The Den Salamanca reviews
74Awesome bar both inside and out! Even the toilets are amazing. The Bao Buns we absolutely beautiful.we spent hours outside on the lounges next to the Fire Pit. Cant wait to come back again.
One word = Hygge (look it up). So cosy, welcoming and comfortable. We sampled a few drinks, soaked up the beautiful interior design and enjoyed the fireplace. Very upmarket but not at all snobby. If I lived in Hobart this would be my "regular"! Loved it!
Came here for some drinks before our dinner. It was recommended to us by MONA staff and we really enjoyed it. Excellent set up with a great selection of beers and cocktails. I really liked the Bloody Mary we had. If you like it spicy and a bit saltier, than check it out. Friendly staff and excellent location.
The atmosphere and aesthetics at The Den are unreal. It has that classic ski lodge vibe on the main waterfront strip in hobart. The flame pits out front and inside were unbelievably cool and oh so cosy. A good place to stop with friends get warm and have a food or something to drink.
Great place to escape the cold and enjoy a glass of something. Shiraz house was pretty good but the service was better. Friendly, cozy and beautiful atmosphere. Great way to while away a few afternoon hours.
An inviting space both inside and out. Outside heaters and fires make for a warm cozy rest after exploring Salamanca place. The cocktails and share food are delicious. A beautiful piece of history renovated tastefully. Would be a regular drinking spot if I lived in this part of Australia.
Great cocktails and very opulent interior design! The bartenders and patrons are always friendly and certainly one of the places to be on a Saturday night in Hobart!
We loved everything. To list a few of the good points;
Food modern and well done perfect for the venue being small table almost tapis.
Music DJ was great and not too loud.
Fires gave great atmosphere and warmth.
Drinks great selection and priced ok.
Decor stunning
Trendy bar in the heart of Salamanca, if you a craft beer fan they have a pretty decent selection on tap.
This place had such a great vibe. I had a couple of drinks and tried the poppers. They were awesome. I had one of the loaded fries but cant remember which one.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff, the Den felt very cosy while maintaining a clean style. The food and drinks were perhaps on the expensive side, but were not disappointing, and they had an extensive range. I could forseeably see myself spending hours there in an intimate setting.
Lovely setting but evening ruined by horrible food, and staff who didn't care. Reading thru the reviews below, others have had the same problem - dreadful dim sum basket which according to the manager is frozen and then pre cooked. The manager said the owner does not listen and insists on keeping this on the menu.
Not bad, usually enjoy this place but last visit was very disappointing, the barman took my money, then dropped ice into my drink with his hands instead of using the tongs, maybe minor but not the way most handle money and food
Had a booking made on line by a friend. No care factor by staff, not even eye contact from anyone when we walked in. We eventually were sent upstairs to then be sent downstairs to be placed on a table which was occupied by people that were asked to move over so sixo of us could fit. We walked out and went else where.
