client. She returned and ushered me into one of the treatment rooms. The consultation began promptly on time. After asking me a number of questions and observing my movement she began. I remember the pleasant sound of nondescript music with no lyrics, soft lighting and the mild scent of essential oil and clean towels. I lost track of time and couldn’t tell you if half an hour had passed or an hour only occasionally being bought back by the vigor with which she using her skill or to move into a different position. I must say that her intuition as to how much pressure I was able to tolerate was impressive. In the last few minutes of the treatment Josie went over some stretches that I could do to help address the issues I was having and that I may be tender and a bit sore for the next couple of days and if I deemed it necessary that a follow up in ten to fourteen days would be beneficial.

As far as my expectations go I didn’t expect to float out of there as I did. Still sore but pain free and floating none the less.

I don’t really take the time to write reviews like this, however if this helps encourage someone in pain to make an appointment and seek help then that is a good thing. I can wholeheartedly recommend a visit and treatment these guys.

I really enjoyed my remedial massage from Jamil. He even gave me a tennis ball to continue my practicing pressure point activity.

The remedial message by Kana was amazing! My body is very stiff and has knotted muscles all over the place, but after getting the message, I can immediately feel the improvement and less stiffness overall. Would highly recommend!

I had issues with my right and left shoulder front delts. I'm glad that I was able to get in touch with Jamil who treated me over few sessions to fix the underlying issues.

Jamil was great. He really took the time to talk and listen to my concerns and to understand the cause of my pain and explain the treatment for me. After my first Myotherapy massage, I immediately felt better and I was also given exercises to do at home. Highly recommend.

I saw Matthew for myotherapy on an acute knee pain and more chronic shoulder/back pain and he went above and beyond in his treatment, treating my whole body, not just the areas with flare ups. He also went above and beyond to make sure I understood what may have been the issue and how to improve it as well as giving me really manageable and achievable after care options! I'll be back for sure:)

Kana was exceptional, I had an acute neck spasm and she was able to get me back and operational immediately with some great tips for after care to speed recovery.

My second visit to Jamil for muscular issues - he seems to get it right each time. Jamil's knowledge and hands on skills have been very beneficial for separate issues. Targeted treatment with helpful tips on recovery and after session care. I can recommend with great confidence.
