Village Family Motor Inn reviews
70 Hands down the worst room I stayed in while visiting Tasmania, No A/C in the room, basin taps leaking, taps very hard to turn, shower leaking, room smelling of bleach when first arrived, had to air room to be habitable. TV way to small and not HD so only has 3 channels, kids game room had lots of machines to play but all switched off, pool says open till 9pm but closed and locked early, now dealing with disappointed children. Room booked for 4 people only had cutlery for 3.
Good location, average price, great view from our room, quiet,
Very old fashion motel, going back in the 90s. It’s run down and very neglected. No shampoo, no conditioner, no hair dryer.these are every day essentials and all we had were empty bottles, not happy Jan!
Would not be staying next time round.
Affordable price, rooms match this, in desperate need for a refurb but comfortable nonetheless
No hot water, leaks on carpet under sink, no spare pillows, no restaurant as advertised, hairdryer didn't work, no towels available for pool apart from room bathroom towel. Couldn't recommend to anyone.
Doubt my linen was even changed before I stayed. Bottom sheet had definitely been slept in, or at least not made properly.
No restaurant and old, dated rooms.
I'll give it a miss next time.
Cupboard doors hanging off. No racks to the fridge door so you couldn't use that area. Toilet moved side to side as it wasn't bolted to the floor properly. Not enough crockery or cutlery until we complained. Restaurant is shut and has been for over 2 years and so has the bar but the signs outside still advertise them. Not properly cleaned. Staff were pleasant although food went missing after the "cleaners" had been in. Very seedy and has a bad reputation among locals which we found out too late!
Stayed here Thursday night left Sunday morning.the cups and saucers were not cleaned.coffee and tea stains around the top.the paper bag the cutlery was in was stained by coffee and tea spots. Chocolate under the bed.not vacumed so bed was just pushed over it.pillow slip on 1 bed was flat as and had a white mark on it I sponged it off.
Went out to sit on the verandah, I looked over.the rail.on the ground was a not so white towel, 24 empty cans, 3 plastic bottles cardboard etc not a good look. Yes the room might of been cheap but owners and staff could make rooms and grounds a lot cleaner and more enjoyable.to stay at. Come on Village get out of the office and open your eyes.
Tied rooms. Needs a lot of money ubdating the rooms. Bed should be thrown out. Slept on springs.
Nice motel for stop between Devonport and Hobart. Beware of running out of hot water during peak time at night.
Last motel in Tasmania you'd want to stay in. Dirty carpets with ingrained dirt and stains; a heater that a didn't work; a tap in the shower fell off; difficult to adjust hot/cold water; they advertised a heated pool and sauna- the water was cold and the sauna wasn't working; the smallest possible wall television; a low lounge sideways to the tv; and a cheap, nasty, bumpy mattress. Disgraceful
Good rooms size wise, rooms are fairly dirty and outdated
pool is nice and spa when its working
shower was clogged and would't drain
will stay here again though:)
Rooms are very old, playground is probably getting to the point where it's a bit unsafe for kids, pool wasn't heated, spa wasn't heated, cheap for a reason.
Probably one of the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. I am sure this place was the crown of Launceston back in the early 80's. Unfortunately not a cent has been spent on the place. The oven is the same as my grandma had and the door even folds to the floor! The toilet never stops flushing. The show has a curtain. I did not even know they still were a thing. The BBQ area has no gas. The sauna is not even turned on. The restaurant is no longer open. The beds are like sleeping on a spring that sends you both into the middle. There are no extra pillows and the ones that are there are like sleeping on a pancake. There are stains in the carpet. Noise from the road across the gully. This room cost $280 a night and I am now staying in a AirBNB that is the same price and it is a house! DO NOT STAY HERE. OR IF YOU DO THEN INSPECT THE ROOM /BED FIRST. IF I PAID $100 THEN I WOUKD VE OK WITH IT.
Room # 2
Front hard to close, carpet discusting dirty, hole in wall outside to in, curtains couldn't close, bed was broken, mattress was hard -, this room was not fit for people
Friend was staying there to help out with nurse shortages and had all of her clothes stolen from a washing machine. Disgusting
The hotel staff was very helpful and easy to talk to however the hotel is very old and needs some Renewal. The carpet in the room was very dirty and the room a bit smelly. If you are not fussy about the old it’s ok.
Outdated and extremely uncomfortable. The lounge and chairs were like sitting on concrete. Bad smell in room when we arrived. Mould in bathroom and beds were extremely uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
Stuff where grate. Changed towels every day. Big shower. Pool & spa where grate. Bummer they unable do meals. Will stay again.
A nice stay for short trips and stop over, situated near Launceston city which is not even on the outskirts. Rates are very accomodative, rooms are spacious with personal parking.
It is a little dated, but spacious, with magnificent views over Launceston. Lovely big shower cubicle, plenty of cupboard space. Comfortable bed. Note that the restaurant is not currently open.
