Strahan Village reviews
81Great little town did not stay so I cannot comment, stopped in Queenstown motor lodge, I do not recommend 120dollars a night the bed and pillows were badly stained and blood who ever put last review is a drop kick also I booked a double room and got singles, I pay for clean not filth
From purple Sunrise to peach/orange Sunset, the place lit itself up every single time. Loved the old town feel.
Had the room in the carpark (1137) which was nicely appointed but surrounded on 3 sides by a carpark and road. Cars, buses and RVs were being driven in and out all day and night. On arrival at 1: 30pm, we were told our room was “not ready” so we sat on the deck waiting for it to be so - no-one in room readying it during that time so clearly the policy is that all rooms are “not ready” by default until 2 pm regardless of actual readiness. I think the room should be repurposed as in such a horrible position.
Great buffet fantastic view from the room, my only observation is the rooms are very outdated but comfortable and clean.
Strahan Village is a very large complex set on top of a hill. Reception is at street level, then it's a walk up the hill via approx 80 timber steps plus a graded incline. You do drive your car around a roadway and park in one of the parking lots nearest your room. Firstly, Reception area is very nice, with friendly welcoming staff. Ours was a family type room, very large which was nice. It included a round dining table with 4 chairs. These were the only seating provided, no lounge or easy chairs. The bathroom was good, with shower over bath. The accomodation was clean and functional (apart from lack of casual seating). On the top level, there is a restaurant and Bar with lots of casual seating and amazing views out over the water and the wharves/waterfront areas.
Location, location, location. None better in this beautiful little village. Would love to return.
We stayed here for a night. Very old and charming town. Our room was facing the Long Bay and the marina.
Unless you're staying in the picturesque village, the motel at the top of the walkway is pretty average. Not much to do here except take a river cruise. Don't stay here long.
Below standard i was expecting very old & run down. If you are into yellow mustard baby poo walls & olive green carpet you will feel right at home in this blast from another the past. Unfortunately advertising makes the whole thing look a whole lot nicer than real life.
Rooms bit old but good views and specious.
Need to carry luggage with little walk.its in the seashore. Staffs friendly.
Matbe I expected too much but its a very small village and only used it as a base for the Gordon river cruise and Wilderness rail
The rooms are pretty disgusting for the price. Really outdated and would not stay here here again. The advertising for this place really makes it look alot nicer than real life
Old and very dated, limited accommodation options in the area, would suggest physically looking at the rooms before booking
Nice location with excellent hospitality from customer service team. It was really nice experience with beautiful esplanade view. In addition, we had a welcome drinks from 42 degree or another Bar which was an aroma in gold. Had nice experience!
Had an amazing time. On arrival there was a small mix up with our room and when the FOH staff where notified they upgraded us to a suit. Staff are 10/10
Very good customer service at the front counter when we Check-In even it's quiet season for the town.
Staff and service are excellent. The rooms are spacious with good views, if a bit old and tired. Really enjoyed my time there and would stay again.
Staff was nice, hotel room was clean and close to Gordon River Cruise ferry terminal but the hotel room was outdated. The parking ground had pebbles, making it difficult to push trolley luggage. We had to drag our trolley luggage uphill to get to our room.
If you are not taking a 6 hour river cruise then Strahan is not worth the drive. Plenty of better places to spend time in Tasmania that are just as serene, remote and more beautiful. Glad we drove there but equally glad we didn't invest more time in it.
If you are on a short trip pass on Strahan and head to the north west instead. You will be glad you did.
Had a great time at Strahan Village. We had great views over the water and village. The room was large with a sitting area and bedroom area and beautifully clean bathroom. The balcony was a great bonus.
