Cradle Forest Inn

The staff are lovely and so friendly. The schnitzel, pizza and the lamb pot pie is great. But the beef pot pie is a little runny and way to rich in tomato paste.

Scenery second to none. Room was great!

No notification that the restaurant had burnt down, with an hour round trip to find food, poor (thank you lemonthyme).
No WiFi, and no phone service also poor.
Also the heater wasn't string enough to make the room comfortable (single digit night).

I'm sure it will return to its former glory with a new restaurant. Transparency would have been greatly appreciated (for us and also our friendly neighbours).

Love the accomodation, too bad I spent only 1 night. Its quite freezing at night but room heating was good.

Best restaurant in the area, staff were great and I felt handled the people who were causing trouble really well. Great to talk to staff and will provide as much help as possible. Food wasn't great. But I think I would try something better. Price, you're looking at $29 for a Parma and $25 for a burger and chips.

Nice spot for dinner. Good food, reasonable price. New guy in the kitchen making the pizza came out to check with everyone how it was. Very homey and cosy little place.

Specified we needed 'vegan' food 3 times due to dairy and egg allergies. Meals come out saturated in Aoli and cheese. Staff are all approximately 15 years old and the kitchen staff weren't even aware that Aoli has egg in it. They were unwilling to replace the food.
Curry was trash and the vege nachos dont actually contain a veggie.
Skip this country bumpkin pit.

We had a fabulous meal - both the salmon and the pizza were excellent. Good size portions all around including drinks. The polite and courteous service topped off a great meal. No hesitation recommending this place for a good meal - book before you go.

We enjoyed an excellent dining experience at this establishment, earlier in the day we had excellent scones with tea and later when we returned for dinner we had quite possibly the BEST pizza I have ever experienced! This amazing pizza was the pork option made by Andy, had a perfect crispy base that didn't get soggy, and the flavours were fantastic! All of the many staff members we encountered were very nice and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Awesome meal would recommend stopping there on way to cradle mountain. Or even visiting there during your stay at cradle mountain. Great coffee and big smiles. Will be going back for coffee and feed

What a grrat find. Just wanted to stop in for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised and how yummy the home style meals were. Very good prices too which made it even better. Super friendly service girl who took our order. Would definitely come back and reccomend to others travelling this way

Nice warm spot for a coffee and burger after Cradle Mountain. Importantly still open after 3 when the cafe at the visitors centre shut.

This place is one of Tasmania's hidden gems. The staff are amazing and the food is spectacular. Pull up a chair, settle in and enjoy the beautiful Tasmanian temperate forrest and some Tassy beer or wine.

Great little spot for a bite to eat. Very hospitable. Board games and card games were a hit with the kids. Kids pizza was pretty large

Excellent cafe ambient environment and fireplace, food and coffee was good!
Customer service was above expectations, specially little boy at front deak and coffee machine was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely stop everytime on my way to cradle

We knew the check in is from 2pm, but we arrived at 1.30pm (since we drove 3 hours from Hobart). We were greeted with "you wanna check in? Come back any time after 2pm". Considering it's an isolated location, you would think they would offer coffee (that we would gladly pay for), and ask us to have a seat and wait while the room is being prepared. Instead the person that was cleaning the coffee machine simply said "check in is only after 2 pm" and walked in (what I imagine was) their office. I had to suggest that we could do all the paperwork/payment before, since it was not 2pm yet.
Other reviews mention friendly staff; please bring them back! They certainly weren't around when we got there.
I can't comment on the cabin/room, because we paid for it (since we had booked it) but didn't even bother checking in as we clearly were not welcome there. Pity we couldn't cancel in time to get a refund.
Definitely pay the extra $ and drive a bit further and stay at the Cradle Mountain Hotel. Avoid this one.

This is a perfect peice of paradise. The most peacefull serene place i have seen, the staff are very accomadating and caroline is very likeable. I would reccomend cradle forest inn to anyone 5 stars

I have seen this business transfer through many owners, with me being a local I have watched the place change over time.it's a great place to stop or stay on your way to cradle and I have always had a little love for this place.great little inn

Dropped in for lunch here after a hike, food was delicious. We had the rissoles and meat lovers pizza.

Definitely a great place to stop and grab a bite, food was quick and service was wonderful.

Received pretty terrible customer service from the manager, so I would advise against booking this accommodation!

I had booked in for a specific room, and when I got there I found out that they had given my room to someone else, and had me in another room. When I requested to be moved to the room that I originally booked - they lied and said that I got an upgraded room and wouldn't have to pay the extra cost of the room I was currently in. Upon checking I found out that this room didn't actually cost more/ wasn't an upgrade. She then told me that if I wasn't happy I should go find somewhere else to stay - this was the day of a snow storm when everything else was booked up. Overall retty rude customer service - I wouldn't recommend it at all!

Rooms were also poorly maintained - I found hair in the bathrooms which meant they weren't cleaned thoroughly. Kitchen appliances were rusty on the inside so I didn't use them.

Was very warm & friendly with prompt service we had a bowl wedges with sour cream & sweet chilli sauce with a light boags stubbie to wash it down
