My partner and I have been here twice and the food just keeps getting better. If it was divine the first time, it was heavenly the second. The quality of the food and the presentation has been consistently great. The ambience is just as perfect, and we love the architecture of the building and lay out of the restaurant. They aced it in all of those areas. Service though, the first time was amazing. Second time, we couldn’t help but felt.it’s different. Both times we walked in without any reservation for lunch. But the second time, it felt we were troublesome to the staff. Service was a bit cold and we can’t help but feel we were imposing on them. We felt sad honestly for we were made to feel that way. We really loved the food and ambience and we really didn’t want that subpar service to ruin it. So I’m giving them a 5 Star still. Service is a hit or a miss. But the food and the view is still worth it.

Two time loser. We first visited this winery in January this year, admittedly it was a Sunday about 15mins before closing, a tour bus had just left when my wife & I walked in, we admired the place but the staff did all that was humanly possible not make eye contact with us. We were the only two people in there and it was quite obvious that we weren't welcome as everyone wanted to go home. We didn't think this was paricularily great but given the time of day excused the poor behaviour.
Come the long weekend of June 8-11, we found ourselves in Hobart again for our daughter's birthday - as she was busy with work on the Sunday (day) we took a drive to Richmond and again found ourselves in the vicinity of Fogmore Creek Winery this time with our son and his girlfriend. We thought we may have a tasting and perhaps lunch. I stood in front of a staff member at the tasting area who proceeded to complete 100 tasks other than to acknowledge my presence.
I bear absolutely no resemblance to Harvey Weinstein or any other person non-grata that I can think of so I am a bit of a loss but the icing on the cake was when a couple just walked and in this person moved directly to them to ask if they were there for a tasting.
I then summonsed my family and announced we were leaving. The consumption of wine for me is an act that not only takes into account the liqud but the whole range of emotion that goes with it - in this case they could produce a 100 point drop and it would still taste sour.
Mostly appalling cellar door experience we have to date anywhere in the world.

Rainy weekend in Hobart but plenty of sunshine at Frogmore Creek. We started our visit with a trip to State Cinema, great place.film we saw not so great. We came out of the cinema around 10.45pm looked like Hobart was in lock down and under curfew, perhaps the Mayor’s already repulsing tourists. Now a winter menu at Frogmore Creek we were among the testers of the new slow cooked brisket, very delicious and tender, went well with the truffle potato tartare. But the pièce de résistance a pastry chef’s breakfast, unbelievable. Food at Frogmore is so good and such fun to eat, would not be to the taste of Hobart’s fun loving Mayor

We had a beautiful and non-booked lunch at Frogmore winery. We were looked after so well by all staff but especially Adrian who was so personable, unpretentious but ever professional. They catered for our 4 year old boy with colouring material and pencils. We felt welcome even though we hadn't booked. Now the food was amazing.what we had been looking for on our holiday to Tasmania. So beautifully presented, modern and tasted amazing. The dessert was memorable 'the chef's breakfast'
The setting is lovely too looking onto the vineyard. I highly recommended Frogmore Creek winery. When back in Tasmania we'll come back again. Thank you and thank you Adrian.

Appalling service.

We were in the area and thought we would try our luck for a walk-in lunch seating. I asked if there was a table for 5 free for lunch, and we were dismissed with a rude 'no'. The team member should have been more empathetic and say, 'Sorry, we are fully booked for lunch'.

To which we found out ourselves after there was a casual outdoor seating area. I went back to the same gentleman (to give him a second chance) and asked if we could sit outside and order something light like chips - to which he responded, 'Chips? We don't do 'chips'', in an arrogant and pretencious manner.

We took our business elsewhere down the road and spent a few hundred dollars on a bottle. Big mistake Frogmore.big mistake.
