Swinging Gate Vineyard reviews
68Our favourite vineyard in the Tamar. Delicious wine and passionate owners who are really in it for the love
A little winery that feels like home, with wooden tables and the lovely Etta sharing her favourite wines with us. We enjoyed the rustic ambience and were privileged to meet the famous Nelly, the wine dog who came to welcome us on arrival. My favourite wine was the delicate frontignac, since I’m partial to whites.
This is the best tasting I have ever been to. Doug was very knowledgeable and friendly, and his wines were divine!
We had a lovely time visiting Swinging Gate. Doug spent time chatting with us about the history of the property and answered our many questions about making wine. Nellie the wine dog was lovely company too - would recommend you visit!
Great tasting experience.
Really different wines (including Nat Pet and Clay Pot/ Peco).
Strongly recommend! Our favourite experience so far!
Me and my friend had a wonderful time! The wines are beautiful and the hosts just amazing. And the delicious food was such a treat. Thank you Doug, Corrie and of course Nellie. We definitely will be back!
Awesome place! Had a great time tasting wine (and their pet nat cider). Pizzas were delicious. Big shout out to Nellie the dog!
My wife and I had a wine tasting here with Doug who was exceptional in both knowledge and passion. The wines were fantastic too! I’ll be following Swinging Gate in the future to see what other beautiful wines they bring out.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Large variety of wines for all tastes, and some with an original twist. A delightful afternoon!
Wonderful place. Went there for a tasting and had a great experience. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable and happy to spend the time letting you know their process. We walked out with a box to be shipped home. They are doing something rather unique there and I highly recommend you check them out.
Great service and very knowledgeable wine tasting from a family run business. Highly recommend visiting.
Amazing experience, a generous sampling accompanied with a detailed explanation. The host was friendly, welcoming and gave us plenty of time.
Primarily whites, unique but exquisite some Pet Nats included.
Beautiful place, had a great time. Generous servings of wine, lovely atmosphere and great service! We will be back:)
Great cellar door for a proper wine tasting. Many unusual, low intervention wines that are very well executed. Staff / owners here are very knowledgeable and friendly and are happy to chat about the wines. Especially loved the skin contact Pinot Gris, dry Frontignac and the Georgian styled Wild Child.
Great place to stop and relax, surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. Doug was very welcoming and helpful, we only wanted to try a few wines but he convinced us we needed to try more, plus a few extras we requested! Went home with a bottle of Pet Nat Reisling.
What an amazing start to our honeymoon! The family run vineyard was so friendly and accomodating. Their wine list was really unique and it was great to try something different along with wood fired pizzas which were terrific. The Domes were clean, cosy and had an amazing view of the vineyard.
Would definitely recommend staying here 10/10
Don’t often leave reviews but was a brilliant experience here, lovey setting and some beautiful wines. One of my favourites.
Very friendly and great wine, definitely would recommend to anyone regardless of wine tasting experience
Awesome wine tasting, great host and a cutie pie winery dog. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
Fantastic wine tasting experience. This multigenerational winery, day spa, accomodation enterprise is just a great day out.
It was like being looked after like you have just visited a long lost friends home. Also lots of discovering wines I had never encountered before, all supported by personable hospitality and knowledge and interesting storytellers made for a perfect afternoon.
We had planned for a normal 30-60 minute stop to taste, buy what we liked and move on.we stayed for hours!
The pizza was just what we needed as we arrived, fresh and beautiful wood fired delight that set the stage for the wines that we were about taste. The family has two ranges that are just exceptional and some that are experimental that are just amazing.
We bought a lot more than we were expecting to - such unique wines and yet familiar and accessible easy drinking as well.
Highest praise to the family for making our day such an enjoyable one - we will be back!
