The Den Salamanca reviews
74What a lovely way to spend a Sunday! Great live music, delicious and interesting food with a japanese theme and gorgeous surroundings. Attentive staff and full choice at the bar! Can't ask for more.
An entire shelf of local Tasmanian gins + a delectable crisped pork with pickled daikon. Espresso martini is also exquisite. Tiago’s the homie he’ll take care of ya
Lovely atmosphere with open fires the modern way. Can sit and talk quite easily with family and friends. Intimitt with loved one.
The Den is a lovely spot to have food & drinks at any time of day! They have an aaray of options on the meanu that will tickle anyones fancy.
Very happy with my visit there today between 2pm & 3pm I took two important business associates for a few drinks / nibbles and the table serves was amazing.
Love when bartenders are open to make drinks according to your preferences. It’s just about telling what u like and they’ll surprise you with a nice cocktail. Such a unforgettable experience. Well designed, TOP!
I was here new years eve.
Jazz band great and had the pleasure of some entertainers who put on a supurb performance.
Staff busy, but had plenty of smiles and gave great happy service.
A themed evening, so I could dress up. I didn't order food, but saw plates coming out that looked amazing.
I'll be back to experience more for sure
A gem in the middle of Salamanca. Such a beautiful bar/restaurant. Warming by all the wood decor and gorgeous fireplace and super inviting and airy. The food was incredibly cooked and flavored. The thick cut potato fries were crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The crumbled pork belly was also crispy on the outside and juicy inside and the side dressing was deliciously spicy and creamy without being overpowering. The honey soy chicken wings were coated with a flavoursome crisp coating and could be dipped into the honey soy side sauce but honestly they were delicious on their own also. Its does get a little busy on a Saturday afternoon but walk ins are more than welcome.
Now to the cocktails. Only tried one the "French Oak Fashioned " and I have to say one of my favorites here in Tasmania. The bartender did it perfectly. He burnt some oak then place the glass upside down on the wood to let the smoke sediment settle inside the glass then he mixed the remaining ingredients and poured it into the cocktail glass then adding the final touches of dried orange and aniseed and giving it a quick blow torch to create more aromas within the glass. Incredible!
You'll have 2 indoor levels and outdoor seating. There is no free WiFi available.
Came here for drinks. It is a warm and inviting venue with great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive. There are lovely warm fires both inside and out. There is also bars on the ground floor and upstairs.
Highly rate the Salmon Skewers & Crumbed Pork Belly, flavours were sensational, service was friendly & super quick
Good vibe.food was very tasty.a bit different to your normal pub food with a slight asian twist.the salt and pepper squid was the best I've tasted in a long time
We ate here for dinner (small share plates) went back the next day for coffee
They have fires inside and outside which where great as it was freezing!
Good DJ playing a mix of easy listening music.not too loud so made for a great atmosphere and good vibe
Delicious share platters of a variety of tasty foods, prepared and served elegantly. The design of the restaurant features panels of fascinating carved and etched Huon pine, lending a honey-coloured glow to the lighting. The drinks were of course quite over-priced, but not enough to spoil the meal.why must they do that? Otherwise a fine luncheon experience. Might be better to drink water.
Great location, good beers on tap, fantastic venue and the bao are exceptional. Came here on our way past for the $5 Bao special (12-3pm daily). We went back for a second round and came back later in the week. Definitely worth a visit when in Hobart!
Expensive-looking decor, expensive drinks, cheap furniture. Very noisy, even when it's almost empty. Bar staff are friendly.
Second visit was as good as our first.
Booked a table but were happy to sit and wait for a better table and chairs.
Food is a stand out had salmon skewers, crumbed pork belly and bao buns.
A lot of people seem to use the Den as a pre dinner drink spot and move on to other places.
Staff are amazing including security and go above and beyond in the service department.
Will return again when in the area great fit out as well.
Apple Isle cocktail was a little underwhelming taste wise, and a big block of ice in the middle makes it appear to be more than it is. Gas fire for warmth was good though.
Great selection drinks, half price cocktails a winner, great ambience. Best one we visited and we saw a few! Need to go elsewhere for food. The Den around the corner did the job
CMe here for lunch with friends. Service food and drinks ambiance and the decor was great. Would be nice if there was some larger tables but this seems more of a cocktail bar with good food than a restaurant with good drinks.
Great spot to kick off a night or early afternoon drink in Salamanca - the wine, cocktails and snacks are all very appealing and a special shout out to the Jalopeno poppers which are awesome. The service and ambience is also spot on, particularly in the winter months!
Great place to relax. I had a negroni and a signature old fashioned. Negroni absolutely on point, and the old fashioned was spectacular with a freshly charred star anise (charred on a French oak barrel length) to cap the drink. Highly recommend.
First time in the world I have been declined from charging my phone behind a bar, with my own cord and plug mind you. It’s the “owners policy” is what I was told by the chummy lass. Responsible for the 4 people in the place.
Anyway on we go.
