Lufra Hotel and Apartments

Stopped here for a meal, bar staff couldn't tell us if there were meals available and didn't seem like she wanted to be there and when we walked into the Cafe it got worse. The woman that greeted us, if you can call it that was so rude. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. And this was stated but other patrons sitting close by us also. Food was average at best, but will never be back simply due to the lack of service. A real shame considering the fantastic location.if can i will no star for here! VERY RUDE!

Had a fantastic stay at Lufra. Food was spectacular the service was more than 5 stars We had a large group booking and they handle it like professional Louise could not do enough for us.
I recommend this place for everyone's needs.

Gross carpet and door needs replacing, room has clearly been broken into in the past, check-in staff member friendly however bar tender didn’t want to be there, would be zero stars if not for the view

Great location across the road from Tessellated
pavement. Good price for a night. Food was pub fare, the waitresses were very helpful in giving us some ideas for our wet weather sightseeing. Quite tired a d dated, but clean enough.

Apartments very spacious. Lovely location across the road from the beach. Every you need onsite restaurant etc. Great amenities in rooms, including washer/dryer.

One of the best views from the bar and restaurant in Tassie. Great beach to walK along and of course the Tesselated Pavement nearby.

After my Deaf mother calling me in a panic that she couldn't find accomodation and myself calling several places from Melbourne only to get a blunt "no sorry can't help" I called the Lufra hotel, where an absolutely amazing man answered and was more than happy help.that alone gives this business 5 stars. Thankyou for being kind in a moment of uncertainty.much abundance to you!

The people here are very nice. We forgot to purchase our park pass, and the receptionist was very willing to help us with the process. They definitely saved us for our trip!

The lady on the counter was not welcoming
I waited for more than 5 minutes but she didn’t care to ask about Order just kept showing she is busy.

Expensive for what you receive.
No room service, our rooms had no cold water, no air conditioning.
Floors were stained & walls dirty with squashed bugs
The meals were nice however very expensive, cheapest main was $32
Location was nice

Honest, down to earth eatery. Wonderful spot but unfortunately the classic pub style (and delicious) menu was priced in the gastro range. This plus daggy decor would make me think twice about going back.

The party at the pub made a lot of noise and keeping the music on until 11: 30 (what the reception told me after I called them), we have a baby and that’s not good for us at all, I wouldn’t recommend to come here on weekends, unless you do not want to sleep.

Second problem is, the reception said we only can park one car front of our accommodation (a second level of family apartment). Obviously there is one car parked there already when we want to park our car. I also call the reception again and they just said we can park anywhere if we want. I thought the parking front of the hotel room is the basic for hotel guest. Very disappointed with the place. Such a shame.

Positives: Nice setting near Pirate bay with a view of the water from certain apartments. A 2 minute walk to the pavement.
Staff at the restaurant were quite friendly.

Negatives: Severely overpriced for the quality of the apartment (sadly a common trend among Tas/Aus accom)

The biggest issue however was in the design/build of the apartments, as both top and bottom apartments share an entrance.

Firstly, there seemed to be almost no insulation as every step from someone upstairs sounded like they were about to go through the roof.

This was the case with two different bookings above us, so it seems a room issue rather than simply noisy guests.

This poor design is exemplified by the bed in the downstairs apartment being located directly under the stairs to the upstairs apartment. This means that whenever someone enters at night they walk a metre above your head.

So overall, if you need to a place to stay you could do worse, but try and get an upstairs apartment if possible.

Gorgeous ocean views from balcony, excellent amenities within room, really close to local attractions and the staff are so kind and helpful couldn’t do enough for us!

One of the prettiest ocean views you could imagine from the bar, dinning room, and apt rooms. Great food and wonderful bar staff. Loved our stay and will definitely return.

Great position right on the waterfront with excellent views. We stayed in a hotel twin room. Was clean & bathroom was renovated. Poor water pressure though. Very close to tessellated pavement

Rooms are great. Surly woman in back office should realise she works in hospitality and guests are paying her. But apart from that great spot.

Perfection embodied in lost-in-time, order at the counter fish-of-the-day inspired vibes. Hipsters have not yet invaded this authentic beachy gem. Go, revel and behold the history before modernity claims another.

The downstairs bar had such great live music on a Sunday afternoon and the man who served us was a top bloke! Such great service

So nice to go to sleep to the sound of waves lapping metres from our door. Would have been awesome if the pub and restaurant was open on a Thursday night.
