Josef Chromy Wines reviews
90Wonderful afternoon testing wine and enjoying lovely cheese platter at Josef Chromy. Thanks to our host Sandy for all helpful info on the wine we tasted.
Hands down 5 Stars! From the moment we walked in and met our waitress Paige we knew that we would enjoy this. Paige went out of her way to make our experience most enjoyable. The wine tastings were devine. I found a new favourite, Pepik Pinot Noir. And we got a bonus red to taste. I lined them all up and took a photo to make the kids jealous ;) The accompanying cheese platter had a lot of variety and the view over the lake just made it so much more special. What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our big lap of Australia! Thanks Josef Chromy. We will be back.
Oh my goodness! What an awesome experience! Food and wines amazing! The staff was top class and wonderfully friendly. Very helpful. Would definitely like to go again. Thank you.
Such a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Paige really looked after us and was so helpful and knowledgeable.
Wonderful food, picture perfect outlook and great wine. Ryan, our waiter was excellent in going over the menu with us to ensure we enjoyed our experience.
Definitely doesn't close at 5.
Came for a glass, rudely turned away at 4.
Much better off visiting some nicer wineries in the area.
Welcomed to an extremely beautiful location by lovely staff ready to great you with a smile and help you with anything you need.
Wine tastings, alfresco bar area with delicious cocktails featuring Josef Chromy wines.
Followed by an open, gorgeous dining room with incredible local produce, treated meticulously. Seasoned and plated beautifully.
A beautiful relaxing moment full of lasting memories.
A beautiful lunch but the most stunning experience was the wine tasting. Our group of 5 were looked after by Sandy, the Cellar Door manager. Sandy elevated our experience beyond all expectations, accommodating our requests and delivering a most professional, thorough and passionate explanation of each wine. You could sense her genuine love and passion for the vino. Ten out of ten. Thank you Sandy and the Josef Chromy team.
Restaurant views are gorgeous as it overlooks a sweeping vineyard. Standout dish was the kingfish for the entree
Beautiful location and superb tasting wines. The experience lived up to the reputation of Josef Chromy. In particular the sparkling wines - brilliant. Great food and fantastic service. Will be back.
A winery with excellent reviews and beautiful grounds. A pitty it did not live up to expectations. We had a most delicious charcuitiere board ladden to the brim with goodies but sadly not enough bread and lavosh crackers. We were unimpressed to be charged $1 extra per thick cut half slice of bread, which also was not enough for the various cured meats.
Very beautiful gardens, Josef Chromy has such an amazing story and history. Divine wines and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS. Particularly loved the wallaby carpaccio and the strawberry sorbet, with rhubarb and yuzu, meringue and white chocolate sauce. It was honestly the best desser I’ve ever had in my life. Still dreaming about it. Plus the setting is so beautiful, the restaurant is charming and the gardens are very lush and pretty. Highly recommend.
Delicious wines and fantastic service. Really enjoyed the in depth and passionate tasting from Sandy, really blown away by the quality of service and tasty wines. Can't wait to come back, thanks Sandy
Great wine tasting experience! You'll need to book in advance but it's worth it. We bought all 3 wine tastings and enjoyed every bit of it. Sandy was attending us - it was such a pleasure talking to her!
Beautiful wines. Sandy brought great energy, passion and charisma to the wine tasting to make it a really enjoyable experience. Not to mention her extensive knowledge. A must-do if visiting Launceston.
A very busy establishment so book ahead - but with good reason. Lovely local Tasmanian produce and wine with a view and good service to complement it.
Immaculately landscaping and well maintained buildings. This is a very popular location, so make a reservation. When we arrived unannounced we were able to walk the grounds and the cellar door.but the restaurant was full and we discovered that wine tastings were by appointment only. They were very polite and offered us a booking for later that day.
A lovely experience thanks to a large array of tasty wines, the view and service (onya Sharon). One less star due to the kitchen not being open to enjoy some local cheese. Highly recommended.
Such a genuine and wonderful visit. Great knowledge and even better tasting wines. The staff were so friendly and accommodating of our drop in visit.
Absolutely wonderful restaurant, service and team. There are better wines in the world if you are a serious connoisseur, but absent that, you will have a truly wonderful time
