I love this place.
Great atmosphere, great food, staff are friendly and polite.it is clean, fresh and the decor is really pretty.the platter I had was fantastic and not over priced.great place to eat or relax with some friends over a platter and a few drinks or some local wines.
If you are travelling around Launceston and not sure where to eat.give this place a try

Extremely poor customer service and problem solving skills. What was a minor issue was turned into a very unprofessional dealing. Very disappointing and embarrassing behaviour from adults acting like children.

We always manage to squeeze in a visit to The Metz when in Launceston as the food is great and the service second to none! I really appreciate their friendly service and can do attitude.

Absolutely divine food. Highly recommend! Great menu options, food was beautifully presented and the flavours were amazing! Friendly happy staff. 10/10 would def come back.

Fantastic experience! Friendly staff and delicious food. It's pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for. So, it's well worth it!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, although it was difficult to communicate and figure out whether the restaurant was open (we tried calling and instagram message). Also, a few items on the menu were sold out - oysters & a specific beer I wanted. But that's fine, it was public holiday and it was very busy - you could see staff was working hard and at a fast pace, so it does need to be taken into account.

We had a beef tartare and a the Mushroom + truffle + prosciutto pizza that was really, really good!

All in all, brilliant food, friendly staff and great environment. It is what matters. 5-star rating. Thanks!

Comment response: Not referring to servers or anything to do with masks. A young girl came out the front and was very rude to us as we were trying to sit at an empty table, myself and three of my friends didn’t even enter the restaurant after the way she spoke to us

Had the most wonderful time today at The Metz, as we always do. My mum and I came all the way up from Hobart to have the Nepali Chicken pizza, which sadly went off the menu just a few days ago! Thankfully, Mackenzie checked with the chef to see if there was something similar on the new menu, and we had the divine Butter Chicken pizza instead. It was absolutely heavenly. Such a lovely place! We will definitely be back in the near future?

Great amount of vegan options, with a pleasant atmosphere and brilliant service staff. Will certainly be back. Thanks for looking after us Holly!

Had a cracker of a time for my sister-in-law's birthday. Couldn't fault it. Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Delicious food. And my mother-in-law paid. Ahaha!

Ahhhmazing! Our waitress was so lovely and fun. The food as usual was great, and the cocktails are always amazing!

Good atmosphere. Had the curried market fish. $40 for around 4 small pieces of pink Ling and around 4 small prawns and made up with some potato pieces. Overpriced for what you receive. Need to add a little more fish and prawns guys to add value to this dish as this was tasty.

The place itself is lovely, features a lot of plant life now, like everywhere else. Was warm and cosy.staff were not very welcoming or warm, actually felt like I shouldn't have been there to be honest. My cocktail was lovely, but again, the young man that made it made me feel very unwelcome.will not return.

Brilliant service above and beyond what is expected which was a great treat, food was lovely and the prices were very fair indeed for this kind of establishment, congratulations to the staff as they really make an effort not normally seem when visiting similar restaurants, definitely a five star experience:)

That's the first time my spouse and I have been there. It's friendly atmosphere, attentive & lovely staff and absolutely delicious food. Highly recommended.

Without offering too much detail let me just say we enjoyed our first night in Launceston at The Metz, we liked it so much we visited again on our return on our last night in Tassie

Went in for Lunch. Delicious Salt and Vinegar burger - large portions! Friendly wait staff - one offered to take our photo which is always a tell tale sign that staff will go above and beyond for their customers. Very nice and clean 10/10 recommend.

Simply the best pizzas I have had in a long time. They are a good size and very tasty with a good range of toppings. The drinks are nice also. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it is worth trying.

Great birthday lunch. The staff were attentive and friendly, the menu varied, good wine selection including local tipples (with added raspberries and cream). We started late so we were there after closing time but they were perfectly lovely about it and didn’t rush us or make us feel uncomfortable. The decor has been renewed and it’s much quieter than before. Totally recommend.
