Bruny Island House of Whisky reviews
67Very rude asian behind the counter. Did not seem to understand English. I wanted to buy and was asking for a price list he said yes when I asked if he had a price list and then just walked off. The pricing means you are better going to a Hobart pub to taste. Stay longer at shucked oysters and bruny cheese. The staff are lovely, accomadating and really know the product. The Asian staff member here really let the place down and I left angry and disappointed. Don't ruin the Bruny experience by coming here. Plus toilets had no paper and stank. A sure sign the place is being run into the ground through incompetent staff.
It is a warm and friendly place to go. Staff over there is very knowledgeable in Whisky, in which Marcos is very passionate to his work. We have a happy moment there trying different kinds of wonderful Tasmania whisky. The place is also beautiful. If weather allows next time, we would stay outside and try some more whisky introduced by Marcos and his colleagues.
Great range of Australian whisky. You can get lost in the many selections. Just make sure your wallet is full before you go.
Lee and Raven are just amazing. The food was delicious, the views were mesmerising and whisky tasting was fantastic. And what a hypnotic whisky collection! Will be coming back here when we are back in Tassie.
One of our alcoholic discovery lady had a strong intention of enjoying wine tasting and honey shopping in tassie.unfortunately, like what she whispered, " Nothing is free in Aussie" seemed to be true.however only if i do not vow to the 5 precepts, i would be gulping those degrees.we came quite late, everything closed before sunset, so we miss the food.good atmosphere.great services, gorgeous staffs. One of the best choice to sort for a present.
We were amazed at their whiskey selection there. They pretty much got a lot of Tasmania whiskey to try. The staff was very friendly to talk to and knowledgeable. Tried their Trapper's Hut whiskey and loved it. We did the tasting but find it a bit pricey.
Very disappointed that they said they do not serve food due to it being winter season. Odd as I thought you needed to if serving alcohol in Australia.
I'm fine with paying a fee to taste test both gin or whiskey but would like to have been told that confidently. Instead it was made to be an awkward conversation with little information about the whiskey or gin we were tasting. It was a confusing way to taste whiskey and gin as there were different prices for things.
I also didn't expect the gin taste test to be a full cocktail, that was not explained.
Loved the venue super authentic. Nice view and balcony seating area.
Looking forward to coming back during summer to enjoy food and drinks.
