Gateway Inn Hotel

We stayed overnight before a day sail on the Spirit of Tasmania. Hotel is conveniently located with reasonable family rooms and close proximity to varios shops and restaurants.

Very nice. The food is worth more than the price paid, very suitable for the long holiday. Happy New Year. 2024

The bed was the comfiest thing I've ever slept on. We ended up booking another night for the end of our Tasmania trip. The staff member we spoke with was super lovely as well. The shower was quite nice and super convenient for us traveling on the Spirit

I had higher expectations. The spa definitely was not for a couple as stated. Our toilet was not cleaned properly and bed looked like it had just been pulled up roughly and the end of the night was quite noisy outside even though we were on the 4th floor. Overall, location good, beds were comfy.

Ideal place for weekend, service, was great, staff friendly, rooms cosy, the lift was a bonas, will sure stay there again, when up in Devonport

Had a fantastic meal Friday night in the restaurant. We had a huge booking of 40 people and the food came out very quick and was the highest standard. The team were fantastic making sure all our needs were met. Would highly recommend.

Great service. Lovely room. Restaurant only a 3/5 and a Very loud night club a block away sounded like it was in the next room. Sad because the Gateway it’s self is a great place to stay

The rooms, are nice. The bathroom is amazing. The spa baths are really nice and you can watch TV in them.

Excellent front counter staff. Great location. Stayed on 3rd floor and relatively quiet with good blackout.

This hotel is very well situated and is value for money. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable, and the meals very good, but what makes this a great place is the staff. They are great, warm, welcoming and very accommodating - hence why I keep coming back.

Went for lunch, had a beautiful meal. They have $12.80 or close to it pensioner meals, with sweets included, more than enough, and very tasty. I totally recommend it

In the beginning staff were extremely helpful and accommodating, by the end they were terrible. Standard clean rooms, serviced daily. Car parking is often problematic.

Nice and clean, great location to grab dinner. Could just see spirit of Tasmania from the window. Really enjoyed the wide variety of tea provided in room. The rooms and service was really good, except we had a triple bed room. 1 bed had a dooner but the other 2 only had a brown blanket despite the freezing weather and no extra blankets in the room either. All in all, a great place to stay.

The staff is friendly. But the carpet in the room is so dirty. Very noisy, bad soundproofing, can hear other guests talking and laughing loudly in the corridor during night time. Can't sleep well. Terrible experience overall.

Seriously comfortable five star mattress, beautiful fresh pillows and really crisp linen. Room was very comfortable. Had a great sleep during our stay. A bit of noise from other visitors, but that couldn’t really be helped. Also, the air conditioner filter may need changing? I woke up sneezing. Definitely recommended for anyone travelling. Reception was so friendly and helpful on both check-in and arrival.

Lovely place to stay great room close to shops food is great, need to have buffet breakfast hotter please was quite cold 23.0.22. Room are well appointed. Would stay hear again short trip to devenport airport
