Tavern Bar & Bistro reviews
68Caught out as bistro closed for renovations. Went to the restaurant instead. Only after a snack for lunch so had the calamari with a side of chips. Lovely setting and friendly staff. Calamari was delicious/tender and chips were good too.
We wandered in here after a day of seeing the park and had one of our best meals on Tasmania. Cradle Burger, the Grilled Chicken Burger, and the Fish and Chips were all excellent. Also a good selection of local beers and wines!
This place is awesome! The meals were amazing and huge and will fill you up for a day! The kids meals were gourmet too and food selection of drinks and wine all in a lovely alpine setting. Definitely recommend - and you dont have to be staying there either to enjoy!
Very popular casual dining at Peppers. No booking required- just show up. It’s very busy between 6-8pm and the wait for food can be up to an hour - but there’s a bar and free fast WiFi so the time goes quick! Alternatively, come before 6 or after 8pm.
Portions are huge, and comforting, perfect after a long days hiking. Service is friendly and helpful. Lively atmosphere.
We had to hunt around a little for this restaurant once inside the Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge- it's to the left of reception, at the back past the ladies toilet. We ordered a chicken burger, beef burger, carbonara, Mediterranean spaghetti and all were delicious. The meats for the burgers had that nice flame grilled taste. I had the devilish chocolate pudding the next day and that was also yummy; not too sweet. The prices are high, but like another reviewer said, not crazily so for a remote place. At least the food tastes great, unlike what we had several years ago at a similarly remote and pricey national park in the U. S.
Delicious food and friendly staff, but they need to work on managing busy periods and setting customers expectations on wait time. We waited 45 min for food
Beef burger was really good and tasty with crispy fries. Potato and cauliflower soup was not good.
