Gateway Inn Hotel reviews
75 It's nice, but. Lost a star because they don't re-stock the mini bar every day. Also the room we had has a window between the bathroom and bedroom, so when you go in the middle of the night, it floods the room with light until the blind goes down, and even when it does, light still goes in, which wakes toddlers up.
Also, the restaurant is too fancy to take kids.it would be better if they had a more relaxed family restaurant.
The pork & ribs for around $30 was absolutely fantastic. Cold beer and lovely down to earth staff. Edith was a fantastic waitress. Definitely recommend BUT if you have you head stuck up your own backside don’t come here
Modern, clean hotel in town centre. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, everything you need really. (later edit) I would especially like to thank one member of the team, Toni. On hearing us discuss our surprise that they don't do cheese and biscuits she went down to a supermarket just to get us some and wouldn't even take any money for it. Where else in the world would you get this service? Love Tasmania!
Actually I was trying to post, a photo of the new Harris Scarf building, but it wouldn't let me.
Wasn't the best we were down stairs and so noisy and you could hear the conditioner running all night. I wouldn't stay here again
Stayed one night, first impressions was great with a very clean and rather modern interior. I had made a mistake booking which the lovely lady at the front counter was great about. The room was clean, tidy and we'll layed out. Check in, out and after hours access was easy. Would certainly stay here again.
Lady working behind bar he's either so stoned that she doesn't need to or she just actually doesn't care about customers whatsoever she does however care about her social life laughing and giggling with customers that she obviously knows well ignoring the rest of us and if it hadn't been happening for the last five years I probably wouldn't have said something but that's long enough to get your stuff together
We arrived Friday evening & left Sunday morning and really enjoyed our stay. I booked the King Spa Room (on top floor) it was definitely a very modern, spacious & a beautiful room. The staff were very friendly. The only fault i found was the Toilet was leaking from the back & had to put a towel down so i didn't get wet feet. I did mean to tell the staff on Saturday but forgot, so i reported it on checkout and they were going to get someone onto it straight away. Will definitely stay again
Nice hotel, clean rooms, free wifi, plenty of parking, good for social events. Restaurant is not exceptional though, mainly just above the average of pub food menus.
Very disappointing hotel, though staff were friendly and helpful.noisy room, broken painful bed, no mini bar, no exhaust fan (so stinky and damp), and windows opened on to carpark.yet still charging top dollar.awful experience.
We found this the most uncomfortable.
The bed was hard, the floor had more flex.
The window was either rattling closed or open.
Eftpos out of date, did not support NFC mobile, made to feel inadequate for not having a card handy.
Nice accomodation, friendly and helpful staff.
Locally state sourced items in the mini bar.
I travel a lot on business and this is the worst hotel I've stayed in for noise. I usually get up at 4am to fly into tassie so to be kept awake till after 10pm with loud noise coming from the kitchen staff was just un-pleasant. Won't be back if I can avoid staying in Devonport in future
Attended a conference that was held in the basement room. Quite a weird room and wasn't a great space, especially when you have to walk through a service area to get there.
The meal for our school tour group was just too basic, a chicken schnitzel and some chips, and when I asked them for ketchup or any sauce at all, they siad 'we are not allowed to give sauces out'. LMFAO. All teachers, students & coach captains ate their tinpot fried food tasteless and dry.
