Sotos Fish Shop reviews
74I think I could make better chips at home. The fish wasn't any better, but what really let's them down is their attitude. Arrogant and rude. Won't be going back there.
Chips are sloppy and gross, burger was average at best.
Staff arent friendly either.
This place used to be good with previous owners.
Always good at Sotos. I don't eat deep-fried fish anymore as it makes my stomach churn, but had a craving so went and got some fish & chips. Dinner was pretty good. The day after was not, lol. The price I pay for eating healthy now, my tummy can't tolerate oily food.
I'd just like to thank the shop owners and the other people who helped my Mother Pat and sat with her and the nice man who gave her a blanket last night after she had a fall outside the shop after ordering her dinner. She is home and quite a bit sore today and on the road to recovery now. Unfortunately I live in Perth and couldn't be with her last night.
Slightly Overpriced
Under cooked chips
Ordered king prawns but got served normal prawns
Over rated.
Very disappointed traveled from Lenswood to Semaphore for fish and chips. The chips were little bits and pieces and the fish batter soggy and most of the batter was stuck to the paper. The only tasty things were the potato cakes they had crispy outer and nicely cooked potato. Disappointing when this lunch was a surprise and treat for my Mum.
Was really looking forward to fantastic fish and chips near the beach, so I picked Soto's. BIG MISTAKE!
I got 2 fish packs, with fish, prawns, calamari, crab sticks and chips, was terribly disappointed.
Fish was average, prawns were ok, calamari tasted off and crab sticks were inedible.
As for the chips, worst chips I've ever had in my life! All dried up and extremely tiny.
Definitely would not recommend or ever go back.
Very disappointed with our fish and chips. The chips were small, crusty pieces and overcooked. The fish was dry. Everything was so heavily over salted. Definitely won't be returning nor wasting my money again. Didn't even feed the food them to the seagulls. Horribly disappointing and went home hungry.
Chips were small and over cooked. Service was unfriendly. Steak sandwich had questionable ham in it. Could have been hotter
Always great fish and chips. Best to call and order to pick up as the wait when ordering at the shop can take a long time
Great fish and chips. Not sure but thought my food order came to $22.50 but when I checked my bank statement it was $22.73. Do they add on a credit card surcharge?
Although the line and wait time may be a hassle, the chips and fish are definitely worth it. They taste amazing, my family comes here everytime we come to Semaphore. Definitely a must place to eat!
Good friendly service and great fish & chips (real chips). Not far from great picnic area's with views of the beach. I could not ask for more.
Best fish and chips. Chips are homemade and so are the potato cakes. Great atmosphere and friendly staff
I would say.one of the best fish n chips in adelaide! Only take-away! Generally people que up here to get their food! Chips are made out of fresh potatoes.thats unique here
Dried out, hard chips, some of the worst I have ever bought. The fish was average, salt and pepper squid just tasted like uncooked flour and was awful. Calamari was good and the only part of all the food we bought that was. Definitely won't be back.
Best fish and chip shop in Adelaide.wait SA.if not Australia
Great staff great service great range and always cooked to perfection
Damn good fish and chips. No frozen pre-cooked chips to be found here. It's take away only, and the Semaphore tradition is to eat it on the grass in the central reservation, or take it down to the foreshore. Either way, expect a queue on warm nights as it's popular because it's good.
I can't claim to have tried every fish and chip shop in Adelaide but this is a stand out.
Good food but because it's so popular often have to wait for ages. Slightly over priced. Recommended.
Great prices and quick service when you consider the number of customers who come through the door each day.
