Olde Tudor Hotel reviews
70Spotlessly clean. Large rooms with ample room to move. Large bathroom. Great pub meals at good prices. Friendly staff
Quite nice, no road noise, clean and well presented rooms. Very nice staff. At breakfast the Coffee machine, which was an automatic machine was terrible and breakfast was so so. Sort those few little things and it would have been excellent.
Really liked this hotel. Couple friendly. Family friendly. Everything here. Restaurant. Bar. TAB betting. Pool. Sauna. Spa. Dining area. All amenities within 2 Min walking distance. A great old park for kids! Friendly staff and concierge
Inexpensive. Definitely recommend
TL: DR - do not stay here.
All mattresses were allegedly replaced by management a day or two before my family arrived, and everybody complained. Not just us, I mean literally everybody. The management obviously purchased the cheapest option, then had to buy out Launceston's supply of mattress toppers to mitigate total disaster after guest feedback, but still every morning the aches and pains of sleeping on the finest Tasmanian plywood were evident when observing people leaving their units.
Kids Club advertised does not exist. Playground is positively Soviet Era depressing, if you can make it there through the piles of rubbish collecting beside the entry gate. We tried to do some laundry in the unit, the dryer didn't work so had to resort to a combination of heated towel rack and bathroom heater lamps to dry out clothes. Attempted to call Duty Manager, bar staff answered then hung up. At least the meal we had in the bistro didn't make us ill, it was over priced though.
They did earn one star because our unit did not leak during the rain.
If you are a family staying in Launceston, I recommend finding an AirBNB close to Cataract Gorge Reserve. They have an awesome pool and playground there and I'm sure the beds would be comfier.
On the plus side there is a bottle shop on site, so if you drink enough the overall despair you feel at the run down facilities will be softened by hard liquor. On arrival I noticed one of the windows of the bottle shop was broken, and in the five days we stayed there, rather than replace said window, a shipping pallet was placed against the wall half covering the opening. If the management have such a lax attitude to securing one of their primary income streams, how much do they care about a guest who has already paid for their accommodation?
Great find - Looks old on the outside but our room had been refurbished with great bathroom reno. Comfy beds, great pillow, reverse cycle & great mini bar. We had dinner in the Bistro. Right next to supermarket, chemist, bottle shop & takeaway shops.
Staff were very friendly, on site bistro food was amazing (and didn’t have to wait long) and the room was well priced, and so spacious and clean! Would definitely recommend!
First visit - terribly disappointing!
A Christmas Luncheon of about 20 people.
Clean surroundings.
Only 2 staff on and they were running all the time. They could not be faulted with their attitude or service that they delivered.
But the food, reported to me, was close to inedible - mine was inedible!
Mine was "Catch of the Day" - 2 pieces of Flathead with a fried crumb covering, which was dark brown. The fish inside was so dry- I could not wring any juice out with my finger-it was dry like the inside of a branch. Tough on the outside, dry on the inside.
There were zillions of chips and half cup of salad, which was quite good.
The Tartare Sauce was that oily, yellowish bulk catering one - yuk!
Two adjoining Parmagiamas were so dry that neither were finished and on the other side was 'Roast of the Day" c/w Veg. Very ho-hum, edible, but only just, and was served sooo sloppily and unappealingly. All of these were in the high 20's, so not cheap!
Went to bistro had the mega parmi. Great sized meals & pice. Great for the kids, especially on monday. Stayed in renovated rooms, was comfortable & clean. Olde tudor provides all the need for anyone, definitely recommend!
The rooms have been renovated since my last visit and as much as I miss the Beaut old bar in the room the reno is well done and the rooms are spacious and comfy. Good bed. Good pillows.
Staff were Excellent. Friendly and Helpful.
Food was Very Good. Venue clean.
Accepted our booking then had no room to have us on one table and forgot our nutella pizza order waited 30 mins after everyone had left.staff and food good
The room was nice and clean comfortably slept 4 people in extremely comfortable beds. Perfect for a stopover travelling through Launceston.
I can get nicer salt and pepper squid from a supermarket, cheaper at supermarket too. Atmosphere was great and friendly polite staff.
Our meals were pretty quick. They were hot and chips were fresh. Kids enjoyed the kids play room and kept them occupied while the food cooked. Kids meals were $11 each and didn't come with a drink which was surprising. Overall, was reasonable for a bistro meal.
Loved it been here a few times now and every time has been amazing staff go above and beyond to make ur stay the best they can
I see the old dragon lady is back in the gaming room rudest lady I've ever met if she hates her job so much why wouldn't you quit!
Went here friday night been here before bar staff busy on there phones and standing right in front of me im waiting to be served only had the one beer and moved on last time we will bother going here
Well my chicken fettuccine didn't come with cheese the pasta was cut too short so it took quite a while 2 eat as it didn't wrap around my fork & my sauce was too runny like it didn't feel like it was made with cream but I ate it.but my mum's t bone she said was good
Great position, really nice pool and spa + sauna and perfect layout to dwelling with huge showers and a nice spa in Executive Suites, great for children/families in a welcoming environment. Not much from the outside however just gets better.
It’s clean and comfortable, the decor is 80s, a real eye opener for your kids. Well worth a visit if staying in Launceston.
Had a wonderful apartment and great service yet very noise as guys next to is partied until 4am. I did complain yet the lady on seve didn't seem to care. Will not come back here because of the noise.
