The Fresh Fish Place reviews
75One star for the great service and the other for hubby's fish and chips. My prawns and squid was terrible-very over cooked and dry. Such a disappointment after leaving this iconic place until our last day.
Fine fresh seafood and eat in facilities. A bit pricey and my salt and pepper calamari was too salty but very well cooked so it wasn't chewy. Wonderful young people work there very helpful and cheery.
Best fish and chips I've had in my life.
To give some context, my thoughts on F&C was that it was a fairly straightforward dish. Just get some fish, chuck it in batter and fry it till golden brown. Consistently, every shop I've been to around Adelaide, Brisbane, Northern NSW etc all had the same product which was usually somewhat greesy and.meh.it was F&C, not exactly complicated.
Then. I went to the Fresh Fish Place.boy did I have a wonderful experience.their staff are helpful, timely and very knowledgeable about local things to do. Thanks Cha Rie!
Lunch was so good (Flake aka Gummy Shark) that we went back there for dinner on the same day. (pink snapper).
Locals say the prices are a little expensive.but for me, it's the same prices as what you get in Adelaide. Worth every penny for the best F&C I've had in the world.
They also sell fresh Oysters. $13.50/ doz.
Coffin Bay was selling them for $13/doz. Hella good deal unless you're a local and can get it off the lease for $10/doz
This place is amazing! Staff couldnt have been friendlier, all of them! Food was beautiful, takeaway service was fast. Will recommend it to everyone!
Perfectly cooked fish served hot and fresh. As a bonus plenty of choices to take home for later. You're surrounded with some great art works for sale if you want a reminder of your visit. While you're in Pt Lincoln, don't go past it. I'll be back again tomorrow for more of the same.
Terrible. The King George whiting was over cooked, dark brown in colour, dry and crumbled away. The salt and pepper squid was also over cooked and crunchy, tasted like Kentucky Fried Chicken. Was not worth it for what you get.
Overpriced, Inappropriate customer service, very long wait, paid $25 for fish and chips +salad, $4 extra charge for pan fried olive oil, disproportionate serve, 1 disassembled tiny piece of the cheapest "fish of the day" costing only $26 per kg if bought from the cabinet, tried to talk to the manager, no understanding, no care, no respect. Very disappointing experience. We used to love this place, but it has changed, sorry.
Food was great and staff are friendly. However they need to revisit the layout of ordering food/gift purchases and ordering from the deli as it can get confusing and create congestion in a small space.
Fantastic fresh fish, chips & salad! On our table within 15 minutes and with a friendly smile! Don't know what the whinging bad reviewers are on about!? !?
Absolutely the best fresh cooked seafood anywhere. A high-quality take on the art of fish and chips, with a magnificent selection of fresh seafood on the menu. Fabulous surroundings and friendly staff. It took a while to get to me but they were extraordinarily busy. Enjoyed a smashing local Boston Bay Sauvignon Blanc while I waited.
Very fresh our meals were fantastic and the staff were friendly, would go back again without a doubt
Beautiful fresh seafood.including south Australia's delicious and famous King George whiting.good value too.
The best fish and chips I've ever eaten! The King George Whiting was the best I've ever had. Well definately be back!
Fantastic place - fresh fish and a variety of food. Tried their tuna burger; was awesome! Best fish and chips I’ve ever had!
Been there twince. Once for purchase tuna; 2nd time for their fish and chips.
Even the Tuna is frezen as not in the season, it still pretty good quality of meat. Cooked it for my 30th Birthday dinner while our family on a road trip of Australia.
Their fish and chips is nothing about the fancy battered. It's only about the freshness of the fish. It's very tasty!
Highli recommend!
Quite pricey for the calamari and chips I ordered. Wasn't overly impressed by the portion size either.
Very comprehensive fish shop, from fresh seafoods, pickled seafoods, dine in, takeaway, sauces, ornaments and picture frames! All about seaside stuff.
It was a quiet day on my first visit, fresh oysters and sashimi took a while with only one other table served. Food was good but you pay for it (9 pc sashimi & 6 oysters = $30 something).
I turned away on my second visit because there was a tourist group and a long line, it would have taken forever (knowing how the service was).
Loved the fish & chip specials, so delicious! Plus we bought some takeaway smoky bay oysters which were superb great fish & oysters & plenty of parking around even for our camper & trailer
Way overpriced for what you get. Had a full serve of calamari fot $17.50 and only got about a half dozen pieces which were tough and chewy. Very poor for the seafood capital.
Best fish and chips I have had in my life! So perfectly cooked and batter was sooo nice! I was so hungry for it I forgot to take a before shot.
