Good food with a variety of choices on menu is great and catering to dietary requirements. Great customer service by Kristie, she is so friendly, efficient and welcoming. Always has a smile for everyone.

We were booked in to stay here for 3 nights. Unfortunately upon our arrival we were informed that the room had flooded. Vanessa went above and beyond to arrange us accommodation elsewhere within the town. Even prior to our arrival Vanessa had been nothing but helpful in her communication. She is an absolute asset to this establishment and we couldn't praise her enough.

Great service (thanks Christy) and lovely meals. Came here as most other places didn’t offer the healthier options we were looking for. The Greek salad was very yummy and my husband enjoyed his seafood platter

Came down for the long weekend from town with friends and family group of us the first night wow it was so busy completely booked out by the look of the tables
Staff were busy but polite We asked for the names of 2 staff as they were doing a great job dealing with a lot of people’s orders
“Sara and christy” were friendly and mentioned leaving a review online
our meals were brought out by some lovely young ladies absolutely delicious meals the last 3 nights and was told about the other restaurants in town and Hobart
We will most definitely be back when we are down and will even look into heading to the other restaurants when in them areas
Great work by all kitchen staff too!

Easily the worst meal I've ever had. Seafood basket was soggy with what looked like woolworths chips and was the size of a kids meal, my partners $38 scotch fillet was fatty and barely edible. Definitely won't be eating here again. Over priced drinks too

Services from staff excellent. However Sally the manager has no people skills and shouldn't be in that position

The food was very disappointing. Paid $30 for 10 scollops that we’re overcooked like tiny rubber balls. The chicken Parma was average. The food staff were the only positive. Prob should have told the staff or sent the scollops back. Just left feeling disappointed. It’s a shame for St Helens who rely on tourists and weekenders. Will eat elsewhere next time I travel to the north east. Jo

Loved our stay. Great staff; great room; good meals; top view of the bay area. Might want to check the fridge in 122 may need re-gassing, was forced to drink the nice cold beer in the bar (terrible shame)

Nice rooms. For the high price we expected the wifi to work in our rooms. Could only access near reception

Booked the upstairs town view room for $206 per night and was initially send to a questionable room around the back with a faulty door and a smoking area next to the window. Returned to the reception to say there must have been a mistake with the rooms and the receptionist was very friendly and corrected the issue immediately. Unfortunately, the relief didn’t last long as when I got to the room, the “town view” was in fact a very invasive, brightly lit The Reject Shop sign and not much else was able to be seen. The room was ok however so we got on with our stay and tried to enjoy it the best we could. The following day we went to the down stairs dining area to order breakfast. We waited about 47 minutes for an eggs Benedict on sourdough and a breakfast burger though there was only two other people waiting for food. What came out after a long wait was two bits of white bread drowned in butter with poorly cooked eggs thrown onto it. The burger was not much better, my partner felt sick half way through and decided to open the burger to find that his egg was barely cooked. After waiting almost an hour, neither of us were able to finish our meals as it was not edible and still had to pay $30. We are not from the area and had to quickly check out due to the wait and so were not able to contact a manager to ask for a refund. Nothing about the hotel was true to what it advertised, the whole place seems a bit of a scam.

Room in the back of an ally way. Un renovated. The Room given should not actually be in service. When I complained, I was told ‘yes those rooms are those rooms and we don’t show them on our website’. To top it off, teenage kids pushed the door open and through a handful of rocks into the room. A terrible stay.

Great old style motel/hotel. Rooms are large, beds comfortable, bathrooms refreshed.
View over either town or local bay.
Restaurant has great meals, good price & size.
Laundry is convenient, only a couple of dollars.
Only 2 complaints, no WiFi on first floor & only 1 washer & dryer.
For the price, a good find.

The picture does not match the entity, the room is gloomy, and the service attitude is not good!

Comfy, clean good value for a 3 star. Location nice, beautiful view of the Derwent river ftom our window. It was a shame that our balcony door didn't open easily or that there was no window to open for fresh air.

Pleasently surprised with the comfort and views with the room. Noticed multiple review of old/tired rooms so was hesitant. We payed for an ocean view room and were not disappointed (see photo). Even with a function going on downstairs it was still quiet and comfortable. Great central location and walking distance to some good seafood/waterside restaurants.

I love the food, the refurbished rooms are lovely, and most nights the atmosphere there is great (can be a little rough)

Very bad experience went into the gaming room could hardly breathe with the smell of methylated spirits or turps that we're being used.
The fumes were so bad I got a headache within 5 minutes everybody who came in mentioned the strength and the smell of the fumes people were mentioning how dizzy they feel and jokily saying it's good to smell makes you get off your head.
I was told it was what they were using to clean the poker machines the whole room should have been closed down and aired out properly very bad health hazard this was also through the bar the fumes went and I gather wherever was joined to the gaming room the fumes went through.
Went back the next day and still just as bad walked out straight away still unwell from the day before.
Don't think I'll go back there again after leaving felt very unwell for the couple of days afterwards shouldn't have stayed in there 4 as long as I did on the first day
