Mercure Launceston reviews
74Over all ok. I would have given it 3.5 star if it was an option. We could clearly here the music from the next door room and couldn't sleep well.
Had a nice, good sized room. It appeared to be recently refurbished although I don't think they replaced the chairs in the room. The bathroom was particularly clean and there was no mould on the grout like you something see in older hotel rooms. There are extra blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. Our room did not have a window that looks to the outside as it was situated near the ceiling. The room did not have ducted air conditioning but had individual reverse cycle units which were very effective.
The hotel is situated opposite a park and is about a 10 minute walk to the city centre and walking distance to Cataract Gorge. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
The restaurant kitchen closes at 8: 30pm and does not open for lunch or dinner on Sundays. Reception closes between 11pm to 7am.
Very good hotel for a room in this inexpensive price range and central location.
Not a bad stay and great location however short supply of coffee sugar and milk could only have one coffee as there was only one milk
The room we received wasn’t as it was stated in the online booking (1 queen and one single instead of 1 queen and one double) and no refund / change of room was offered.
It's a cheap place to lay your head between places, in a decent location in Launceston. The bistro food was fine and the staff are lovely too. I stayed 2 nights either side of my trek, first was fine, second not good.the bed was less comfortable than my camping nights with springs digging into me, no matter how I tried to sleep, it was such a horrible mattress, erg. It was also very noisy until about 3.30am. If they change the bed, I'd recommend it but until then it's pretty unsatisfactory unfortunately
Rooms were clean but outdated, good location and good value for money. They are currently in the process of merging with Mercure, so they will be getting their rooms refurbished soon. It also made it difficult to locate.
Basic but comfortable room and amenities. Service was good and was recognised as an Accor Group member which was nice. Had to leave very early so did not have breakfast - self checkout was easy and convenient. Satisfactory stay at a value-for-money hotel.
The Titanium bar made the stay. Complimentary breakfast with a full egg breakfast made to order, plus cafe quality coffee was enjoyable. Recommended to even dine in there of an evening, as it stacks up to other eateries around town.
Air con not working, dirty bathroom floor, and paid extra for a king room but both rooms we booked were exactly the same. In need of a huge upgrade, front door rotting and weathered. Won't be back sorry!
Lovely experience of staying at BW Launceston. Great staff and fantastic hotel amenities. Will love to be back.
Clean bed and bathroom is all I can ask for considering the price. But wouldn't come back. Room smelt overpowering, they use a cheap room fragrance. Wires hanging in lobby corridor. Free parking, but hard to find a spot because spare parking spaces are filled with mounds of mulch. Broken lamp shade that was shoved back on diagonally because if you placed it on properly, it would just fall off. No vents in bathroom.
I have removed my earlier review because it was for the wrong hotel. My apologies to the Mercure Launceston.
Excellent hotel in centre of Launceston, great tram car restaurant and comfortable bedding - a great place to stay
Room was pretty good, did have to speak to them twice about a non-working air conditioner as it wasn't actioned after the first chat, apologetic after that though and promptly resolved.
My Experience staying in this hotel was not so pleasant. Firstly, the bathtub curtin was so smelly that affected the whole room; Secondly, the bed was not stable with wheels but without locks; lastly, the sink was super low, I thought I entered a kids room.
Room was clean and well appointed but a little noisy (park views).
Had a broken tv and I was moved to another room with no fuss.
Staff were fantastic. So happy and helpful.
Location is great - just a few blocks (easy walk) from the central mall and right next to the beautiful Royal Park.
I would happily stay there again. (Had a good chat with the manager and there are plans for upgrading rooms.)
We've stayed at best western Launceston several times rooms are very reasonable for price we like staying there it's close to shopping centres, cafes etc friendly staff and on occasion they threw in a free brekky, while we stayed.many thanks best western.
We have enjoyed our stay, the staff very dedicated and efficient insuring they achieve their goals for their guests needs. Staff friendly and helpful with a smile on their faces, close to everything and a beautiful park opposite.
Our family loved the stay, we will certainly come back. Excellent customer service, modern rooms and great food!
The accomodation was comfortable, well located and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. We will return at some time.
