Fern Tree Tavern reviews
70Inviting and warm pub with fantastic owners and a real community feel, menu is diverse and always great! It's our go to and we live nearby which helps!
Excellent vegan options, great atmosphere, friendly staff and a happy pub puppy (Edith) to greet you.
A re-imagination of pub grub.quirky decor and design (that mostly works). Good range of Tas wines beers and spirits. One of the few options in the area!
Ordered the Mountain Burger, it was nice. If they had an option for Angus patties that would be fantastic. Chips were the best butcher paper chips I've had for a while.
Awesome meals! Huge portions, hot and really delicious! Not your standard pub fare. Cozy eclectic environment. This is a must in Hobart!
Very disappointed, we booked a table for lunch several weeks ago, and traveled over 50 minutes from our home in Carlton, a note on the door stated they were reopening again after a break on the 2nd March at 11.30am. We got there just after 11.30am for our booked table at 11.45. The place was in darkness, so we had to find somewhere else to eat. No one even bothered to call us, where is the decency and respect?
Atmosphere and service abounds. Interesting and tasty menu. Try the pea soup with toasted sourdough bread. Would go again and take friends and family. Inside or outdoor dining. Very good wait staff.
Texas visitor.
Definitely a place we would dine in again. We loved the burger and cant wait to have some more. The staff were friendly and accommodating. There is also a playground for kids just accross the tavern with beautiful tall trees. The ambience here is amazing. Would bring family and friends here.
I was there a couple of years ago and thought the food and service was excellent.
This time however the service was not good as the waiter was asked to wait a bit between starter and main. He was apologetic when he arrived with the starter and told us the main was also ready.
Could it be reheated later? He would ask.
But only minutes later plonked the mains on the table mumbling its still warm.
The mains were not well presented and the ingredients average.
The beers however were great.
Food is super delicious. And outdoor sitting is a must for the beautiful view. Watch out for wallabies.
This place is awesome! Everything was perfect. My son loved his hot chocolate, which was a bit fancy. I had the buttermilk chicken, which rocked my socks. Hubby had the meatloaf. I hate meatloaf but now I am converted! Staff were lovely. We will be coming back. I never wrote reviews but this plane deserves it!
The open fire was welcoming on a chilly Fern Tree day.
The menu for lunch sounds good but the servings are impressive.
Washed down with the drink of your choice. Mine was stout today.
Leave room cake, just an insider tips.
The food is only just which is better than the way the staff treat you. It's such a shame given the idyllic location that people in hospitality can be so rude for no reason.
Schnitzel overcooked and chips cold. Staff lovely. Venue needs updating particularly the bathroom.
Historically always been a great pub with good food, last couple of experiences have been a bit below par in comparison. Whilst still good, the food is no longer great, and the service has had a similar slight drop. Still a good place by many measures, but not what it has been.
Great stmosphere family friendly tavern. Glad we stopped. Recommend the organic apple cider. YUM. Thanks guys. Love it
Don't go there expecting a grate big juicy stake, they do grate parmies but apart from that it's all vegan and veg from there on. It was very dark in my opinion needed better lighting. But a nice meal and good atmosphere
Beautiful location with a very warm & welcoming feel. It’s cozy with a fireplace in place, it’s tables set next to the top-to-bottom windows. Even the staff are very nice. It reminded me of my visits to Europe… definitely worth a visit.
This was the second time we went to the fern tree tavern and it was just as good. The schnitzel was one of the best
