Amazing location. Villas up in the trees. The gravel road in is in good condition-just some trades men idiots going the opposite way nearly took us out twice. Stunning views on way in. The food was lovely & they accommodated my food allergies. Young lady-hand tats-on reception did everything in the restaurant too, we came back for paddy melon feeding but missed it so they got some more food out-those little cranky buggers like to growl at each other. Room was lovely. Only issue was the heater-there was instructions but the photo was the clearest-our our heaters markings were worn off but we got there in the end. Loved that there's no TV. Paddy melons at our front door in the morning too

After a week travelling Tassie in a small campervan, we decided to treat ourselves to a cabin on our last night! It was so cosy, and we were in awe of the timber construction. Our cabin was so cosy with the gas fire and the views from the balcony were delightful. We were blown away by the bathroom with it's fancy toilet and mirror, and the included breakfast was very much appreciated. We only wish the restaurant was open a little later after spending the day in the national park as there were no other options nearby.

A really nice and affordable place to stay when visiting Cradle Mountain. It is not a far drive to the entrance of Cradle Mountain and the price makes it worth while. We found the cottage very good for four people and the place has really nice picturesque walks including the Big Tree walk which takes you to a waterfall. Need to take you own supplies but the cabin we had was two floors, cosy and fireplace.

Very disappointing room.sparse furnishings, needed repairs to fridge and tap. Not enough seating to relax and no table for drinks, papers etc. Staff not able to offer us anythingextra so bench brought in from balcony! Good breakfast but same menu each evening and road access/ vicinity meant no other evening meal options.
Good location and local walks

The unique retreat is hard to give less than 5 stars. Staff are so friendly, the breakfast included is just delicious and loved the choices. The accommodation is lovely and has great heating.
The downside is the road to the accommodation, it’s quite isolated and still a bit of a drive back to cradle mountain. The restaurant at night was lovely and the also feed the animals at night. There is also a games room that has a pool table the retreat has afew walking trails but unfortunately we only stayed for 2 nights and spent most of the time at Cradle Mountain.

Nice little get away! Very spacious cabins and the meals are absolutely delicious!
Be sure to take some snacks and drinks with you though as there is not much around to buy anything.
Staff were lovely and the wildlife was great!

Fabulous, great walks & magnificent wilderness retreat. The guest who thought the road was treacherous probably were to scared to do them

Great sport for a retreat, away from the city noise. Wifi was limited though, but the customer service from Steven and Brydie (?) was commendable!

Happy enough but will look to stay closer to the mountain next time. Good features are the lodge and surroundings which are beautiful. I wouldn’t say the room was worth $320 on a Tuesday night. Our room was very close to the main lodge and we heard staff swearing their way through a conversation during their break. Not great for guests to hear. Dinner was 50/50. Reception Staff friendly and helpful.

The accommodation was sufficient. We got a three bedroom family house. The games room was good for the kids. The food was a bit stotgy and could've had more greens. But the bar was nice to sit around the fire or have a drink & sit outside and look at the beautiful trees. There's a few lovely walks as well from the accommodation.
The 8 km "treacherous" road people talk about in another reviews was fine and clearly none of them have ever driven along any of the roads to ski fields in New Zealand!

Not recommended for 1 night stand. It deserves longer! Very difficult road access which makes it even better to stay longer.
Hospitality service and meals quite exceptional.

Absolutely loved this location and accomodation. All of the staff were amazing, welcoming and kind. We loved our cabin, clean and different to your average accomodation. The bathroom renovation in our room was amazing! The restaurant here is like no other. Such a lovely atmosphere and the food was incredible with an amazing Tassie alcohol selection. My partner said his dinner was the best meal he has ever had in his life. We only had 1 night here and didn’t want to leave!

Such a beautiful place, out room looked out into the forest, and was so secluded from everyone else. Such amazing hiking trails in the area too, as well as beautiful ancient giant trees.
Staff could not have been more helpful either and made us feel so welcome. Also bumped up out room to the deluxe spa suite when they heard it was our honeymoon. Such a nice thing to do, and I wasn't expecting and certainly didn't really need it.

Wonderful place, and a wonderful experience

Christmas in July, food really well prepared, tasty and heaps. I think staff just struggled a bit with crockery as soup was served but no soup plates. It did appear afterwards. Plates were not removed after meals, so we just placed them on an empty table. Restaurant was a bit cold albeit with three (3) fires going but the heat was contained to around the fireplaces, not the room. We still had a lovely time and will visit again (perhaps in the summer)

We stayed in one of the wilderness spa cabins, room was nicely clean and well kept.
We found the bed extremely comfortable and warm.
Dinner in the restaurant was absolutely divine, with such a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was also magnificent and is included in the room price, with plenty to choose from, we weren't left dissapointed.
Staff were amazing and friendly, one extra note was that i accidentally left my hiking boots in the room and they promptly posted them out to me free of charge, i was very thankful as the boots would be hard for me to replace. We will definitely be returning as soon as we can.

Had a most amazing stay, the service and location were perfection. The spa, when we switched it on spat out gross green/brown sludge which was very off-putting. But we ran it for a few hours and used it the 2nd night with no issues.

Not for us. No Wi-Fi or tv in the rooms. Heating in the rooms and lodge was not adequate for an alpine location. Customers in the restaurant all needed to wear outdoor hats and jackets during dinner and breakfast. Just couldn’t get warm. Beds and lounge furniture in desperate need of replacement. The warmest room in our hut was the bathroom. Customer service from some of the staff was terrible. We assume this is due to lack of training or no desire to work in a service role. The food wasn’t great. Mostly deep fried and from the freezer. Pretty sure the eggs at breakfast were powdered. If you’re into off-grid, backpacker type accommodation then this is for you but I’m not sure the price and stars reflect this.
