The staff here are super friendly and understanding. The cost is much cheaper than other alternatives for the same type car. Have used before and will use again.

Worst car rental service, good luck if you are trying to reach you via telephone and their chat crashes unexpectedly. Also, the email ID doesn’t work anyways. I will never book car from budget car rental ever again.

The people were helpful and friendly. The car was ok for the price. Unfortunately the extra costs of insurance coverage, selecting the option of pre-paying cheaper fuel from the depot (which is charged at a full tank regardless if you only use half a tank), and roadside assistance, made the extras come out more than double the hire cost of the car.
On top of this, they are located offsite and weren't open when we needed to return the car on a weekend. We had to walk back along the road as the shuttle bus was not available.

Just next to the airport, they offer a free courtesy shuttle to departures after you’ve returned your car which was really convenient.:)

Our company tried them out and took out four rentals over two weeks (Hobart and Launceston Airport sites). Issues with fuel tank not being completely full, age of cars, and customer service. We won't be using them again.

The price for car rental was very easy, people were nice and location convenient, however 2 weeks after returning the car we still don't have our bond back. After one week I called to follow up and only then did they release it supposedly, we're still waiting for the money. I'm sure if we didn't chase it we would have never received it!

That’s how I would describe dealing with Bargain Car Rentals my my worst ever experience with a rental car company, pre booked a a vehicle at Launceston Airport in March 2023 when I picked up the vehicle it was nothing like we spoke about on the phone. It was almost a five-year-old base model, Hyundai, with high kilometres and a terrible smell and completely unsuitable for the purposes, I told them I needed a vehicle for. Took the car back after 24 hours they charged me two days rent instead of one and had to make different arrangements with another rental car company to get something decent to drive. I would never recommend this company to anyone I would rather walk or ride a pushbike then deal with this company again.

Great price and good service, management team need to pay attention to the condition of the car.

Unfortunately, we arranged everything with a 3rd party, we really should have organized directly with Bargain. Nora was amazing. She gave us advice and was very helpful. Connor had very good tips about Tassie too. If all the employees are like them, it’s a wonderful team!

Have not updated website which makes you go the opposite direction of the actual warehouse, do not answer calls and horrible communication. Do not recommend.

Hired a Hyundai Ascent at Launceston airport for under $60 daily for 7 days, and loved the car!

The airport shuttle service was great although I was confused by the instructions on whether I needed to pre-book and where to wait.

Other than that, all good.

We could see Bargain Car Rental cars all over Tasmania, which gave us confidence we are with a major car rental company.

Absolutely cheaters charging hidden extras fees your card.they also charge 4$ Per litre gas…
Also I waited more than 3h for the pick up time.
STAY AWAY from this company.

We didnt find the airport shuttle instructions very easy to follow on their 1300 service, so wasted time wandering around looking for the shuttle bus. If they'd have told us "come out of arrivals, turn right and walk 30m to find the bus" it would have been waaaay simpler.
The actual collection was simple & quick (thanks to their online check in), but there was no instruction of the car controls given. However the car has been great so far.

Great service, staff friendly, professional and helpful. Collecting and dropping car off was super easy. The car was very fuel efficient and comfortable.

Arriving at Launceston airport, we had to wait for 40 mins before we were picked up by bargain car rentals, freezing temperatures, when we did arrive and recieved our keys for a camper van we hired for the next 7 days, our flight was late so by the time we ended up getting our keys it was past 8pm. We were told everything was fine and took their word for it and headed to the closest caravan park north of launceston, we were pretty tired so got some dinner on the way and went to sleep, the next morning we travelled towards the west of Tasmania, and it wasn't until we stopped at our first destination did we realise we were not provided a power cord, we could not use heating, the fridge did not work, not could we charge our phones or use the water pump for the sink or the kettle, and then to find out our only way of cooking food was the gas cooker, which once we turned on the gas it was leaking in the camper van even when not in use, so we could not use that also. The awning zipper was broken so we could not use that, the steering over 80klms was shocking and we were wobbling all over the road so we could not go past 80, on the highways we got beeped at and abused. The rear dimister was detached from the window and with the below zero temperatures we could not see out of the rear window most days till after lunch. One blanket provided we spent every night absolutely freezing. After many attempts of trying to get through to bargin we got hold of a young girl from Hobart office who was very rude and didn't offer much help. We chose to make the best of the situation and try to enjoy our holiday. On the day we dropped the van off the young girl was very apologetic and said she would follow it up, but nothing has been done about it. I would not recommend this company in any way and will never use them again.

Our flight came late and they is no after hours number so we were stuck at airport when no shuttle bus came.the next day after spending SO MUCH on a taxi, we explained the situation to the lovely staff who actually cared. The rental was nice.shuttle bus back to airport was fast.

We hired a car for a week from Launceston.
No problems at all shuttle bus to and from the airport was hassle free.
Only a couple of minutes from the airport.
Very reasonable prices compared to other companies. Will definitely use Bargain Car Rentals again
