Great Lake Hotel reviews
70We only stopped by for a bite to eat, but it's such a good laid out pub with a great affordable menu. Views of the lake are great
Nice location, however the pizza was like it had been kept frozen until it was ordered, then just heated up. When we got our pizza, it was covered in water and looked like dog food had been slopped on it
Lovely country pub with spectacular views over the Great Lake. Good counter-meal type menu and reasonably priced. They have a crackling open fire going in winter so there are certainly worse places to spend a lazy afternoon. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Good 4-star country pub with a great view of the lake.plus they get a bonus star for putting up with almoat 40,000 Facebook followers who probably only follow them for the snow reports during winter ;)
Pretty expensive food at lunchtime for an old hotel in the middle if nowhere. Did we ordered was good though.
Grumpy manager did not want to talk to customer. Room is dirty (floor and bedding). Ver disappointed cause this place was where I was hoping to have a nice stay. Wallaby x1 was the only thing I enjoyed. Never come back here
Very dissapointed with this place. The rooms had holes in the walls, dog hair all over bedding, bed had stains and was very dirty, the place looked like it was rotting and the service was terrible. Felt very uncomfortable on arrival and drove to a town further away immediately after seeing the room.
By the way, I am not a fancy person either. Once had a holiday sleeping in the car for 14 days and shower every 3 days. That just shows how bad this place really this!
We had a beautiful "Christmas in winter" meal here today to celebrate Elizabeth's birthday. Food was delicious and service excellent. The long drive was well worth while. Highly recommended.
We as a family were coming up 2 the great Lake pub 4 a few weeks but all i have read about staff and food i don't think we will be attending the great Lakes, very sad as we were looking forward 2 our trip if anyone can let me know if it is under new management
Was a good stay for the night on the way from Cradle Mountain to Gordons Dam as it is roughly half way.
Very unfriendly staff. 6$ p. P.per night for an unpowered site (which means just park your car somewhere in the back behind the gas station). 20$ for a powered site (total, not p. P.).
Although in every camper app it says that there is a barbeque, there isn't. When I asked for cooking facilities, the woman told me very unfriendly "no, we don't have a barbeque". After cooking in the freezing cold outside, the next morning we found the community room with a kitchen. As that room is between the hotel cabin in the back, we didn't notice it in the night because it was already pitch dark.
Hot showers are available. The bar has free Wi-Fi and closes at 9pm on most days, although we were told to get out at around 8: 15 because "I'm closing now girls, please leave"
The hotel was for sale at that moment, so it could be that the place is completely different when you go there.
