Scamander Beach Hotel Motel

The accommodation was adequately priced and clean (except the carpet, that was disgusting). The other facilities of the resort were great. Pool was not heated but hit the spot on a hot day, park was great. A short stroll from the beach. The restaurant was fantastic. The service from a red headed woman was the best i have ever recieved, so accommodating for us and our young children. I would stay again, i wish the rooms were abit bigger though.

Nothing seems to have changed. We stayed there years ago and it was the same. Run down and not so friendly receptionist.

Stayed as part of playing a gig with the Blues Brothers Revival Band. Comfy rooms, amazing view, excellent restaurant, excellent service.

The room was clean and had all the normal appointments. The chef at the restaurant was exceptional. The steaks we had we're cooked to perfection. (See the pic of the steak). The parmy was huge. We really enjoyed the food. It was a bit pricey but that would be expected when you are the only restaurant in town. The motel staff were universally helpful and positive. From the front desk through the restaurant to the cleaners. They were only too happy to help no matter how trivial the request. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

Room was very tired and looked dirty. Hopefully the new owners who took over the day we left will do a lot of renovations

It had all the basics that is required in the bedrooms. Very strong shower pressure Variety of facilities - pool, tennis, playground, large-sized games, restaurant /bar and laundry. Location fairly central to going up North East and South East about 15- 60 mins drive. Wayne and Barb at the reception were very helpful and friendly. We got the room overlooking the sea and the pool which was refreshing. The pool and games is enough to keep the kids entertained. They just loved playing in the pool. Restaurant food is not bad either. A decent stop over accomodation between travels. Practical, simple, non-fancy living motel that is fairly priced. Expectations should be tailored to the price and service of the motel. The staffs are readily helpful if you require change of towels, toiletries top-up or loose coins for laundry. Just have to ask at the reception (not expect hotel service). Ample parking space.

Suggestions for improvement- a coat of paint especially the walkway to the rooms or areas that are fairly run down could change and improve the feel of the environment. The side panel of the lift door is fairly worn out. The standing fan blades in the rooms can be cleaned and some areas of the room could be more dusted. We could hear the plumbing works of the neighbouring room each time the tap is used. Didn’t bother us. Some areas (internal or external) can be touched up to improve the appearance of the run down areas.

Overall, as long you are not expecting the frills, it is a comfortable and decent stop over place to stay. We enjoyed our stay. Convenient location.

Reception couldn't tell us where the room was! Bottle shop service was terrible only 1 bar person doing meals and serving the bar. Hotel decor early 70's. Room has no towels. Shower for Hobbit sized people. But it was cheap only $130 per night.

This resort is amazing:) the kindest, most helpful, beautiful staff you could ever hope for in a place you are going to stay. Shout out to the beautiful reception lady who helped book our stay and Wayne, one of the best hotel managers in Australia:) also shout out to the lovely bar and restaurant staff:) the staff here, each and every one of them is just beautiful:) we had a lovely stay:) beautiful view, comfy bed, lovely modern decor in room an facilities, swimming pool, tennis court and all in a prime location directly across the road from the beautiful scamander Beach:) also directly across the rd on two different corners were a lovely coffee shop called "swims east coffee" and a newsagent/Cafe /take away shop that had seats with views out to the beach:) thank you for making our new years eve the best I've had in 53 years:) 5 star all the way:) highly, highly recommended this hotel:)

We ate in the restaurant and had a good meal.
The fantastic service from the staff is the standout. The welcoming and seating were one of the best I have had without paying for 6 star service. All of the team members were very friendly and helpful.
Would come back again, but unfortunately, we are leaving the area tomorrow

The photos didn’t match the quality, nor did the price we paid on the room. I get we turned up in peak period, but the price we paid per night was astronomical considering it appears they don’t reinvest any of it.

The important parts were clean, and the restaurant had good food, but the beds need replacing, the entire place needs an uplift (including the electricity that was so limited a phone charger would trip the light in the room).

Totally overpriced (we paid $500/room/night during the holidays, booked via Wotif, probably a mistake) for a dirty, old room (dust, burning marks in carpet, paint coming of the wall, towels smelled like cigarets, black stains on sheets, …)

Yesterday's night stay at the hotel was absolutely terrible, for many reasons. We walked in to find the quilt cover with a large coffee stain, which wasn't too much of a problem at that point in time. However we called for assistance and they gave us a blanket instead which was not what we asked for. So we called back and they said they were out of quilt covers! They had the audacity to say that they were out of quilt cover. Really now! A hotel without extra quilt covers. However I'm giving this a 2 star because of the really kind lady that helped us even though her shift is over at the restaurant and she still found time to help newcomers to their rooms. I am still very disappointed at the poor effort to help people have a satisfactory stay at the hotel.

DISGUSTING service. The bathroom floor was filthy and the shower was full of mould. There was no hot water and when we checked out in the morning they said they were aware, they even knew of this issue prior to us booking but didn’t feel it was necessary to let us know there was no hot water. He said I’m sorry you felt that way and didn’t offer any refunds. The quality of the rooms do not match the online photos. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This is in a great location. The rooms are still in need of lots of attention, to open the sliding door you needed to lift it.they are slightly improving. The dinner was actually quite good, breakfast as well except for the bread. Service has really improved. I understand it’s a little out of the way so may not be able to warrant the money that needs to be spent. I’d stay again at least it was clean and the beds were good. Shower runs hot and cold

The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, however it was very disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t opened due people got sick, I wish they would notice us earlier through the phone call or email, so we can plan better. Besides, the bathroom in the Deluxe twin ocean view room is very small and the soundproof is terrible as we can hear the next room using their bathroom. In general, the resort is nice but won’t choose this type of room anymore.

Clean well appointed room with wonderful views. Excellent restaurant on site. Staff friendly and helpful

Comfy beds. Warm shower, lovely view. Beautiful meals at the Restaurant. All staff were very friendly. Only suggestion I could make is that the room doors would benefit having a latch to hold the door open.

Great location and service! Highly recommend stopping for a beer. We stopped for lunch and a game of pool can see the beach from the pool table!
