This Medical Centre has been monetized and Americanized and as a result the community of Kingbrough has been compromised. I went for some vaccinations and was told that since I had not visited since 2020 I was considered a new client and "they are no longer taking new clients. " Obviously they can't make money off fit and healthy young bucks such as myself. In the waiting room there were no tradies, no young families- only the elderly with one foot in the you know where. Maximizing their profit margins in this way is nothing short of disgraceful.

I find the VERY busy staff on the front desk to be friendly and extremely professional. They have a lot to deal with! My doctor at this centre has now unfortunately retired but the locum I have been seeing is absolutely wonderful - caring and thorough. Overall, a 5 star medical centre.

Had terrible experience with Dr who ignored symptoms and complaints just to get me out quickly. Didnt keep any notes on my and then retired so when I needed medical history wasnt there.

I needed to see the doctor as soon as possible. I had an appointment made the same day. No wait time, even got in early. Never have I had issues here. All the staff were great. Even though it's private now, I was happy to pay for the care and referral I received.

I would put 0 stars if it were an option. The doctor who I saw was rude, misleading and unprofessional.

Can't book my own doctor. Have been going to this practice for over 30 years. No more! Changing practice at the moment. Hopefully to a practice that isn't just there to make money for a corporate.

Attempted to make phone contact three to four times, unable to connect over 30 minutes, occurs regularly without any improvement in service.

I thank God for being able to visit the Kingborough Medical CentreI for more than 20 years and have always recieved efficient friendly professional service and never had to wait too long. My GP is always very caring, supportive, understanding, respectful and proficient. He always takes time to listen and is never too rushed.
Every time I visit Kingborough Medical Centre I feel very happy!

I tried to call through twice. I was on hold for over 25 minutes the first time. I attempted to get through again and was on hold for another 25 minutes. I'm told this is fairly normal. Without an internet connection, it's virtually impossible to make an appointment with this medical centre.

I was calling regarding a 2 minute phone appointment that I was billed for. I was told it lasted over 6 minutes, however my phone records say otherwise. I disputed the charge and was told that the doctor was the only one that could help me but they no longer worked there due to some issue between them and the practice. All a bit strange.

I'm sure the doctors are great, and the admin staff potentially could be, but it seems the business is more interested in making a buck than helping keep our community healthy.

Also, the other reviews really do capture my feelings about this practise.

I would have to advise anybody who is neurodiverse to steer clear of this clinic entirely. The doctors here aren't properly educated and have a very outdated mentality. I was made to feel I was wasting my doctor's time and that I making up my recent diagnosis made by a clinic psychiatrist!

Had two appalling experiences at the KMC.

One with a doctor, who had very limited understanding or empathy, towards youth mental health; in particular any awareness of the different types of behaviours presented with ASD and ADHD,

Secondly, their unprofessional rude staff, who repeated back my phone conversation and made snarky, inappropriate comments about me, whilst I was still waiting on the phone. I didn’t receive any formal apology as promised either.

Also, their phone waiting time is just mind boggling. You could fly to the moon and back much faster!

Cannot recommend the Kingborough Medical Centre.

Doctor that my daughter saw for her mental health called her 'manipulative and that she was making it up to get out of school.
She cried all the way home

I don't particularly like these reviews bit I don't see any changes and very consistent complaints across the board.
Aside from the woeful wait times with the popular doctors which are on average an hour and a bit of a running joke around Kingston.
It's always been the same as long as I have been going and we just have to put up with it as there is no sign of improvement and clearly the thorough doctors need more time alocated than 15mins to do be able their job.
The sanitiser situation is particularly bad, they are always either empty, absolutely filthy! Or don't work.
Automatic dispensers would be a given I would have thought in this environment.

Front desk staff are rude and not organised. New to the area, called to make an appt for our 4yr old to have his immunisations verified (just moved back from the US) when we called on Monday to make the appt they said they had nothing available, we said he was not sick only needed to bring his immunisation records in, to be verified & uploaded to Medicare. So he wouldn’t need to see the doctor, we could just hand them over to someone at the front desk. The lady than said “oh wait a minute can you come in Friday at 2pm? , being a new patient come in at 1: 50pm to fill out a new patient form”
Sure no problem. Come Friday we arrived a few minutes before 1: 50pm. My wife went in ahead of my son and I, to get the new patient form.
She waited in line, three people ahead of her checked in, come her turn she waited at the safe distant line while the front desk staff chatted among themselves a couple of minutes before someone eventually called her up. My wife informed them that our son was waiting in the car until the appt time. She was told “the doctor is on time today so you better bring him in right away” So my wife directly went to the car (parked directly out front) got myself and our son and we came back inside, we took our seats. My wife started filling out the new patient form, when a front desk staff member came over and leaned over my wife and said “the doctor won’t be able to see you today because he already called you out, and you went to the car, he does not like his patients to be late and you came in at 1: 52pm”. My wife was shocked. 1. We arrived early, 1: 48pm to be exact for a 2pm appt. 2. If the front desk staff were not so busy chatting among themselves they would have had us checked in on time. 3. It was still only 1: 55pm when we were told we were to late for a 2pm appt.

The doctor seen us anyway, and he said “everyone is upset today because of the rain”. Actually no, we in fact were not upset because of the rain, but of the rude welcome we received by this clinic. The doctor said we did not even need to make an appt, that we in fact could have just dropped the records off at the front desk and the nurse would check them and upload them to Medicare. No apology was given by the rude front desk staff. And upon leaving my wife addressed the matter with another staff member at the front desk. In which that woman tried to say our appt was for 1: 50pm not 2pm. That she had made the appt herself on the Monday. She was very matter of fact and spoke in a condescending voice. No I’m sorry simply not true you made the appt for 2pm and asked us to come in at 1: 50pm for the new patient form.

Pleas get organised, learn some customer service and serve your patients more kindly.
Also you had more than ten people waiting in your waiting room, with one woman coughing heavily, wearing no mask. Can’t imagine what sort of germs she was spreading. I thought if you display any flu like symptoms you shouldn’t be sitting next to vulnerable people.

We will not return to your practice.

I’ve been going to this practice for years. They have wonderful Drs, nurses and admin but I feel like it’s continually become about squeezing out the most profit - which is to the detriment of what could be a really good practice. Wait times have increased and it’s basically impossible to get into your own dr if you want to see them within the week. Often they are completely booked out for a week throughout all their Drs. I have a back up clinic I go to, and although I really like my GP, I’m considering moving there entirely.

Waited over 1 hour for my appointment with a doctor I hadn't seen before due to my doctor being booked out until end of next month and charged a double booking as a new patient! Told by doctor to come.back in 2 weeks, try to make a booking in easyvist only to have to wait until.end of next month again. Do not recommend, will be looking for a new surgery.

They're too busy! Just waited 35 mins on HOLD! Last appointment I had, I was fobbed off as the Dr was late for another patient and didn't have time to look into another ongoing issue I have. I was told to make another appointment and come back. Totally fed up after going to this medical centre for over 20 yrs!
