Aspect Tamar Valley Resort

Most of the facilities and the chalets are run down. Several things were broken in our chalet. The dust was terrible, years and years of little cleaning. Paint was terrible. All the family got stuffed up noses and allergies. The spa in the pool area was like soup. The swimming pool was murky. We didn’t die from swimming in it, but it wasn’t nice. The gardens and landscaping was untidy. Bed was hard. Kids top bunk was hard up against the roof, if my son got up in the night to go toilet, he would hit his head. We put him on the floor. Kids jumping cushion never inflated properly. The boat fort has been redone nicely though. Couldn’t really recommend. We paid good money to stay, about $590 for two nights for family of 5, and it was still run down since our last visit 2 years ago.

Uninspiring, would be the best way to describe this place. There is a plaque in the little toy "Swiss" village commerating the opening of the resort back in 1989. And it would seem that not much has been done to the place since then. The chalets are tired, old and in need of serious renovations, the couches in the chalets are stained and look ready for hard rubbish collection. If some serious back pain is something you would like to pick up then look no further than the cheap, rock hard, mattresses that are provided on the beds. And the swimming pool and what is generously described as the spa need a facelift.

To their credit the staff are friendly and the grounds are kept in good condition. But to describe the resort as 4 star is a stretch. On the plus side the wi-fi seems relatively proficient but you are in a black hole with regards to phone reception. This place takes with one hand merely to snatch it back with the other!

If you want your foam mattress bed on floor on cold weather, you are welcome to live here. Pay for something and get something

We enjoyed the experience. Poor mobile reception which is also a good thing. Wifi free and fine!

Avoid! Very disappointed wish we had of spend the extra money and stayed elsewhere. Reception staff were rude on arrival. The bed was rock hard which left me so stiff and sore the next couple of days! Our fridge broke down so we rang maintenance for the man to tell us to bring our ruined cake and fruit up to the staff fridge, he ended up replacing the fridge and was extremely angry about this. The shower was cold and no water pressure. The shops where not open on time and the man at the activity centre was rude. The mean we ordered from the bistro was unbeatable. We will never re visit! Keep driving straight past this place.

We came here due to a flight cancellation late at night and opted for a late check out. Got a room with a beautiful lake view. Bed was comfortable and had a good sleep. Got a late check out for 12 noon at $20 more on top of the $300 we paid for the room. Altogether whole set up was dated and if we had a choice I don't think we'd come again!

Quaint little area and town. Very clean and food is great!
Took my daughter and 5 of her friends here for a swim, lunch and a play around and they absolutely loved it! The girls slept very well that night

It was a horrible experience. We hired two boats for 30min there was noone to supervise us. Within 10minutes one of our boat was leaking and water came inside the boat. We all got panic and managed to come near the pole where the boat was tied as there was noone to help us one of my friend tried to get off the boat but could’nt make it and was drown in the water? I suggest no one to go there

Went here for a conference and thoroughly enjoyed my day here. Great facilities, good catering. A wonderful place to bring children. Staff were lovely, very efficient.

We're locals and visited for a day trip. Definately worth it. Enjoyed the mini golf which presented surprising challenge. Quality bakery experience and loved looking around the small village

The activity centre was unattended. We went for a boating but it was unattended. We asked them if someone would supervise us or help us to do boating no one came to help. After 2 mins of boating the boat pedal was broken. And the water was coming inside the boat and we had a small incident there. That was the worst part there. Those boats were not safe to ride. Also the customer service is worst too.

Great resort, with a real family twist. Enclosed pool, paddle boats, bouncy pillows, putt putt makes it a fun time out. However it is showing its age with some maintenance required in parts, but overall a nice place for a short family break.

Very nice place, friendly staff. Minus points for not cleaning our room in the 4 days we stayed. The spa was a bit dirty as well.

Very nice place to visit! Minus one star because the paddle boats weren’t cleaned properly and there is no staff to help us with the chain secured them. One of the visitors helped us so thank you!

A great place to enjoy a day out, however if you plan to spend more than 2 nights in the villas here, make sure you book one of the larger ones or the village apartment. These are more spacious and allow you to relax at the end of the day, without bumping into your family members literally every time you turn.

Our room looks untidy but the resort has so many amenities to enjoy especially for the kids, although some of the amenities need updating. Surely, a family will enjoy the place.

Great maintained resort with a nice lookout. The staff are great. The restaurant is great but the portion is small, not worth the full price. The hotel room is quite clean with microwave, plates and cutlery. Too bad the hot pump doesn't work, only the cold mode worked, but the electric blanket was warm enough. The lake is amazing.

Fabulous experience. The room was clean. The food in the restaurant was top notch the breakfast was perfect and all the staff were so friendly. This is my 6th stay and it gets better every time!

Quiet and comfortable stay in a 2br villa. Enjoyed the rabbits and ducks and the peacefulness beside the golf course. A little tired and restaurant serving average food but overall a good place to base yourself for northern Tasmanian travel
