Mercure Launceston reviews
74Disappointed overall- we were in room 3, which was essentially a basement room with a pretty aesthetic, with little access to natural light or fresh air. It made for quite an oppressive-feeling stay. Not unacceptable at this price point and would certainly look elsewhere when staying in Launceston again.
It’s always a wonderful stay, love the finer details in the rooms which are modern and large. The location is perfect. It’s my preferred hotel whenever I’m visiting Launceston. Lovely friendly and helpful team. Highly recommended!
Manager there is awful to her staff member as i overheard that from the office doesnt sound very fair and comparing one of her staff members to her ex husband which is absolutely awful to hear as you should bring personal problems to work great stay apart from that appalling to hear that type of language from the manager
We were in a room that was a thoroughfare for the main exit down the stairs to reception/main road or out to the carpark. While the rooms are no smoking, outside the building isn't and the smoke wafted directly into our room.
There are NO OPTIONS for making own food. Room had a kettle, two teacups, two glasses. No microwave and no toaster (which we have found to be quite regular in this "type" of booking).
Bathroom okay. Bit pokey and the shower slippery after use.
The park across the road is awesome. At least an hour to explore, with playground for children, ducks, birds, monkeys (literal monkey enclosure). Keeping in mind that there is a wicked hill down the park (recommend walking through the park for a nicer gradient) Coles is within reasonable walking distance. The uni within reasonable walking distance - and the continuing walk along the river. Not too bad of a walk into a main mall-type street (not going down the steep part of the hill).
This joint is nice, has really helpful folks. Food is good, price is about right, close to town. Down hill to city good, uphill home depends on what you've been up to. We had lots of fun.
Superb location, every staff member I came into contact with was friendly and helpful, hotel was always warm and clean. Breakfast was sensational every morning and the room service was delicious. Special mention to Sara who remembered my coffee order and had it ready and waiting for me your service didnt go unnoticed you're an absolute asset to the team. A fantastic 2 week stay! Thankyou everyone, a quality hotel.
Stayed one night in a twin-share room with a friend. The hotel is in an excellent location and it met all of our expectations. The staff on the front desk are friendly and helpful. The matress and pillows were superb!
Great price, great central location, bistro downstairs, nice good sized clean rooms and daily housekeeping, good value
Staff very helpful and friendly. Weird noise intermittently over night which could not be identified or fixed. Bathroom sink tricky to use. Staff advised and appreciated that they listened and considered.
Hotel rooms were great - nice and spacious for the price. Contains mini bar, iron, and Nespresso machine. Great location close to centre of town. Carpark is woefully inadequate and difficult to navigate.
Nice rooms with a reasonable price. Location was pretty convenient. Just have to keep a good eye for the driveway, could be easy to miss.
Super rude security! The one with blonde long hair! They charged us as much as possible and it was like a motel…
Rooms were lovely & clean, breakfast & dinner were great & staff were very helpful & friendly
Nice rooms and good service including parking but very urban, no garden or bbq. Reasonably priced. Nice park across the road.
Had an excellent stay. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Had a back facing room onto the trees and it was beautiful.
Good service, clean rooms, beautiful views of city park and moments from the centre of the city.
A pleasant hotel close to town that is an easy walk away. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Rooms are a little dated but refurbishment is underway. Good value with breakfast added.
Excellent stay with incredible service. The rooms were actually very nice too. Showers were fantastic, really comfortable beds and location is quite decent.
Love everything about the place I didn't experience the place to be as nice as it was but glad it was great place to stay the staff was really friendly
I usually do not write reviews but this place is…If there is a negative, I would have given them a negative rating. Although furnishing is new etc, the rooms are just next to the busy main roads.
Had disrupted sleep for the whole two nights we were there. The provided ear plugs in the room provided little to nil noise cancellation. As it is the main road, the noise continued to even middle of night.
Also, we were also allocated to the room thats next to the stairs, for the whole night we can hear the talking and walking across the corridor. Regretted having to choose this hotel as my stay for my first trip to Launceston. What an unpleasant experience. If you want to have a good night sleep, choose somewhere else.
Let alone noises, counter experience was terrible. What a disappointment as we thought Mercure has a pretty good reputation.
