Not on the website, but directly opposite the entrance to the cottages is a relatively new Cafe and run by the caretaker & his partner and both are super friendly and very knowledgeable off the local area. Stop even just for a coffee and believe me the home made pies will make your stop well worth it.

Beautiful little cottage that was super easy to find! The bed was so comfy and room was just truely lovely we had done previous research and so had bought microwave dinners prior to our arrival. We really appreciated the notification about no wifi and limited food options. This place is also great value for money and only 20minutes from cradle mountain. The only recommendation I could provide is that the wifi issue was more broadly advertised and that a map showing the surrounding areas was included in the cottage booklet for reference.

Can’t say enough about how wonderful this accommodation was! At first I was a bit disappointed that places closer to cradle mountain were booked but after staying here I wouldn’t have it any other way. The accommodations were so clean and tidy, and the right amount for a comfortable and cozy stay while still feeling like you were very much in the mountains (well, because you are… but the layout and structure were the perfect cabin feel). The room had a kettle, fridge and microwave which was great to have a quick breakfast before heading out in the morning. The heater was quick and incredibly efficient, and the bath tub was such a wonderful surprise. Check in was seamless and the room spotless! The 20 minute drive to the visitor centre allowed plenty of time to drive SLOWLY and see so much wildlife! Can’t wait for the next trip to Cradle Mountain and to stay here again.

We stayed here for two nights and the rooms were very cosy and comfortable. There's nothing in the way of cooking facilities and the kitchenette had a kettle, toaster and a microwave so we could eat toast microwave meals and tea and coffee. But over all not a bad place

Quiet forest location and nice comfortable rooms. Heating in each room was sufficient but would have been nice to have electric blankets. There is no food available locally, so we brought meals to heat up. Microwaves and cooking equipment are provided. There is no wifi and very limited Telstra reception, ok for emails and text, can't watch videos however the tv has cable and good reception. The spa bath in our room was good after a day at cradle mountain.

Nice, cosy, the spa was very good.
My only suggestion is to have more cutleries available but still highly recommended.

2018 Christmas lunch The worst meal I’ve ever had and on top of it cost 55$ per person. What a ripoff. Not at all surprising that this place burnt down. Wouldn’t be surprised if it Was deliberate.

We were given the Dragonfly room. It was warm and toasty, and the bed was super comfy. The cabin was very clean and there was hot water. Unfortunately the restaurant is not open.

Was nice and quiet. Room wasn't cleaned when we arrived and heater wasn't working properly. Nice and quiet tho

Pleasantly surprised. Our first choice closer to the Cradle Mountain was booked out but I’m so glad it was because this place was just perfect especially the price! We booked two Deluxe suites and will be staying here everytime we visit Cradle.

We loved our stay here. The rooms were so cozy and clean, not modern but that just adds to the charm. The garden area outside is wonderful too. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open but we went to the lodge down the road for dinner. There's no Wifi or service unless you're with telstra, so make sure you are prepared before you arrive.

It was exactly what we were looking for. Beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The room was nice and cosy, the only issue I had was for me personally, the bed was too firm. We stayed a couple of weeks after fire took out their tavern so we had to travel short distances to dine but we did not mind at all. We will definitely be making this one a regular.

This winter we’ve stayed in cabins 1/3rd the size of the Delux spa cabin which we stayed in here and they were much nicer and cosier than this accomodation. We were hoping for a warm cosy stay following our day hikes at cradle mountain. Here’s what we got:
- A kitchen with no sharp knives (which wasn’t great given the restaurant here burnt down so in terms of food, we have to prep our own or travel to other accom for dinner) we did get a small steak knife form reception when we asked which was helpful.
- A shower that literally dripped cold water onto us, using only gravity to send water. Hot water came for about 30 seconds, every two minutes the rest was freezing cold water.
- The cabin was very large, which is a positive but the ‘radiant heating’ system was just a small heater on the wall that couldn’t keep up with the cold temps of the mountain side. Plus when we arrived, the heating wasn’t on. Everywhere else we have stayed have had heating on to warm the room upon arrival - and they were not on a mountainside in a raised cabin! (Very cold!) this system is not sufficient for this location and the size of the cabin.
- Bedside table lamp doesn’t work
- The general state of the accomodation, we tripped on the wire netting on the deck meant for non slip which was broken and spiking up. Nothing seems to be maintained. The welcome book says you get new towels every two days, we’ve been here 3, still wet towels. Also rust coming from the taps.
- It was all made amazing by a blackout on our last night, which I know wasn’t their fault and certainly have empathy for this and no dramas travelling for food, but given nothing was comfortable, no power in an already non cosy comfortable cabin just reinstated our views that we were unimpressed.
- Sad that the owner lost their home and that things have been turned upside down since the fire at reception, but the problems with the cabins appear seperate to the loss of restaurant/reception and therefore should still be made to be like the advertisement. This property had none of the ‘warmth’ in the online images/description.
- We did address these things with the owner, who didn’t appear to be too worried that we were uncomfortable. It was suggested to leave the heater on all day and it will take the edge off, and that they would have a look at the cold water/ pump issue - although given they confirmed it’s just gravity there wasn’t much they could do. If this was a result of the fire, which seems odd that the pump for the water was at the main reception and not with the water tank, then fair enough. But I’m not sure how anyone think cold dribbling water in winter deserves more than a 1 star!

It's now under new/old management and once they get into a good flow will hopefully be a great stop on way to cradle. Food is good home cooking and good servings.
Very friendly staff.

We did a day trip to Cradle Mountain and just happened to come across this little gem o the way. I went in to find out the closest place to fuel up and the nice fella advised to go to Wilmot. The smell of home made cooking enveloped me and I said that we will be back. The response from the lovely fella couldn't have been more welcoming. So we had lunch here on the verandah overlooking beautiful nature. It was so warm and welcoming that we will come back to stay. The food was just as fantastic as it smelt.

Cabins were nice but there was no restaurant or wifi (kitchen burnt down in early May). Wished we were informed as we had trouble finding dinner and couldn’t organise to stay anywhere else as there was no wifi or reception. We were only told when we got there.

Being in the wildness in winter, they should have more transparency and notified us beforehand. We didn’t have any food with us and almost went without dinner after a long hike in the mountains.

The fact that we paid $190 for the night with no tv remote and shelf hanging from the wall ready to fall off wasn’t the problem. The problem that made the stay average was the fact when I reported it the next morning, maybe to be fixed for next customers was “not our problem”. Thanks for the exceptional quality and friendly advise.

We came in the late afternoon, we were tired and hungry. The staff were fairly friendly and they provided nice food and warm smiles.

My husband and I stayed here for one night while visiting Cradle Mountain. We found the staff friendly and accommodating and on checking were able to access our room around 1 pm.
The room was very clean, cosy & very comfortable. We had pizza in their restaurant which was delicious & had breakfast the next morning which was tasty and plentiful. Would happily stay there again.
