Swinging Gate Vineyard

An incredible destination with outstanding service. Our stay at Domescapes was magical and made so much fun by Owner Doug and beautiful dog Nellie. Not to mention the quality of the wines was beautiful, Doug even showed us around and let us in on what’s to come! Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed!

The hosts at the swinging gate are really friendly and knew their wines. Very good experience, with many tasty wines to choose from.

Most wines are vegan, loved all the ones I tasted, couldn't pick a favourite! Friendly staff too and a beautiful dog Nellie!

Really good tasting experience, it is $7.50 for tasting hut if you buy a bottle you don't need to pay. We loved the Pinot Grigio, Pinot Gris and the frontignac. The wood fired pizzas were very popular and we wish we had room for them. We walked away with several frontignac and are looking forward to quaffing whilst in Tasmania and taking a few home.

This was a wonderful tasting experience, with friendly and helpful staff and a diverse range of wines. Child friendly with a lovely dog and kind staff. Highly recommend.

This place is perfection. The owners are salt of the earth, warm, generous, delightful people who make delicious wine! The Saturday-only wood-fired pizzas are divine and the chef caters for non-dairy people too (hurray!). Rustic, delightful and worth the visit. If you have the time, book in with Corrie at the day spa, she’s wonderful just like everything else here.

Your standards plus a whole heap of wines outside the box. A great host and a huge list of choices. Don’t forget to pet Nellie as you walk in the door.

We had a wonderful experience at Swinging Gate Vineyard! We stayed in the domes for 3 nights and frequented the cellar door to pat Nellie, chat with Doug and drink the delicious wines. The wines were delicious and it was very interesting to taste the variation between years and the different amount of time on skins. We learnt so much about wine making and the region when we were there and would highly recommend a visit! The vineyard itself was beautiful and the domes were very comfortable and stylish. At the end of the stay, Doug sent all the wines we had accumulated throughout our trip and sent them back to our home in Adelaide (they arrived safely!). Thank you so much to Doug, Corrie and Nellie for being so kind and accommodating! Chloe, Steven (and our own beautiful Staffy, Sox, who would love to have met Nellie).

What a wonderful time we spent at Swinging Gate Vineyard! I couldn’t think of a greater place to do a wine tasting. Doug is a fantastic host! We were so welcome, looked after and kindly treated- it left us speechless.
The atmosphere is down to earth and relaxed. But at the same time the wines are so good, beyond delicious and I would say creative & innovative. If you’re looking for something new and inspiring- don’t miss out on this place!

The cutest vineyard in the Launceston region and definitely our favourite. Inventive wines, brilliant tasting session, and of course a perfect setting.

This place is fantastic. I didn't find the wine that I fancy, but simply cuz I am a fan of sweet wine like moscato. They dont have it. But, their wines are great! Doug was so lovely in explaining during the wine tasting, and Nelly the dog is delightful! I really enjoy my time time there. 13/10 would suggest you to go here.

Doug and his wife were just the best Tassie experience you can ask for. They were both lovely, their dog was cute and their wine were the best we tried. It’s a must stop for the wine / people lovers. Cheers!

One of the best tasting experiences I’ve had. Beautiful setting & cellar door made by Doug leading the tasting. Great Pinot, sparkling, whites & some interesting others! Looking forward to ordering the amarone, thanks Doug

My two mates and I have been travelling around Tassie sampling various home grown foods and above all Swinging Gate has truly been the highlight of our foody adventures. Doug very generously gave us his time to taste a dozen or more of their fine wines. Nellie the staffy is an amiable companion during this experience. Combined with the wonderfully picturesque locality of the property you are guaranteed a visit that will last a life time.

Probably the most enjoyable winery we've been to in Tassie. The owner is a great wine lover who will guide you through the long list of tasting. Nelly the dog keeps the company when you're enjoying your sips.

Friendly, laid back winery with some nice and different tasting wines. Very unique cellar door too. Bonus was their cute dog Nellie that loved attention
