Very tasty pinot, especially the zdar. We had a delicious lunch in the restaurant. Lovely place for a wedding smashing building and surrounds. The steak was delicious. The staff were great. So good I just had to join the club with a silver membership. Looking to build up my collection of tassie pinots for consuming in the summer months here. Thanks again for a great time. Will be coming back next time Hawthorn are playing footie in Launie.

Enjoyed a lunch of Pinot poached beetroot, blue eye trevella and beef cheeks. Faultless in every regard. The Pinot Gris matched superbly with all courses including the cheese platter. Will visit again.

Wonderfully delicious food in a elegant setting and very friendly service! We really enjoyed ourselves. Food was prepared to very high standards, the beef dish and pull pork dish were to die for. It’s a fine dining restaurant but the food was good value for money. I would recommend anyone near the wine region to make a trip! It goes to say the wines are great too.

When you first arrive, Josef Chromy Winery looks and feels the part. A mixed old heritage building combined with a super modern restaurant nestled in a huge vineyard.

The atmosphere is great and the restaurant is beautifully presented. The wait staff were energetic and quirky, eager to present their menu and make their recommendations.

We ended up going with the 'Feed Me' option as we couldn't decide, we wanted the chef to lead the way.

The beetroot appetiser was our favourite dish. Fresh crunchy beetroot combined with an awesome little sauce.

But alas, that's where the fun stopped. Our fish dish tasted very fishy, like it wasn't fresh. When the fish is served raw, there is very little to disguise its lack of freshness.

Same with our Scottsdale pork, the meat tasted very gamey. Perhaps that's how the pork is supposed to be but it didn't suit our tastes.

Dessert was decent but the mousse seemed a little heavy, which may be the way the chef intended but it didn't suit our tastes.

Although at $75 a head for a 4 course tasting menu, the value was great, and we also got to wander the grounds to really appreciate the restaurants location which was amazing and unforgettable.

Others seemed to have really enjoyed this place and maybe we just got a menu that didn't suit us. We may give it another chance next time we're in Tasmania.

This vineyard is just 'eye-opening'. Beautiful, serene and oh so peaceful. The restaurant is also first class. The St Helens oysters are 'to-die-for', while the steaks, blue-eye travalla 'fish-of-the-day' were just perfect. Complement it with a vast range of award winning wines, and you've got a perfect setting for an unforgettable experience.

Beautiful winery with some great views and a nice walk. The service at the restaurant was fabolous and the food was quite nice. We visited as it was a highly popular place according to travel sites. It did not disappoint.

Great place to sit out on the deck and have a casual bottle of good wine and a cheese platter with a beautiful backdrop.

Food was amazing, staff were friendly and attentive, the view was great and the wine even better. The carpaccio was to die for.

Could not fault a single item on the feed me menu. Came here not knowing what to expect, left here completely blown away. Kelly our waitress was wonderful

Lovely building and incredibly friendly staff. The winery itself is located on a stunning vineyard with incredible views over a lake servicing the bottom of the vineyard. There is a cellar door, restaurant and outdoor areas to grab a drink and relax with food. Very strong recommend!

We went out of our way to have lunch at this restaurant based on a recommendation, but it was clearly too busy for the waitress to even be civil. The room was noisy, over crowded and cafeteria like. Not being a local we didn't realised we needed a booking and the waitress was dismissive and rude. We did not stay. This has been the only time during our stay in Tasmania that we have been treated like this.

2017 wines were disappointing. This winery certainly has excellent marketing. However the wines did not live up to the marketing noise: Pinot noir watery, chardonnay over oaked, riesling mouldy rather than botrytised, sparkling- too high percentage of pinot noir, should be picked under-ripe to avoid the sickly sweet quality.

We saw fly fishing advertised. However upon strolling the perimeter of the lake we noticed a strong smell. Dead trout lapping the shores.

Apart from that the views are pretty and the cellar door was quiet so the service was not bad. The menu is over priced and so we adjourned to Sharmans Wines for a wonderful well priced platter and a lovely Cab Merlot.

We were in a group of five people of different flavors, so basically ordered all the 4 main courses. All were cooked very well. The 2016 Pinot Noir was good - fresh and fruity. Nice view of garden-like farm. Waitresses were professional and friendly. I felt like I was in a hotel fine dining place. Wine tasting would be AUD 5 per person but we had to skip it.

We were surprised to encounter such a luxury mansion with a lake behind the building. We did a wine tasting before having lunch. The ladies at the reception gave very detailed information about the wines. In general, the staff was extraordinarily friendly. We sat outside on the terrace and enjoyed the lovely view of the vineyard and the lake. The food was terrific, and the portions were significant!

An absolutely stunning winery in the Tamar region, the Chardonnay is brilliant but let it warm up a little and thank me later.

Fantastic food and service. Not priced 4 everyday budgets but well worth the splurge for a special occassion! I will DEFINITELY be returning

Went here for a function with 150 people. Food was fabulous. The wines were excellent and the staff were well trained and friendly.
The food-theme of the night was the "Taste of Tasmania" and oh my gosh it was good. Stunning Beef Steaks, Sausages, BBQ Salmon, Pork, Lamb. And great salads. YuuummmM!

Amazing place for lunch. I would say great food and good wines but I didn't find any that left a huge impression.

Food presentation was excellent and so was the taste. One of the best meals we’ve had for a while and the setting amongst the winery makes the whole experience. Service was friendly and attentive. Kids also accommodated very well with menu and dessert. Lovely to walk outside after the meal too.
