Sotos Fish Shop reviews
74A must try fish and chips place. The best one so far I have ever tried in Australia. Its fresh and crisp, and the chips is awesome.
Fantastic fish & chips. Tastiest flake ever. Perfectly battered and fried. No excess oil. Chips were scrumptious, again perfectly fried and well drained. Courteous and prompt service. Thank you Sotos for making our Sunday lunch a most enjoyable one. Highest Recommendation.
Absolutely ridiculous amount of time to wait.yes they are busy but nearly a 35 minute wait. Also everyone has to wait outside the shop and we sit for their number to be called.you can not hear them calling your number.may I suggest to put a small speaker box outside in the waiting area?
Always the best fish and chips even tried burgers and other foods from here absolutely love the food
Best chips and potato cakes in Adelaide. We travel from Seaford just to eat here. So worth it every time.
Not sure what to expect quantity wise when ordering chips next time. Paid for a large which which was more like a small just wrapped in layers of paper. Rip off.
Old Scholl food. Yummo! Potato cakes like we used to get. Same test same consistency. Proper burgers. Heaven.
Undercooked, starchy and raw, thought they were good, guess I was wrong wouldn't recommend waste of money, so not hallalmon.
Got 2 pieces of Grilled Butter Fish from this place. Tasted good, big pieces
About 5+ dollars a piece
Has Sotos changed hands in the last five years? It used to be awesome but when we got fish and chips yesterday the fish was soggy and fell apart. I had to serve it in flaked pieces. The chips were ordinary soggy chip shop chips drowned in salt. Very salty! Not the "hand cut" ones they used to do. The girl was also rude to my husband about not reading the no sitting sign. He legitimately hadn't seen the sign on the bench. We travelled an hour from the hills to have Sotos at the beach for lunch, very dissapointed.
Excellent chips and the cod was fantastic, well worth the drive from Somerton Park, I've been back a few times.always good.
Went to Soros on Saturday afternoon and purchased their medium chips. Not a single chip would have been over 3cm in length and were all very thin and not the best tasting. Certainly not what I would expect from what use to be one of the best fish and chip shops in Adelaide. Disappointed to say the least.
The chips were incredibly greasy. The fish was soggy. We had a much better meal there previously. Not sure what was wrong this time
I can't believe this place is running I had to wait for an hour to get my meal and after I ate the chips there were a weird after flavour and then a my fish smell like dog biscuits mixed with the sea.
This place is good but definitely not great. The chips are often soggy unless you specifically ask for extra crunchy and a lot of the burgers are pretty basic and dry.
Rubbish and rude customer service, would not replace my burger after they put bacon in it. Thanks for stealing my money.
Best fish and chips in the area. We go down to semaphore just for Soto's!
The staff there are amazing and so friendly as well!
Just got my chips, worst ever soft and soggy and my battered fish is so oily and what batter there’s hardly any on it. Won’t be going here again. Definitely not the Sotos it used to be!
Delicious, soft generously sized squid rings. Nice fresh fish. Great potato cakes! Chips are good but lots of little crunchy bits. Overall a great iconic fish shop in Semaphore!
