Mercure Launceston reviews
74 Most underrated hotel in Launceston. Amazing rooms which has been refurbished. Room was spacious and new. Reasonable room rate.
Also had very nice breakfast in Titanium restaurant. Generous serving and just delicious.
Coffee was great as well. Just cant fault this hotel.
Its also right next to a lovely city park as well.
Our King room was nothing like on their website. Definitely no upgrades. Friday night the meal was lovely. On the Saturday night we couldn't have a meal or drink because there was a private function. Shouldn't patrons get advantage?
The highlight of the stay was the breakfast, Polly and the Chef are amazing and the food is delicious!
Excellent, Friendly Service. The room was lovely and very well maintained. Receptionist was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. I'll definitely be coming back to stay again.
Kate at the front desk is very helpful. The room was clean and tidy. The bee was a bit soft for me and the toilet a bit close to the wall for someone like me. But the place is clean, tidy and fresh with great staff
Room was quite nice. The noise from the rear parking came straight through the walls and was quite loud, but otherwise a nice stay. Friendly staff
Comfy room and spacious for short term visit. Bathroom a little small, but functional. Good size TV. There is some noise from adjacent room which apparently was due to some person watching TV at maximum volume.
Work desk and small radio, ideal to continue work during the evening.
Recommended for business travellers on a short term visit (not so much for families, however is in front of a beautiful park)
There is a bar at ground level. Good wine for your work breaks
Firstly our room had uncleaned blood in the bathroom on our arrival (we advised reception)
The bathroom generally was dated with no ventilation which resulted in excess moisture on the walls during our 2 day stay. Bed was comfortable. Reception staff friendly.
Rooms are regular Mercure standard - good!
We got the last parking bay at 6pm - that could be bothersome.
Check in process slower than most
Very nice place great meal the staff could not do enough and thank you polly great waitress could not do enough for us cheers
Glorified motor inn. When the people across the hall showered there was this horrible metal clanking sound coming from something in our room. That's great at midnight.
You can hear someone's hair dryer from 3 doors down. If you stay here, pack ear plugs.
Staff in the restaurant were lovely though
More of a motel than a hotel I would say. The rooms are small but was clean, ok but run down. Bathroom was smelly with no fan and also very old. However, bedroom was nice and clean and did have an aircon. Restaurant within the hotel was quiet and not much service. Food was ok. It was adequate for just a layover before flying out but I wouldn’t stay here if I was still holidaying in Tassie. Would stay somewhere else instead.
Just a hotel. Ageing decor, needing a reno but good location and the caf does a good brekky. Launceston has better for the price
Conviently located at the top of Brisbane street which is essentially the main drag of Launceston. The hotel is respectful and polite and I would definitely stay there again. Especially at the price I was able to get after doing a little googling. Hint hotels.com
Very good customer service. Clean rooms and 10 mins walk to eating places. Their own Titanium Bar and bistro.very yummy food.
The staff were friendly and polite. However the room was being renovated. The bathroom was not finished and the room had paint fumes. Plus we could hear the neighbours through the walls.
Rooms were nice newly refurbished but bathroom door didn't close properly and door to room didn't close properly had to force shut
Richard the bar tender was so rude when serving customers! His attitude towards customers and staff was absolutely disgusting. I have never encountered such POOR people skills and lack of manners. I will not be back and would not recommend this venue to anybody. Old grumpy men should not be in customer service position, he obviously didn't want to be there, so maybe he should retire already!
Good hotel, excellent location. Staffs were very helpful in obtaining food afterhours. Some renovation works were being done during my stay- which should have been informed to Visitors. Otherwise, recommended!
Great stay for business in Launceston. This hotel chain are trying some different things. Rooms have been revamped in mid grey tones, slight hipsterish vibe with large shower heads and glass fronted minibar fridge offering nice alternative to usual minibar offering. Good entertainment system with movies and foxtel etc.
They do good coffee and egg and bacon rolls to go for breakfast in a hurry @ 10 bucks which is more than reasonable (they also do regular sit down dining and brekkie). I heartily recommend this hotel for your next trip to Launceston TAS
After getting a raw burger that bleed over the plate and being to late to take it back I asked for a refund in the morning and have not heard anything since. Up to this point this was a great place to stay. No longer for me. I cannot rate the service as it was very good till the refund part.
