The Fresh Fish Place reviews
75Great variety of fish with some unique options (smoked, brined, etc). But not cheap and, tbh, the in-house prepared food was not great. Maybe the victim of high expectations.
Whiting burger was YUM. Sashimi tasting platter was really fresh with good variety. Overall really good quality food and highly recommend this place - thank you also to all the staff for working hard as it was very busy
Lovely shop with a little Restaurant. They sell seafood, art, decors and some special seafood related groceries. No Seafood Cooking Courses. Very good price for food and drinks. Very well sorted wines. Fish was so tender and tasty.stuff are extremely friendly. Table and chairs are perfectly clean.
We had dinner for 6, great service, quality range of seafood which was served promptly by very friendly staff.
Bought sea food from the shop during the day for another dinner.
The food was fresh, but it’s pricy. Sashimi platter served only 9pcs. Surprising! It’s not Japanese restaurant. There were raw mussels in the mussel pot, which made me worried. No one loves raw mussels. They serve fresh food for sure.
Had some good meals on site which were fresh and tasty. We bought a selection to take away which included 2 expensive seafood pies. Very very Disappointing. They had at least 1/2 if not more filling of mashed potato. Would recommend a Stone Hut bakery seafood pie way before one of these
Very expensive $43 for take away 1 person no salad prawns squid tentacles and a piece of fish
Small pot of sauce and a dry piece of lemon with no juice
Tasty but over priced
Yum! Our seafood was cooked to perfection. Bought some smoked kingfish and smoked salmon to take home. Equally delicious. Must stop if in the Port Lincoln area.
The name says it all. Great and fresh fish. I had the oysters.probably the best oysters I’ve had in my life. Chapeau
My husband and I spent 5 days in Port Lincoln. We went to the fresh fish place every single day during our stay. All their products are amazing and so fresh. Staff was friendly & welcoming. Keep up the good work guys.
The 4 of us made a snap decision to come for dinner, one had nannagai, one had kingfish and chips, one had crumbed abalone with chips and salad, the last had a fisherman's basket. Everyone of us enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the delicious meal and friendliness.
Best fish & chips we've had in ages, we have become regular costumers. Great service & friendly staff.
Absolutely the BEST fish and chips l have ever eaten. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. So much gift ware, amazing shop
Trip to Port Lincoln a few weeks ago with our parents - takeaway dinner from @freshfishplace: They have a really wide selection of seafood items. It's a nice fish and chips / seafood shop! All the seafood was fried/cooked perfectly. The chips were excellent as well ️.
- King George whiting
- Calamari
- Tempura oysters
- Cole slaw
Ridiculously expensive fish and chips. $20 per head for takeaway and unfortunately we could not afford such expensive food. Fish and chips is as Australian as It gets and should not cost an arm and a leg.
Looks good inside with lots of fish and merchandise, but don’t expect to get a table at 1.45 on a Saturday after driving 100km to get there, and getting lost in Port Lincoln streets on the way.
Everything looks lovely, fish and chips, seafood the lot, but unfortunately as usual in these coastal towns where you think you would be able to get reasonable price seafood straight off the boat, that's where it ends, $65 for a kilo of king prawns in a bag, crayfish worth a kings ransom and the list goes on, I guess with such a lucrative export market who would care about it's own people where it all came from in the beginning.
Unique place for a fish and chips meal.
It’s restaurant/ market/ souvenirs shop. The service is good and the ambience is beautiful. Food is average but good value for money.
I think one of the best place to buy fresh fish amazing ambience.
Busy at times but very friendly staff and tastiest fish and chips.
Very disappointing. Prawn cutlets were not prepared properly (except for 2) were small (except for 2) and were not tempura but normal batter. Chips are not particularly good, and everything is overpriced ($13 for a large chips, no fish?)
My advice, get your F&C outside of Port Lincoln. Fish won't be any less fresh and it will be a great deal cheaper
