Wonderful pub/restaurant in the heart of Hobart. I went there specifically for the live music, which was awesome, but the food was also outstanding! I highly recommend their lamb shoulder. It’s super tasty and fills you up really well! The staff was more than friendly and made this experience memorable.

I love this pup, the live music, atmosphere, the staff and their good, tasty, well presented, reasonably priced food. Will be back (probably tomorrow)

Feel really sad to write this - I spent ages looking at family and dietary friendly pubs close by our accom! We had so many options and totally drew the short straw with this place. The reviews for looked really promising. Unfortunately there were many factors that let it down.

I tried to called three times to book for 7ppl and there was no answer. Walked with kids in tow and upon entry were greeted rather awkwardly by being shouted at across the room.

Advised when placing order that pizza would take a very long time - chose other meals as kids fading fast @ 6pm - but it turns out EVERYTHING took a long time! We waited nearly an hour for our meals. The food was cold, the eggplant dish completely under cooked and inedible in my opinion. The whole vibe was really weird. So disappointing. And for the $$ I actually considered asking for my money back.

The only (partially) redeeming factor is that the host did turn out to be super friendly and kind to my kids and I - she apologised for the delay. Everything seemed to be failing tho. Obviously staff issues and I would suggest extremely inexperienced staff in the kitchen? Really felt like a total waste of money!

My daughter and I dined here tonight. I booked mainly due to the positive reviews as we are here on holiday from Melbourne. We couldn’t have been more disappointed. We arrived at 6.00pm on a Saturday evening, no atmosphere at all. Only one person doing the bar and serving meals. We waited an hour with an almost empty tables to receive our meals. I ordered the jumbuck pizza after being told that the fish and chips were not available! I wrongly assumed that after such a long wait that it would be edible but how wrong I could be! The pizza base was the most anaemic looking base I’ve ever experienced… the pizza was supposed to have lamb in it but I did not see any evidence of that. Everything on the pizza was undercooked & inedible. The other meal we ordered was a mushroom risotto. My daughter ate it but said it was the worst she has ever tasted.
I returned my pizza to the bar and told the staff member that it was undercooked- she asked if I wanted it put back in the oven? …. Mmmm NO. When we settled the bill, another person (presumably the manager) tried to charge us for my pizza! Terrible service and food …& no, using the excuse you are under staffed is not an excuse!

I asked about the old pubs and she gave me a book to read about the old pubs of Hobart whilst having dinner.
Built in 1846 and has always been a pub.

Came for dinner early on a Saturday night. Had a great dinner, jumbuck pizzas were sensational, nice and fresh. Fish and chips were well made and slow cooked lamb fantastic. Had a great range if beers, a great relaxed pub feel and friendly staff.

Unbelievable good food plus live jazz and to finish private performance with a whisky topping free

The food was amazing! But it was the warm welcoming vibe and great atmosphere with live musician that really completed our experience, with our two kids, who had a great time too.
The best night out we've had in Hobart! Thank you!

Giving it a 1 star because of the way events are run here. Been to multiple events and each time the owner has been creepy and the bartenders have been creepy. I have felt uncomfortable being there and I feel on edge while I’m there. Last event I went to…the owner asked my friends mum out (note - his wife also works there) and it just threw the whole vibe off. The owner is rude when you try to book an event so frankly, I wouldn’t bother. There’s better places to book an event.

I love the food here, I love the almost rustic ambience, and finally I love the owners. They are such wonderful giving, thinking, contributors.

Great food and lovely service by the waitress, Bella who served me. Would definitely go back again if I’m down in Tassie.

The definition of a reliable local. Great food and a register of good music played on a regular rota. It has something for everyone with tables a large dining area split between two levels and a separate back bar area.

The worst pub and staff in hobart. Understocked at the bar and the food was terrible. Especially after having to wait over an hour to eat. Would not reccommend.

Handy to the Travelodge, nice wood fire, lovely atmosphere and the hosts are so friendly. Food on the Saturday night was good although our friend's scallops were overcooked. We went back again on Wednesday night with 10 people and the food was abysmal, overcooked, burnt, the chicken pizza had no chicken but loads of olives, everyone's meal was so bad. We had a lot of fun with the trivia quizzes and mine host sang happy birthday to me. It is a laid back fun place but the food lets it down badly.

Amazing vegan friendly restaurant. Everything is just what I expect. Lovely service, nice food and drinks. Good vibe. 10/10. Recommended!

Booked this venue for a conjoined 30th birthday Party. The venue had a wet dog smell, dog hair on the white table cloths & glasses, bar tender was new and although he done very well he was under extreme stress being on his own, food was very disappointing, they also ran out of alcohol by 10pm we had paid for the venue till 12, we had to take all our stuff including the cake to a new venue. Did get in contact but no response.

As I am unable to respond to your reply. This was in November 2021. My name would still be in your Bookings. The young bar tender was very stressed and on multiple occasions over & under charged for the same drink. We had packed up and left by 10: 30 as there was no alcohol other than beer. I have 40 guests to confirm.

Had dinner here tonight, spectacular food not like your regular pub grub dripping with oil. The food tasted delicious, the chicken was well done and the veg was amazing. Customer service was excellent, we were served by a man named Doug and had a great chat, lots of local knowledge about the best places to visit in Tassie. If your in the area I would definitely recommend stopping by for a bite.

Had a great dinner, and chat with the guys running it. This is a little gem waiting to be rediscovered.
