Comfort Hotel Bayside reviews
77 Food still delicious. Friendly staff.
New updated rooms, ground level, opposite the waterfront park.
The staff were horrible and rude, there was only one lovely lady working. The food was terrible and bland and I couldn’t even finish my meal. I’m so disappointed in this place I won’t be back ever.
Service was excellent, would recommend a nice meal then ask them to have a pizza ready for takeaway when you leave for midnight snack or breakfast tomorrow.
My husband and my meal was very ordinary, staff were very confused and seemed to not know what they were doing, will not eat here again.
Refurbished rooms were decent but for 110$/night I’m not sure if I would call that a “budget room” the shower is extremely small with my average sized male partner hardly fitting. However, all the workers were great & friendly and the rooms were very clean.
The staff went over and beyond with care and service. I was unwell and they looked after me beyond expectations. 3_10 April 2022. Food was so delicious! Staff so friendly
FANTASTIC! Clean budget room & food was amazing. Khan & Jennifer are so welcoming & accommodating. Can’t wait to see the place once the upgrades are completed. I found a few reviews a little misleading as the description for the property is very transparent (stairs, parking right across the road etc) photos are exact & yes a little outdated but very clean (is a budget hotel)! We were very impressed with our stay. 100% we will be back!
Staff were lovely, especially Adam! Awesome attitude and he went above and beyond for us.
Food didn’t look like anything super fancy but both the shanks and pork belly were cooked amazingly
We upgraded to a room with a view, that was the only good thing about it. Old, Unrenovated and stinky. Mould on the windows and in the bathroom. Noisy doors closing throughout the night and in the early morning. And the town is dead as a doorknob.
This hotel is located centrally to St Helen's.moderately clean rooms. Nice view of the bay close to many amenities. Bistro is good too with a variety of options
*Review is based on the bistro, not the hotel*
We tried to have dinner here last night but we were abruptly advised that due to staffing issues, they were only serving people staying at the hotel. If they were busy, I could understand this, however there were 4 people in the bistro, none of whom had meals in front of them. The manager advised he had 50 people that could be arriving for dinner…I’m a little surprised that you would send money out the door, especially after two years of interrupted service due to the ongoing pandemic, on the hope that your hotel guests would come downstairs to eat.
Perhaps put a sign on the front door next time or have front desk staff advise when walking in, not after we were seated for 15mins then tried to order a meal. A little bit of service goes a long way!
The staff are great and friendly. But the rooms are very dated a lot of mission brown timber and run down. A coat of paint and some better locks on the sliding doors will see better ratings.
Ordinary. One steak overcooked and one undercooked and tough. Garlic prawns tasteless. Vegetables bland.
I didn't realise when I booked that it was over a licenced club. Noise level pretty good it was only other noisy guests that we heard and not that late either. Room clean and tidy, a good place to stay.
Pretty bad food by this place we did not like the service by the bar lady as she was a bit weird with the Corona Beer request all we need it was we do not have Corona beer as her reply was to the virus as we laugh she told us it was not a joke
Bloody weirdo needs to get out of the island more often
The food standard need to be lifted by this bistro shockingly over price with terrible food
Not at that standard yet
Should of cook at the accomodation we stay
Wasted of money
Large rooms, clean, no street noise. Set up as a holiday destination. Ideally located to shops, supermarket, bakery etc.
Don't judge a book by it's cover. Looks a little grungy from the outside but scrubs up pretty well inside. It's location next to the water provides great views from those rooms facing the water. Room size is very generous and although getting a little dated style wise is still very good. Shower was your usual glass box and a little "small" by today's standards. Very clean and mostly quite. A little bit of traffic noise about 7 or 8am (weekday). Parking is across the road but seemed secure and we were told under constant surveillance. Stairs up to the room so pack light. Might have added another star but found out the next morning that the essential cancer medication that we had placed in the bar fridge had not been kept at the required cool temperature because the cleaners had turned the fridge off at the wall. Be warned and look for that wall switch.
We would like to congratulate management as all your staff in particular Jennifer were polite and extremely friendly and helpful. The steak chips and salad was delicious, well done all around.
1 potato served on a plate and chef refused to add more, source was absolute water, hair in the food,
Very upsetting considering the price was I've 400 bucks. If it weren't for those staff that place would not be running. Chef should be fired!
Really enjoyed the meal here, staff really nice, food great, lovely outlook to the water, go there you'll enjoy it
