The Salopian Inn

Pleasantly surprised. Had been meaning to try this place for ages. Was really impressed with the level of the food and service. Will definitely be back for a cosy winter feed.

Great for long lazy lunches with friends. Get a seat outdoors if possible to soak in the sunshine and fresh air whilst looking out at the McLaren Vale vineyards.
The dumplings are the go-to dish, don't miss out and make sure you get an order in. Staff were really friendly and helpful, would come back.
Book in advance if possible, otherwise you can call up to see if they are able to squeeze you in.

Great afternoon spent eating delicious and interesting food, good attentive service without being intrusive, the kingfish entree was beautiful to look at and the dish lived up to its looks.

Main courses of lamb neck and pork omlette were keeping with the entree standards very nicely presented and great eating.

Small but good quality beer list, Swell Brewing ale and a great little light ale from goolwa are a good choice.

Extensive wine list and a small but interesting desert menu.

Lovely atomphere and definately a favourite

Well done Salopien Inn! Faith restored in South Australias ability to offer quality dining at a very reasonable price.

The 'feed me' banquet was extraordinary.
Lost count number of courses but about 7. Wine extra. A genuine degustation feast. Loved it.

Came here for my birthday today, my first visit and we had a yummy lunch. We had a wonderful waitress, the food was tasty and beautifully presented, the kipfler roast potatoes with parmesan I could have eaten all day if I had room! Beautiful views surround this restaurant, worth a trip!

A very good restaurant, but the menu is becoming a little boring. As a regular customer and a small menu, I feel needs some revision!

Not a bad spot at all. But beware the 8.30 sitting, go food, good atmosphere, good staff we ended up leaving about 11.30.

I can confidently say that the pork dumplings are my favourite food in the world.the customer service was excellent, reasonable prices, the food came out super quickly and the atmosphere was awesome!

We booked an impromptu lunch at the Salopian Inn with 5 children and 4 adults. We also had some dietary requirements. At short notice I could understand how our requirements could be difficult. However we were warmly welcomed by lovely FOH staff and assured that there would be plenty of options for our dietary needs. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The food was nothing short of outstanding. I was also very impressed with the kids meals. It was so nice to be able to feed our kids real food rather than the deep fried/frozen rubbish that is common place. My daughter had the kids steak which was cooked M/R as requested. It came with a house aioli, a little garden salad and some house cut chips. Had the portion been bigger I would have happily had it as a main myself. Delicious. I would strongly recommend The Salopian Inn for its casual yet sophisticated offerings. Food that is unpretentious and innovative, and warm friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.

Great food, service and an extensive cellar of wine at reasonable price to chose from. The dumplings in Asian sauce were amazing and my steak was perfectly cooked

The food here is amazing, love the sashimi and desserts. The service and atmosphere is always great. I also love that you can just come here for a drink and sit at the bar without having to order food.

My go to place whenever visiting McLaren Vale. The food is amazing and its always a please to walk downstairs into their well stocked cellar.

Very small portions Out of 8 dishes ordered two were good but just mean sized the others were below average and rather bland and very filling in a gluggy way. Over priced for cafee meals

The best food sensation I have enjoyed in a long while. The ‘feed me’ menu was excellent, all dishes beautifully cooked with home grown herbs and vegetables which left the flavours roaming around my mouth. The ambience and service complemented the wonderful food experience. Can’t rate highly enough.

This place makes me want to put children inside my Fiancė

Fantastic dining experience. Top quality food and drinks. Select your wine from the cellar or try a gin or two. The vegans in our party were equally impressed with their options. Excellent, prompt service.

Wonderful service, and beautiful atmosphere. Indoor temperature is nice and cozy. Lots of tasty dishes and wine to choose from. House baked bread and prawn dumplings were our favourites.

What a gem of a restaurant, great concept of having the wine cellar room to select your wines and the service was efficient, friendly and timely. The food was great with many different dishes to choose from. Highly recommended for fine dining.

Food excellent but service let down the experience. Very sweet but inattentive waitress left me frustrated and tarnished the visit.
