Lamb pot pie, garlic pizza, steak burger, very tasty and oh-so-hearty! Kind service allowing us order even though we arrived as the kitchen is closing!

Decent place to stay. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant area. Ordered the vegetarian pasta and it was disappointing. Had weird veggies in it like potato and celery. Also had parmasean on top which isn't vegetarian. Don't think the chef new much about vegetarian food. Little pricey too. Would stay again but probably wouldn't eat there again.

Only stopped in for a brew on the way back from Cradle Mountain. Good view out on the deck. Cosy and warm inside. The staff were friendly. No WiFi available.

First time at a place like this, scenery was nice. We just had takeaway coffee, the guy was nice.
But honestly we felt a bit unfriendly not by the staff but the whole environment. Only stop in Tasmania where we didn't get any hi-hello from anyone, probably not going make a stop next time especially if I am with my wife.

We stayed here on a Saturday night. Dinner was lovely and enjoyed some live music. A little rustic, but cosy and comfortable.

Absolutely awesome food! Loved the Nachos, definately worth trying. We arrived later in the afternoon and the chef had already gone home, so we had a lovely lady there make us all the food. Even though she didn't know much about the kitchen, she did an amazing job and worked very hard for us. I would definitely go there again

Very humble accommodation and was definitely more than i was expecting! Loved the stay HOWEVER be aware there is no phone reception or any available wifi - this is due to the isolated location BUT dont fret, its a great location, situated close by to Cradle Mountain and much more affordable in comparison to the lodgings on cradle mountain.as for the food - i would be more than happy to return back here for a meal! Being the only restaurant in town they actually serve up a very tasty meal!
i got their burgers and steak burger which i could not fault in any way!

this place might be out of the way, but if ur driving by its def a place to stop by for food!

This is a lovely place for a meal it's cosy and fun inside with beautiful hand made wooden chairs n bar stools the food is hearty so tasty We had the pumkin soup with cream with crusty bread so yum then had a bowel of chips
Jams scones cream to finish all made by the staff I could have eaten another 600 of them they were so nice cooked to perfection
The staff are lovely n friendly the young blonde boy who served us was professional and had a great sense of humor so support this business it's a lovely place

It's a real shame that there is no effort for the cleaning and maintenance. $180 for a dirty room and no wifi. The only reason we didn't just leave was that there was no wifi and we didn't want to risk sleeping in the car. Didn't eat there because if they can't even clean the accommodation, what is the kitchen like? Sheets were clean, but old, bed was hard. Lamp had disgusting stains, heating and extraction fans had months of dust, weird black goo stain on the wall. Overall, should pay just another 20 bucks and stay at the Peppers at cradle mt or drive another 30 mins to Sheffield where at least there is free wifi.

We arrived in the afternoon, tried to order the wood fired pizza. The waitress said it should be for dinner only on that day but she said she will asked the chef. The chef agreed to heated up the pizza oven. We order salmon pizza. Incredible! The pizza size is huge, topping is very generous (quite thick filling) and taste so delicious. Thank you for letting us to have the beautiful wood fire pizza.

Good place for a quick meal.
The food was fresh, portion size was generous.
We ordered beef pie, burger and chicken curry all were good.
Note: no phone reception at this place.

Absolutely terrible.
We came to stay two nights, we were given a small, dinghy room full of dust and mould. The mattress was so thin and the pillows lumpy that neither me or my fiancé slept at all that night.
We were told dinner was finished at 7pm and breakfast was at 8am, food was so basic and so overpriced for what we paid.
The staff were ok, but not very friendly or helpful, and we were asked to clean our room so we didn’t get a $20 cleaning fee added when we left.
The night was so bad that in the morning on our way to cradle mountain we stopped in at Cradle mountain resort and were shocked to find out the rooms there were only $14 more a night than what we had paid at cradle forest inn ($180 a night!).
We immediately switched hotels at 9am that morning and didn’t even get our money back for the night we didn’t stay at the cradle forest inn.

Overall, we are a young couple in our 30s. Our expectations aren’t high, but for me to write a review like this means I was truely disappointed.
Don’t stay here, go up the road 20 mins for a much better experience with wombats on your doorstep and cradle mountain 2 mins up the road.

Stay a night and eat here is base 200 plus. Why so you can say you stayed at cradle mountain.you could of hired a motorhome for a week a few hundred more and camped at the visitor centre for free.
Cradle is tourist central really unless your into killing yourself walking in freezing conditions and have basically survival gear and cloths your going to not be a happy camper.your dog is not allowed in the park so forget the dog.and chances are it's misty or raining your only going to just see another tourist in front of you.unless you like carparks this is as close a view you can get of the mountain.
There are many B&B s along the route that offer a much better view and experience of the alpine mountain experience.at half the price. Cradle mountain is going to disappoint if you think you can see the mountains from any of the accommodation here.there are many alpine places heaps Better than cradle mountain.in my opinion. 2 stars PS you do get cell reception here

Great spot in the wilderness of Cradle Mountain surrounded by birds chirping and at dusk you'll hear animals roaming around the cottage. Accommodation is in a self contained cottage. It's simple but has all amenities needed including kitchen. The restaurant makes great food judging by the awesome pizza we had.

2018 Christmas lunch The worst meal I’ve ever had and on top of it cost 55$ per person. What a ripoff

Beautiful scenery, lovely well documented walks, extremely helpful information centre. Really enjoyed our walk and the day spent there. Highly recommend.

I wish I had seen the other One Star review before I booked this place. The room was dirty. The kitchenette could not support preparing food as there were no kitchen bowls etc. But there was a microwave. My husband had a shower, then half way through mune the hot water ran out. I had to finish washing my hair in a freezing cold shower. When I reported it they said that it does happen occassionally as the other Unit that shares the hotwater system must have used all of the water. They said it will heat up again. By 9: 30pm the water was only luke warm. We booked for 3 nights. None of our tea/coffee supplies were refilled. Towels were not changed or bins emptied. For the cost of this accommodation we were expecting an upmarket stay. Overpriced, dirty and uninterested staff. (Except for one lady who just kept apologising) If you are comtemplating, don't bother.

The staff here are incredible! Great service, great food (with options like vegan friendly, gluten-free), and they go above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay possible. We stayed overnight in one of the rooms, and it was a delight. Great breakfast as well. Perfect location. Again, can’t stress enough how amazing the staff are. They are like a little family & are so welcoming.
