70Kunyani folk club, lovely evening, although could use a little more room to hold the event in.would go again
It's worth visiting The Fern Tree Tavern whenever you're in Hobart.
Great menu, amazing food, beautiful location, and always a friendly atmosphere.
Kunzea squid is to die for, Absolutely yummy.good to see IPA beer on tap but it's import not locally made would love to see local made IPA here to support other locals.good staff, friendly and polite, good menu
Went to the folk club evening. L I very the music. Would like it in a larger room. Got a little crowded and a little distracted by music from the next room. Definitely would go again.

We stumbled across this little gem on our way from Hobart to Mount Wellington. It was just before 6pm on a Thursday night so it was fairly quiet. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The prices were very reasonable. The menu didn't have the widest range of options but it suited us. We both went for chicken parmigiana. We aren't big eaters so opted for the small serving, which we still only just managed to get through. I had spicy salami on my parma for something different and was very happy. The chips were also delicious and the coleslaw was crisp and tasty. Overall we couldn't have asked for more. Oh, and as the name suggests, the views are dominated by fern trees.
Was closed Monday. We did some walks in the area and were disappointed that we could not get lunch or a drink. Nothing is in the area. Whilst there we counted a minimum of 9 others looking for lunch.
We came for dinner on our return from mount Weillington. The food was OK, the beer was cold. We struggled a bit because we had our dog with us, who is a bit reactive to other dogs and the resident doggy was off the leadh. Fortunately, there was outside seating available and at some point they ignored each other.
Great place, two guys at the bar were fantastic, the best service around! Food was to die for. Would absolutely go back! Thank you Fern Tree Tavern
What a cosy place to relax after freezing yourself up Mt Wellington. Really helpful and friendly staff, great casual atmosphere and great food.
Sehr schöne, warme Athmosphäre, nette Angestellte, gutes Essen und ein super Bar-room mit einer kleinen Bühne für performances.
Good comfortable place for organising small parties, children can play outside where as adults can enjoy their meals inside. There is also a pool table that can be used and a Piano to play if you are a music lover. Make reservations in advance if you want your survive to be customised. The staff is friendly and they will look after you really well.
Celebrated my sons 1st birthday here! Had the whole space to ourselves, lovely platters and were met in the parking lot by the manager “is this the birthday boy” so personal and warm! Highly recommend?
I really enjoyed the food, people and environment in this fabulous restaurant/pub. May you business successes and I will definitely come back again.
A great place to stop for lunch or tea after visiting the Mount field area.
Location is quite busy so parking may be a problem.
Food is great. Coffee superb. Service warm and friendly.
The children run through the trees as I sit and have a beer and the kookaburras laugh. Oh, that sound of Australia.
1 more beer please.the bus doesn't come past for another hour.
Its sunny, I sit, drink, wait, relax.a car goes past.
They say it snows here.
Nice.
Aroha! ️️️
Stuffed myself stupid on comfort food. Would love to live within stumbling home range during winter
You can tell that the Ferm Tree Tavern is run with love and a passion for providing a great experience for their customers. I’m not a pie person but OMG their stout pie was amazing! So much so that on my next visit I went with the curry chicken pie which was just delicious! My mum said they serve the best pub roast that she’s ever had which is a MASSIVE call And they have very obviously put some thought into their wine list which when paired with the fire place I will most certainly be back
Hearty meals on offer here and good selection of local beers. Check the daily specials or ask a staff. They’re recommendations were spot on. Love the ambience and fireplace. Very clean toilet and plenty of free parking. There’s a small park across the road to take a stroll after the meal.
