AURA Hobart

A fabulous shared lunch with recommendations made by a delightful waitress. Food exceeded expectations with amazing taste sensations with every dish. Staff are friendly & knowledgeable and have a good sense of humour. Couldn't fault anything about the food, drinks, staff and atmosphere. Very highly recommend. Well worth the money.

The theme is to pick and share, so our choices were Tasmanian Oysters, sourdough, lamb shanks, smoked rainbow trout, garden salad and heirloom tomatoes with basils and tongola goats curd mousse. Chosen sweets were house macarons and Hobart wildflower honey with milk ice cream. Generous serves and mouthwatering. The accompanying drinks were a couple of gin and tonics - 7k dry chilli winter edition and Spring Bay Pink. Food and Drinks are highly recommended! A short chat and laughs with staff as they delivery the meals were nice. It completes the whole evening experience. Not just a meal at a restaurant.
Totally recommend for you to have a meal at this wonderful restaurant on the 12th floor of the Crown Plaza in Hobart!

The place has amiable staff and serve the food defining each. Entering the place with great ambiance makes you comfortable dining in. Oysters are served fresh that makes you wanna eat more; the lamb is delectable that we added another one; their salad is crunchy, healthy and delicious.
Overall, their food presentation is one of a kind.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aura in Hobart, and I must say it was an extraordinary experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped inside, the ambiance was captivating, radiating an elegant and sophisticated aura. What an unforgettable evening!

The menu has a really stunning array of culinary delights that showcase both creativity and culinary expertise. Each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The chef's attention to detail was evident in every bite. I was particularly impressed with the freshness of the ingredients and the harmonious combinations of flavors!

Just a small advice to the team at Aura - The guy wearing glasses and suit who took our order, he didn’t know anything about the menu or the food. Being a vegetarian, I asked him for recommendations but he just went recited the entire vegetarian menu. A little improvement to the service could go a long way.

If you're seeking a remarkable dining experience that will leave a lasting impression, you MUST visit Aura. I cannot recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to revisit this culinary gem. Kudos to the Chef!

Really lovely place. The view, the food, the staff, the interior decorations…. Everything was perfect. Will visit again and again.

Great rooftop location, service, food, drinks and views. We were there for our conference and they provided a great service and accommodated our request to suit our needs.

Firstly the positives. The view. Wow! The food and cocktails were also great and served promptly.

We went on a quiet Wednesday and there were only three tables occupied. The bar staff were excellent and attentive to what we had ordered!

Now the negatives. Our table service was invasive as the waitress hovered and kept asking if we were enjoying the food and drinks.

This next negative could have been ignored if we were:
1. Given a copy of the bill
2. Charged the correct amount.

The waitress rang up the table total at $248 when we had had 3 drinks and 3 items off the food menu. Had to ask for an itemised invoice and luckily didn't swipe my card when the incorrect amount was rung up. We would have been charged twice the amount we had spent. This was disappointing as this was a date night with my husband and we wanted it to be a little more relaxed.

I do hope the extra drinks added to our bill were actually charged to the correct customer!

Not sure how it got 4.2 rating.the view is nice, rest is terrible.limited menu, bad service.there’re six waiters there not many customers, but they see you and then ignore you.have to wave for like 10 minutes or call loudly to get their attention.will not go back and definitely not recommend.

What a fantastic venue to view Hobart. The array of dishes were inspiring and the sizes allowed us both to share a number of dishes. The baked beetroot dish was a standout and if you close your eyes while enjoying the burrata you are instantly transported to Italy. All the dishes were absolutely delicious.

Really disappointing experience. I visited for the first time 12 months ago and was amazed at the experience, I couldn’t fault it. I had organised a visit to return back to Hobart and knew I had to come back, but was so disappointed I did. My last visit the restaurant was buzzing and alive, when I arrived this time it was empty - we were the only patrons after the patrons before us left mid dinner - leaving their food and full drinks behind, our first warning signal.

We ordered 4 plates, 2 of the largest and 2 small sides. Our first seafood share plate and side came out, but as we were still eating with food in our mouths and still on our plate, our table was cleared and remaining food taken away before we had a chance to say anything. Our next share plate and side came out, no cutlery to divide and dish it between us and no new plates to eat from - I thought after having seafood it would have been expected. The portions were extremely small for the extreme price attached - $200 got us 2 pieces of pumpkin, handful of broccolini, 1 small piece of fish, 2 small pieces of lamb, 2 mocktails, 1 glass of house wine and 1 beer. Sadly won’t be returning, much better options in Hobart that don’t skimp on quality that still provides great value for money - we certainly don’t mind spending a bit but not for subpar quality complimented by the subpar service. The waitresses were really friendly, but beyond that as wait staff were quite poor.

Service was patchy and the food was delicious but a bit overpriced for what we got.all the plates came out in an odd order from how it was listed on the menu.

Jacinta, the manager made our experience at AURA extremely enjoyable, Jacinta help us in choosing the best dishes on the menu that we thoughly enjoyed. Jacinta is friendly and very professional, she has great customer service. Thankyou for a wonderful lunch and we can't wait to come back.

Nice place to chill, enjoy a snack and some great drink.
Main dishes are really limited, good variety of side dishes tho! Perfect for sharing if you are willing to buy a couple of sides.

I had the most incredible experience from my birthday at Aura. Impeccable staff, incredible food, and the views were stunning. The staff were very accommodating and let us stay longer than we had booked for.
Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

Decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary here and was very disappointed with the experience. Had an incident where we were expected to share 3 single bite size of the sea urchin between 5 people. When this was bought to the attention of the waiter/chef, rather than rectifying the situation, they provided a pathetic response that there was enough to be shared when it clearly was not. This left a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the evening and ruined our dining experience.

Great outlook, lovely venue, tasty snacks, pleasant staff, yet they haven't found their feet when it comes to service overall. I visited Aura to attend a small function, and the venue was understaffed, and not coordinated. It might be a better place to go if you are looking for a quiet night.
