Phone menu is ridicuously cumbersome, the option to 'speak to someone at the shelter' just hangs up on you.

Can't speak to anyone who can help when you try and fudge it to get through to any one else to boot.

I bought a 6 month young female kitty with the help of a volunteer who was extremely helpful and didn't mind that I wanted to look at many cats and she showed us some more that weren't on my list.
Everyone else at the centre were also very helpful with completing the adoption papers and selecting cat food kitty litter litter tray and scratching post.

Many thanks to you all at Lonsdale.

Need to learn how to be more friendly with potential adopters and maybe try to stop making people buy food that cost as much as the animal there adopting.

You can be a volunteer and have 1 kitten or family to look after. They have Vets on hand you can talk and get help through Facebook. They also help with food kitty litter and other accessories. Daughter has a beautiful little girl kitten. Doing really well within 1 week.

Worth the visit. The shelter welcomes pet adopters and also has a well-stocked store for all your pets needs. Donations old towels are accepted.

I purchased my Kamikaze Kitten from here. She cleverly opened the Kitten cage at the RSPCA the day I was there letting the kittens out I just turned to see this white Kitten sitting there & just had to have her. This is Bridget Lee curled up on my legs for the night with Peggysue on the other side of me. Yep no sleep tonight. Thanks

Kicked out as my friend and I went to go have a look at the dogs. I feel like with all these animals here, that there would be an exception for people having a look at the animals. If you want us to buy animals, why kick us out as a potential customer to adopt?

I went there about a week ago with my grandparents to adopt a dog for them, the staff were very friendly and pleasant. Super helpful and patient too.
So glad we adopted this gorgeous girl, she’s settling in well.

Totally disorganised. Had an appointment, which I had to take time off work for, and still had to wait over 20min.

RSPCA have said their shelters are at capacity, so we felt now would be a good time to support the organisation and adopt a dog. We made an appointment at the Lonsdale shelter, on arrival we were told to look at the dogs available on the wall with no other questions being asked. There were 5 dog profiles on the wall - none of which suited our situation as we have a dog.

I told the lady none were suited and if they have any other dogs in care, considering they have been promoting they are at capacity. She explained that they do have other dogs in foster care that will be available this week. I asked “while we are here is there any way we can see their profile” and she replied “No” and then told us about the adoption event they are having next weekend.

We were not asked any question? There was ZERO interest in us potentially adopting.

To the management team: If you are struggling to have dogs adopted, and people present to your shelter and have taken time to drive all the way down to the shelter with an appointment booked, get their information, find out their circumstances, get them in contact with the adoption team or put them down for a suitable fit. Don’t just sent them away!

Absolutely appalling and heartbreaking that these dogs need homes, yet the organisation in SA is so quick to wave someone goodbye without one question being asked. You had an opportunity and we took the time.

Also didn’t feel very welcoming vibes from any of the team at the shelter.

Staff were extremely interested and helpful in selecting and fitting our puppy with a harness, going out of their way to make sure our puppy was happy and wasn't stressed by the whole ordeal even with my prior hesitancy on how she would react. I'm glad our trainer sent us up to get help from them as I doubt we would have chosen correctly otherwise. Thank you so very much.

Went there today for a puppy and am super happy! We had an appointment for as soon as they opened and it was already really busy, so I'd recommend getting the earliest appointment possible.the workers/volunteers were all really nice too which helps.

We would like to thank all the staff at the RSPCA Lonsdale Shelter for looking after our family dog RJ from xmas to NY while we were away. Although this is an expensive time, we greatly appreciate all the efforts of the volunteers and RJ was very happy happy and very well looked after.
