Strahan Village reviews
81Location of this place is the best…. Beautiful water views…service is nice with easy check in and check out facility…but the rooms stink of dampness…hallway carpet is very old and stained.
Would not recommend the cottages, unfortunately they are quite aged and facilities within them are well overdue for a renovation inside. Other accommodation options within the village appears to be much nicer, but unfortunately we were booked in a cottage by our Travel Agent. We did however really enjoy the Breakfast Options available at both the local bakery & the stunning views from their clifftop restaurant!
We had two rooms- one a big comfortable and clean room overlooking harbour. Second room was very quaint 2 bed cottage on harbour walk- very big rooms, clean and comfortable. Very easy walking access to shops and tours, friendly staff.
Wouldn’t come to this town again, nothing here except a pub (Hamer) with incompetent and rude staff, locals are not friendly at all. Waste of time coming to Strahan unless you’re here to catch a boat which I wasn’t. Village waterfront room 3 star max, very old, terrible pillows, tiny fridge, tiny balcony, tv was fine, and shower water pressure good.
The whole area is relied on tourism and a lot of the establishments (accommodations, restaurants, cruises, attractions) are related. There aren't a lot in a small town but if you are making a trip to Strahan, be prepared there aren't many choices for different things (due to the remote location of a small town & everything are related).
The staff are friendly. The room is clean & neat but a little worn out. The location is great though as it's 2 doors from the cafe & Tavern, right in front of the water.
But for the price and the quality of the room, it's way over-priced. I admitted it's peak season but it's the most expensive accommodations for the least quality amongst all we stayed with nearly 3 weeks.
Great location, rooms clean comfortable and nice. The only downside, after staying in various locations in TAS is the price does not justify what is being offered.
Very disappointing. Very little here except for pub. Accommodation is utterly disgusting. Only meal available is a $60 buffet
There is a bub run buy the same people. The Pub expensive and very limited selection of meals. For a tourist area this is a real real disappointment.
I wouldn't come back. Wish we hadn't come at all.
From Check in to Check out. I can't fault the experience. Friendly service and Helpful Staff. Great Piece of Tassy.surrounded by great Peace
Great to visit before the crowds return. Beautiful village in tranquil settings. Lots of local craft, history and tours to experience. Wilderness on the doorstep of Strahan truly breathtakingly beautiful
Location and room was good but don't expect to sleep in if your on the ground floor as you hear every step people make in the rooms upstairs.
My family and I were very fortunate to be able to stay in one of the cosy waterfront cottages in the hauntingly majestic town of Strahan. The rooms were very neat and well presented. The views were fantastic and the price is absolutely worth it. The staff were all friendly and the young lady at reception (I believe her name was Kiesha) was extremely wonderful and very happy to help us out with any issues. I will definitely recommend staying here if you find yourself traveling on the west coast of Tassie.
Strahan was Beautiful. Fresh but not wet.
Everyone so welcoming and friendly!
The Village is like a spread out Resort withdining areas as part of the accommodation but spread out throughout the Village and can be charged back to your room.
An absolute MUST is to attend the Show The Ship that Never Was. Brilliant, Clever, FUN, Witty.the actors draw you into their story with ease, try to see before you go on the River Cruise.
Thanks Strahan.we Loved You!?
Vintage feels! We had an amazing time in this hotel. Thery were in a great location, and spreaded into many small buildings. You would feel like in movies and gives you Europe feels. We stayed in Huon building. The amenities were old as the building was built earlier. We had a spa on our room? They have a bar and a restaurant with stunning views.will go back soon!
Fantastic place to stay. Staff are all happy and helpful! Beds are super comfortable, awesome showers. Highly recommend this place for sure!
We enjoyed our stay at Strahan village Hilltop executive room when we walked in and saw the view we didn't worry about anything else really. Nothing was any trouble for staff. The check- in list of business's surrounding us was helpful which supplied opening and closing hours. They booked our railway tour. The RACT discount was really worth using. A great stay.
Nice village in the remote west coast of Tasmania. Interesting history in an amazing location. However, 2 nights is enough time to see everything.
Our accommodation was ok, great location and very clean.
The food at the kitchen (a separate building in the village was very nice and staff were friendly.
Location is great. Views from some rooms is spectacular others not so. The WiFi can be a bit laggy at times.
Location is great. Easy to check in, and definitely good value for money. Rooms are spacious and are very clean. I would Definitely return to this motel. Breakfast and wifi is available. Restaurant onsite is
descent and has a great view.
The ship that never was. It's been running continuously for 26 years and is different every performance.
Very funny but informative at the same time
The staff were extremely helpful, and immediately connected us to the Wi-Fi when we asked. It was very fast and reliable, especially for Tassie. The highlight of our visit in to Tasmania. Bravo! 10 out of 10 would recommend.
